Mick's solo stuff
Hey guys, my roomate was asking me (naturally) if I had any of Mick's solo records on CD. I dug thru all my bootlegs and such and I don't have any of his stuff from The Visitor ...well, I dont have anything he did outside of the Mac. Mr. Bill (my roomate) seems think that he did a version of "Walk A Thin Line" that was near superior to Lindsey's Tusk version. Any ideas on where to find this stuff...?

The Visitor was released on CD, but is now OOP. I have it and actually enjoy it very much.
As for the other solo album "I'm Not Me," it is only available on vinyl. I actually have it and enjoy it very much. He did indeed cover 'Walk A Thin Line" on the Visitors album. It is debatable that it's better than the original. I don't think so, but the music arrangement is quite different. I should rip it and post it for you. |

I have it on vinyl. I wish I had it on CD. |

(I edited my original post) since I confused albums on the cover of Walk A Thin Line). |
I'll save Richard the trouble of posting the file:

if i'm not mistaken, George Harrison plays guitar on this track.

Yes, George Harrison plays on "Walk A Thin Line". I love that song on the Visitor...much better than the Tusk version, in my opinion.
This is news to me about the Visitor ever being released on CD. As far as I know, I'm Not Me has never been released on CD. I have both of these albums on CD, but they're bootlegs. |

Yes, The Visitor was indeed officially released on CD (mine is a German pressing).
It IS a shame that I'm Not Me wasn't...it's definitely a Top 5 in outside projects of any Fleetwood Mac member. My Top 10 solo albums by Fleetwood Mac members: 1) Pink & Black--Rick Vito 2) Out Of The Cradle--Lindsey Buckingham 3) French Kiss--Bob Welch 4) Trouble In Shangri-La--Stevie Nicks 5) I'm Not Me--Mick Fleetwood's Zoo 6) Time Traders--Peter Green Splinter Group 7) King Of Hearts--Rick Vito 8) ...Looks At Be-Bop--Bob Welch 9) Flee--Jeremy Spencer Band 10) Midnight In San Juan--Danny Kirwan Bubbling JUST under: 11) There's A Heaven--Bob Weston |
I've got The Visitor on vinyl and CD. Very official, a French release. In Europe africa-related popmusic was quite popular during the 80's.
Anyone who ranks Micks WATL above Lindsey's I cannot relate to. Actually I find that rather strange. |

To each their own I guess. |

Billy's Are You With Me Baby? is #12 (if I'd listed that far)...I'm hoping that his upcoming album will crack the Top 10...after all, it has a good head start just by including "Oh Well". |

I have the new Billy cd preordered and I can't wait to hear it. I can think of several Billy discs that I would put way above even Stevie's Bella Donna... (Chronological Order) Between Friends Try Me Coming Home Bekka and Billy Are You With Me Baby But I'm not biased or anything. :) |

After that it went downhill fast. The Wild Heart was good but did not meet the greatness of its predecessor. Rock a Little was awful. The Other Side of the Mirror was bad but was a slight improvement over Rock a Little. Timespace doesn't even count, nor really does Enchanted. Street Angel was okay but mostly forgettable. Trouble in Shangri La was the nail in the coffin of my Stevie fandom. |

I find it interesting though, as I've read some of your posts regarding Stevie in the past, and that you say here your "Stevie fandom," because I've always gotten the impression you didn't like Stevie at all, but thanks for explaining. |

It used to strike me as very odd, but he used to show up & sit in with Deep Purple during their shows on a number of occasions in the mid/late '70's. (He & Jon Lord were good friends, I later found out) |
