Soap or Body Wash?

I never used to use body wash with those poof thingys but ever since I met Derek my boyfriend, I'm hooked. There really is a difference as far as I'm concerned. Plus, I've heard poofs are supposed to be good at ex-foliating your skin.

GODDESS6 01-03-2006 04:55 PM

i am a body wash girl:nod: ~

JazmenFlowers 01-03-2006 05:50 PM

how about both? I use Burt's Bees soap with the little granules in it to go over my body first (especially da dirrty parts) and then a body wash with moisturizer in it.

ryan8472 01-03-2006 06:23 PM

I love to use body wash. It makes me smell amazing (a must). :D

rbs3676 01-03-2006 06:36 PM

Kiehl's grapefruit body wash...it's heaven...

WildInTheWind 01-03-2006 06:52 PM

I usually just use a bar of soap.

I have enough to worry about with all of my hair care products.

Enchanted_Stevi 01-03-2006 06:55 PM

I use both...sometimes I am in the mood for using soap and a poof thingy and sometimes I want to smell extra good and I use my Black Raspberry Vanilla Bath and Body works body wash....it smells so good...along with the loations and body spray.

I use a poofy thing and Johnson's Body Wash for extra dry skin. The one that smells like baby powder. I love that stuff.

You know those poofy things are just filled with bacteria, right?

golden braid 01-03-2006 10:07 PM

I like to keep it really simple and just use a bar of soap.

amber 01-03-2006 10:11 PM

I like how body wash is all tidy - I mostly get that, some naturally kind from Whole Foods, specifically Natures Gate. But I've been into soap more lately, b/c whole foods was selling this special Pumpkin Spice soap around Halloween, and it smells so fricking good. It's also natural - mainly different kinds of oils make it up. That's what I get is either regular glycerin soap, or a soap made with only a few ingredients, most or all of which are plant oil.
Oh, I forgot - I use DHC Deep Cleansing Oil (basically olive oil) for my face. I don't really use soap on my face, only very occasionally.

I use the body wash with all those little beads. It feels good on my naked body.

A bar of soap is just fine for me, thanks.

BombaySapphire3 01-03-2006 10:43 PM

Body wash .I swim very often and it doesn't seem to dry your skin out as much with frequent use.

Miss Vicky 01-03-2006 11:00 PM

Body Wash. "Secret Crush" by Victoria's Secret. Pure heaven.

macfanken 01-03-2006 11:02 PM

bleach. it's the only thing that really gets you clean.

Unfortunately, it's not pleasant when it comes into contact with the anus.

are you scared of a little redness and burning?

sparky 01-04-2006 02:07 AM

Give me my Irish Spring, with or without a rag, and I am just fine.

That body wash stuff - it feels like and reminds me of dish soap.

On edit, let me add that Irish Spring leaves only an extremely faint smell of pine or lime that is gone in an hour. It disappears with the mildest fresh coat of sweat.

And specifically for guys and body wash - on what planet is a man's body and or crotch supposed to smell like apples, peaches, or jasmine ? I don't want my snout near that planet. Do straight girls like this or something ?

Irish Spring without a rag is the only way to go for me.

And I couldn't agree with you more... men should never smell like flowers or fruit. In the words of the immortal Annie Lennox... "I need a MAN."

For all you fans of body wash... or soap for that matter, there's a company call Rogers & Gallet and they make products that are all natural (bit not in a hippie way) and yummy, nothing synthetic smelling. The best soap they have, you ask? Lettuce. I sh*t you not. So f*cking good.

I still use a wash cloth but I use body wash too. I use an antibacterial + moisturizing combo. I hate bar soap. It makes my skin feel dry.

michelle2677 01-04-2006 08:52 AM

I usually have to use Ivory or Dove because my skin is so sensitive, but I use the bar of soap. Very rarely do I use the poofy thing

and the person that said they are filled with bacteria: you CAN wash them ya know ;) just dont dry them!! they shrivel up!

and I dont' know what it is, but I HAVE to use a washrag or something. I cant just use a bar of soap and lather up. It's not exfoliating. It's kinda like brushing your teeth with your finger or something. Blah.

Um, no, that's too gay.

Hubby uses Irish Spring too - ONLY Irish Spring. If I buy Zest or something, I'm in trouble. Same with deoderant (HAS to be Speed Stick fresh scent.)

I use Dove, Ivory or Oil of Olay body washes (whatever's on sale or I have a coupon for :D ), but they have to be for sensitive skin or my skin breaks out in a rash. That leaves out any B&B Works products, although I can use their hand soaps.

My fave is Suave-toasted vanilla and sugar body wash - and the same body lotion - yum! I use the poof. I toss them and buy new ones as needed...

However, I always have a plethora of various soaps, shampoos and conditioners at all times. I like variety. :)

Lettuce soap? How odd.

I use all natural Tom's of Maine unscented bar soap; all natural is the only way to go. That synthetic **** grosses me out. I like to use a cucumber scented one every once in a while, but it doesn't really leave much of a scent after it's used.

Livia 01-04-2006 12:59 PM

Has anyone tried Lush products? They are the bomb!!! They have some wild stuff. I bought a bunch of samples on ebay recently - and have been playing w/ them. I posted something awhile back about their clever names (some Stevie ones: Skin's Shangri-La, Mirror Mirror, Enchanted eye cream, etc...)

The soaps, bath balls and melts are awesome. I've been using this facial scrub (Angels on Bare Skin) that looks like cookie dough. And another face cleanser (Aquamarina) that's like a pink yogurt with seaweed in it. Most of their products have expiration dates, cuz they don't have preservatives. It's all handmade.

I'm totally with you..i love the poof b/c you get such great lather with a small amount of wash or soap. I must have 15 different washes/soaps in my bathroom currently. My best friend and I call ourselves soap collectors. I keep them in my lingerie drawer until I'm ready to use them.

Leave it to you !

Homegirl, guys like what we like. God help ya if want it to change it. I think it is like Ford or Chevy. I think you got that one figured out !

I buy Irish Spring in those big bricks - like, twelve of 'em.
In the old days, when I used deodorant, I would only use Speed Stick, Lime. I was extremely particular about it.

At one point, ten years ago, they stopped selling it in LA. I had my friend in Seattle ship me a dozen of them. Then they discontinued it altogether, and I now I just smell like my natural Sparky self.

I buy the big bricks of soap too! He likes the moisturizing kind now, so I keep my eyes out for that.

Don't get me wrong, I have preferences too. But if they don't have my Secret Platinum Powder Fresh scent, I will buy Mountain Rain scent before I hike my ass to another store.
