jkmaletic 02-14-2006 08:35 AM

Yes Jayne- PLEASE post the next page(s). Thanks SO much!! :woohoo:

jannieC 02-14-2006 12:34 PM

Oh how cool- Stevie and I are both on Weight Watchers together!

Yes, Jayne- we must see the next page???!!!

David 02-14-2006 12:34 PM

Interesting. . . .

I remember saying back then, "Stevie looks zaftig," & everybody vehemently arguing with me & clamoring for my head on the block & screaming, "NO! She's thinner than ever!"

And now Stevie herself says this, which exactly supports what I *thought* I saw. I'm going to trust my own senses from now on.

Thanks for posting!

bikerchic 02-14-2006 12:52 PM

She looks so cute in that picture. 76 kg is what in lbs?

Will the Aussies ever get off this metric system?

Stevie said in an interview I heard that she once weighed 175 lbs in 1994. (79.37 kg)

Isn't she even smaller than that? 5"1', I thought. At 175, that's one big woman. Definitely not healthy. Poor Stevie- she must have felt awful.

strandinthewind 02-14-2006 01:15 PM

I thought she was very heavy at the end of the SYW tour. I also think she gains weight while on tour.

Ype, she's 5'1". I was just reading an old article that said suffered from her first big weight gain - she went up to 130 lbs - on the Tango tour when she had to take steroids. After that, it seems like it has always been a battle. When you're that small, even four or five pounds can force you up a size in clothes... not that she can't afford to have ten wardrobes made in all different sizes...

estranged4life 02-14-2006 01:28 PM

I thought...

11th post from the top..

strandinthewind 02-14-2006 02:03 PM

Thanks Brian :wavey:

Sahara 02-14-2006 02:14 PM

Thanks for that.

That article really showed me just how much health trouble Stevie has had in her life -- from one thing to another, you know? Just listing it off like that really puts it in perspective.

It's great to get a really nice, positive article! :woohoo:

I thought she looked fine in photos taken at the start of the 2003 tour (certainly not "thinner than ever," but not exactly "zaftig" either), but by the 2004 leg of the tour, she was definitely heavier than she's been in years. It was obvious, IMO. And it was also obvious that she was trying to cover it up, with the scarves wrapped tightly around her neck, and the long gloves covering most of her arms.

I had figured it was due to the steroids she was rumoured to be on because of the hip injury, but apparently that wasn't the case.

Thin or not, I'm just glad she's off of Atkins now, which is not a healthy way to eat. That's something else you've been saying for years, David, and no one agreed with you!

Besides myself, you're the only other person I trust, Stew, although I love everybody here to death.

I would trust Matsumoto, too, but he never seems to drop by here any more.

Serrart 02-14-2006 04:52 PM

Thanks Brian, it's really a great interview. It's not easy for everyone, but especially for a celebrity, to talk so openly about these issues. I'm glad she doesn't feel such a contrast in herself now.

Yuppers.

But what's the hip injury?

Certainly that is a bad siet. AND - the thing is protein is the way to way loss. But, you have to have all the other stuff too. I have lost like 50 pounds and if I ate no fat, my face would look awful because skin needs fat. So, you just eat not alot of it. Same for carbs. All this cut this or that out of your eating entirely is ridiculous and can only lead to a dead end.

BTW - I miss you :wavey:

Did you catch the youtube version of "Sara" off the SYW tour? The red cape she wore could cover every window of Buckingham Palace. I didnt get to see that tour because they canceled their Chicago appearance...so i had no idea how much weight she gained, but she looks absolutely wonderful now.

And from someone (me)who was on the Atkins diet for more than 3 years, it does kinda make you lose your mind. A bite of cake or a piece of chocolate will bother you for days. Good for Stevie for finding something else that is obviously working very well for her!

Janis_no1 02-14-2006 06:34 PM

I think they are referring to stevie being a ball... or as big as one.

Yeah she was big... i noticed that from being up the very front in March 04. Then when i saw her in november 05 she was smaller, but it is hard to tell with her because of what she wears..

She usually puts on the weight while on Tour.

Oh. I read she had the impants removed.

I belive he is referring to her natural birds. She's still got something there even though the implants have been removed and for women, especially when they gain weight, their breasts tend to get bigger as well.

Apparently Stevie fell sometime before the start of the 2003 tour, injuring her hip. She then went to a chiropracter, but he messed her up worse than she was... hence her extremely limited movement during the early weeks of the tour (when she couldn't even bend forward to bow or shake hands, etc.).

I say "apparently," because now I can't remember if this was ever confirmed, and I'd hate to spread misinformation.

I remember reading stuff about some fall... But I haven't a clue where it came from or from whom... So who knows if it was speculation or not.

Well, I certainly wasn't one of them. I thought she looked mega-bloated on the second leg....

Here's your zaftig pic, David-
