I have never seen an episode of american idol. never.

dissention 01-16-2006 11:10 PM

No one can ever be ready for such tackiness and sickeningly manufactured garbage being thrusted upon them.

I'll take it under consideration, but I make no guarantees.

GypsySorcerer 01-16-2006 11:15 PM

I just hope it's better than last season. :o

Sure they can! Bring it on!

I love the auditions. That's the best part of the season. You know you want to watch it, Diss......... :D

Wild_Heart03 01-17-2006 07:47 AM

The auditions are, by far, the best part of the whole show. Most of the rest of the season I watch off and on, but I'm glued to the TV during the auditions.

I'm with you- the auditions are the best. Tons of laughs! After that, it just gets super corny.

jannieC 01-17-2006 09:52 AM

The first season and last season were the only two I watched. I'll admit it- I love it. :woohoo:

Another season, another wonderful opportunity to. . .

Vote
For
The
Worst
!!!

That's right, the maddening craze that swept the nation is back for another year! During the initial auditions phase, the producers want you to be entertained by all the terrible performers. But then, in the finals, all the sudden we are expected to stop finding this terrible talent entertaining, and vote for who the judges and 19E entertainment have pre-selected as the winner. The Vote For the Worst philosophy says that American Idol is a joke, but the joke can be on them if we choose. We say "Screw the Man!"

Ya know, for ****s and giggles, I just might do that this year. But, does it really matter? For all we know, the voting is rigged.

JazmenFlowers 01-17-2006 12:18 PM

I love this show. It will be my new show to watch since all my "old" shows are on hiatus.

Having been through the audition process with AI a few times, I like to watch the auditions.

Livia 01-17-2006 01:26 PM

An article in today's paper said about a dozen people from the Austin auditions were sent to Hollywood.

I haven't watched a season in it's entirety since the first. Since then I've only watched the auditions. After that it's trash. This year however, depending on how bad it really is I may watch the whole season. It just starts to bore me once I get beyond the humor of the auditions.

I'm sure a lot of people know this but I know someone who auditioned and gave me the scoop (I had a feeling about this but wasn't sure). Thousands of people audition before they ever get in front of Paula, Simon, and Randy. These people they audition in front of pick people who are particularly bad to go in front of the official judges strictly for entertainment purposes knowing they will never make it through. The majority of people, good or bad, never make it in front of the official judges.

Red 01-17-2006 04:22 PM

I'll watch the auditions and that's it. I love the comic relief of the first few eps but then it just becomes the same old sh*t...very difficult to watch. Didn't that country chick win last year? And isn't she boring? Yep.

cliffdweller 01-17-2006 04:34 PM

Woo-hoo! Another season of hilarity. Diss, if you watch this show for its comedic value, there actually is a payoff in the end.

Ooh, the tan chick was my favorite. Paris Hilton's economically-challanged twin.

Mageboy25 01-18-2006 01:32 AM

Since ive watched the last 4 seasons im quite sick of it.

Tonight I half ass watched the auditions while i was online. I hated all of it, the bad people are so staged, same old songs boring boring. Since ive overkilled the past 4 years i may or may not watch most of it this season.

The whole feel to me is the same rehashed routine, kinda like a Stevie Nicks setlist, haha just kidding...........

Agreed. I watched it for about 1/2 hour while my laundry was drying and thought well, same 'ol ****. Everyone that can't sing get basically the same reactions from the judges, and everyone that CAN sing just sound like good imitators of already established pop stars. Also, hearing "My Girl" for the ZILLIONTH time on that friggin' show made me want to shoot my tele.

American Idol was here doing auditions this round, and I had several friends try out. None of my friends made it through to Randy, Paula, and Simon. :)

blue moon girl was my favorite
