This makes me so angry

Why are women who had some fame at one time in their lives allowed to write books all the time and get paid for them? http://www.creativecorrection.com/coffee.html My best friend has written children's books since she was a young woman. She can't get any of her books published yet but this stupid ex-tv star has all kinds of advice books being published every year. My friend struggles to survive as a single mom and it just doesn't seem fair that some people have all the luck. Now Lisa Whelchel's mother is now going to be involved in writing. I guess it's who you know or whose butt you can kiss:( The world has gone completely nuts to allow this to happen. Isn't Lisa the one that said to put hot sauce on your young child's tongue if they misbehave???? Glad she isn't my mother. |

Lisa Whelchel is one crazy goddamned woman and I LOVE IT!! The ultimate Christian fundie.
Her blog and website provide endless entertainment, people!! The one where she described spanking her children was especially winning. |

Only when I swore, though. It was either that or an actual bar of soap shoved into my mouth. The worst was when I'd get liquid soap. I'd be gagging all night long and the more water your drink, the more you seem to taste it. With hot sauce, water makes it worse. I quickly learned to eat a cracker or a piece of bread; they get rid of the spiciness. |
I will not stand to hear any disparaging words spoken of my beloved Blair. Blair was hot.
Plus, any woman who posts all three versions of the "Facts of Life" theme song in both WAV and MP3 form on her website for all the world to enjoy is a certifiable saint. Do not speak ill of Blair again, or you shall incur my wrath. |

Are you trying to tell us that you were one spicy, hot little spitfire when you were a kid:lol: My mom slapped me on the mouth (not hard) because we were out shopping and I wanted a pair of knickers (this was in the 70's people!) and she thought I said a bad word-the N word. She apologized for her mistake too. I never cussed until I had been married a looooonnnng time:lol: Hubbies can make you get so mad sometimes:rolleyes: |
I see your point about the books, but hot sauce on the tongue seems very appropriate and very minor to me. Way better than soap, in fact. I mean, it's just hot sauce. Which most people grow up to like. At least it's food.
You know what would be a real punishment? I tasted it when I was 3, and it scarred me for life: Baker's chocolate. AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! *le barf* |
I remember back during the 1988 Pesidential election a newsperson was listing all the celebrities that were stumping for the Democrats when Shrub senior quipped "well we've got Lisa Whelchel !" like it was some great coup .I think I spit out my coffee.

Maria's Story Minute....
It was Easter Sunday. I was 5. We were at my very religious great aunt's house, with my very religious grandmother, and my not-at-all religious folks. Here I was, prim and proper in Easter clothes, coloring, quietly, alone, in my book. I must have gotten out of the lines, because I erupted, threw the book and crayons, and loudly yelled "F*CK IT". I did not get soap. I did not get hot sauce. I got my ass beat with the belt. That is so taboo these days, but a little "reinforcement" every now and again won't hurt. I don't remember this incident at all. |

    I can't believe you did that! That's hilarious. I never did cool stuff like that... yes, I've been vanilla extracted, it's not cool. Thanks for the heads up on the rootbeer. Although, I bet it smells good. I could wear rootbeer perfume. *patent pending* |

You've sneaked into the kitchen... jumped up on the counter to get to the top shelf in the kitchen cupboard... snagged the box of chocolate... and... graaaaah!!! I will never forget it either. I still shudder when I walk by the stuff in the grocery store. Not sure I agree with hot sauce on the tongue. Isn't that tantamount to torture? A poor little young tongue? But I don't know what the solution is. I swear way more than I would like to - but it just comes out. I don't think putting hot sauce on my tongue would help. It's just part of my vocab. Pops out before I even have time to consciously stop myself. I'm open to suggestions... |

She went to my father one night, got right up in his ear, and wispered to him, "I'm not supposed to say damn..." What do you do? Nothing. Laugh behind their back, because it is pretty hilarious. If you ignore it, to them it's really not that big a deal, ya know? There's bigger and better things to battle about. |

Now that is cute:lol: I would be laughing too. We have a six year old grandson and he says some funny things, not cussing, but some of the stuff that comes out of his mouth, we just can't ever finish dinner when he is around. Everyone has food all over them:lol: |

I wish she did. She doesn't even have her computer hooked up anymore:distress: I have read some of the stuff she has written and it is very cute. I hope someday she will find a publisher. If it gets published, I will let everyone know. |

The chocolate reminded me of the time my two brothers and I gave our other brother some broken bits of chocolate bars. Of course, it was EX-Lax but we didn't know it. We had found it in a kitchen cabinet (not the pantry) and thought it tasted okay. The one brother ate almost all of it and he was sick for a couple of days. Another time, our parents had put some of that Morgan David wine in a decanter that has a pump and cute little shot glasses. Well, we thought it was grape Kool-aid and we thought the glasses were kid sized and we gave drinks to all the kids in the neighborhood. My mom and the neighbors looked out the window of the house across the street to find all these little four to seven year old kids walking funny up and down the street laughing (we lived on a dead end). We all were really tipsy:lol:  My parents really needed to stay home more often now that I think of all the dumb things we did as kids:lol:  |

He's also learning to read and has gotten really good at sounding words out. I was talking to my husband in front of him about an incident when someone was being cussed out. My son asked me what the person said, and I told him it was some bad words that I wasn't going to repeat. So he asked me "was it B-I-C-H"?! I was amazed that a) he knew that word, and b) that he came so close to actually spelling it correctly! |

Instead of doing that, I howled & moaned & screamed & shouted as if I was being murdered. My mother would just laugh and say "Are there any other dirty words you want to say to me?" It all made me stop swearing in front of her, but when I was alone with my friends, I'd curse up a yellow ****storm and think I was clever because she couldn't hear me. |
