Ann Coulter strikes, err speaks again

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Conservative commentator Ann Coulter, speaking at a traditionally black college, joked that Justice John Paul Stevens should be poisoned.

Coulter had told the Philander Smith College audience Thursday that more conservative justices were needed on the Supreme Court to change the current law on abortion. Stevens is one of the court's most liberal members.

"We need somebody to put rat poisoning in Justice Stevens' creme brulee," Coulter said. "That's just a joke, for you in the media."

Coulter has made a career of writing and lecturing on her strongly conservative views.

At one point during her address, which was part of a lecture series, some audience members booed when she cut off two questioners. "I'm not going to be lectured to," Coulter told one man in a raised voice.

She drew more boos when she said the crack cocaine problem "has pretty much gone away."

I think she and Pat Robertson should get married, and move to a deserted island.

Isn't marriage "between a man and a women"? neither of them qualify under that

Clinton slams Coulter's 'vicious' put-down of some 9/11 widows

Wednesday, June 7, 2006; Posted: 2:48 p.m. EDT (18:48 GMT)

Ann Coulter, in a picture from last month, is promoting her book "Godless: The Church of Liberalism."
Image:

WASHINGTON (AP) -- New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton lashed out at Ann Coulter for a "vicious, mean-spirited attack" on a group of outspoken 9/11 widows, whom the right-wing television pundit described as "self-obsessed" and enjoying their husbands' deaths.

Coulter writes in a new book, "Godless: The Church of Liberalism," that a group of New Jersey widows whose husbands perished in the World Trade Center act "as if the terrorist attacks happened only to them."

She also wrote, "I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much."

Clinton, who has felt Coulter's wrath over the years, responded angrily on Wednesday.

"Perhaps her book should have been called 'Heartless,"' the senator said.

"I know a lot of the widows and family members who lost loved ones on 9/11. They never wanted to be a member of a group that is defined by the tragedy of what happened."

The New York Democrat and former first lady said she found it "unimaginable that anyone in the public eye could launch a vicious, mean-spirited attack on people whom I've known over the last four and a half years to be concerned deeply about the safety and security of our country."

The senator spoke after delivering a speech on protecting children from exposure to sex- and violence-saturated media.

Coulter appeared Tuesday on NBC's "Today" show, and reiterated her stance, saying the women used their grief "to make a political point."

Her criticism was aimed at four New Jersey women whom she dubbed "The Witches of East Brunswick," after the town where two of them live.
They have spent the years since the 2001 terror attacks supporting an independent commission to examine government failures before the attack, and in the 2004 presidential campaign they endorsed Democrat John Kerry.

The women are Kristen Breitweiser, Lorie Van Auken, Mindy Kleinberg and Patty Casazza of New Jersey.

The women, who are still pushing for changes in how the government guards against future attacks, issued a joint statement after Coulter's television appearance.

"We have been slandered. Contrary to Ms. Coulter's statements, there was no joy in watching men that we loved burn alive. There was no happiness in telling our children that their fathers were never coming home again. We adored these men and miss them every day," the women said.
OF COURSE they are using their grief to make a political point, why shouldn't they? Often, it sadly takes a tragedy in order for people to become more politically active & start asking questions. Just because they're questioning our government doesn't mean they're having a good time.

Hello - she is a pandering whore and who ya think is paying the bills baby?

I mean she just makes shiitte up and then says it often and loudly enough and in the pathetic guise of "humor" while winking to her audience to where people buy into it. What a cow.

I've always said I think her schtick is more for the reaction she gets thatn how she really is. I could be wrong though.

Actually I still do enjoy her type of humor.. mean and invective.. yes.. but i can't help but laugh. and i still think she is spot on, on issues such as gun control! and PRAISE GOD she actually talks about our good nice little public school teachers and the "hard ships" they go through in the new book.

carrie721 06-07-2006 05:06 PM

the funniest thing i've ever read about ann coulter was in mr. cranky's review of the iraq war:

Quote:

Like an Iraqi soldier dressed in civilian clothes, Fox News has crept in under the false cover of objectivity to unleash a blitzkrieg of bias so right wing that channel-surfers often mistake it for a eugenics infomercial. The only nod at an actual exchange of ideas is Hannity bitch-slapping the hapless Colmes while slobbering permaguest Bill Bennett slowly undoes his belt buckle in anticipation of giving that liberal ****er his final comeuppance. It's enough the scare the teeth right out of Ann Coulter's vagina.
:]

I think she is hysterical in her ascerbic humor. My beef with the sow is her blatantly and knowingly wrong opinions affect too many people. I mean people take her schtick as true and it ain't!!!

By the way, put down that cup of coffee

Johnny Stew 06-07-2006 05:42 PM

Ann Coulter is so 2004.
Your 15 minutes of fame are over, Annie -- time to get a real job.

Wow, that's the most ridiculous thing I've heard in quite a while. Was she able to make that statement with a straight face?

macfanken 06-08-2006 12:09 AM

Ann and Kathy Griffin were both on "The Today Show" yesterday.

First, the vile...

...and the funny! Bwahaha!

carrie721 06-08-2006 12:16 AM

9/11 happened under Bush's incompetent watch, we've wasted three years and thousands of lives in Iraq while bin Laden is still a free man. Anyone who lost a loved one on 9/11 has a right to be pissed and to speak out. I'd be furious.

that wasn't her point.. actually that doesn't have ANYTHING to do with her point.

See this is where Ann hurts herself a lot.. she has some REALLY great points but they are often overshadowed by the outlandish things that she says.. and people pay so much attention to that, that they overlook the main point.

Go back and watch again.. its really hard to miss.

Wasn't she talking about 9/11 widows speaking out against Bush during the last campaign?

Yes.. but the point is not they don't have a RIGHT to speak out that is all fine and dandy.. the point that she is trying to make is that democrats (mostly it is the democrats) are constantly calling on people LIKE these widows and Cindy Sheehan to speak out.. and then no one can respond to them because they would be somehow questioning their grief as authentic.. sort of this "well i have gone through grief and now im an expert on the subject and you can't respond to me because that would be mean and heartless"

Why did these widows have to make the point? Why not Bill Clinton, like she pointed out, someone that can be responded to.

And I'm not taking sides here.. let us remember that I'm no longer Republican and I'm not a Democrat.. I just think it is an interesting point.

Brandon, I cant believe you are still defending/supporting Coulter. The woman is a freak

And your assertion that Dems USE people like these women is laughable especially since it wasnt that long ago that Jeb Bush and Monkey boy and the Republican Senate/House members were so involved in the Terri Schiavo affair!
How quickly you forget! Talk about TOOLS!

What does she say about public school teachers? (I just resigned as a public high school teacher and I've gotten a job teaching at a university.) Do I have yet another reason to hate that bitch who just loves to talk about crap she knows nothing about? As if I need any more.
