I can...

The thread to brag about your many abilities.

I can...

...bake awesomely good Christmas Cookies. See "Holiday baking" thread for details.

...raise one eyebrow up independently of the other. Oh, I can also wiggle my ear - now that'stalent.

...take nice photos. I'm not a pro by any means, but my subjects are centered, I don't cut heads off, I try to get nice backgrounds, etc. Friend & fam always wants copies.

...drive well in the snow. Not too fast, but not too slow either. I can drive the speed limit, keep control of the car & not slide around all over the place unlike these asses that I live near.

...keep in touch. I try really hard to stay in contact with friends & fam, even if we're miles apart & don't see eachother anymore. I think it's really important.

What can you do? :)

Lisa1769 12-15-2005 10:58 PM

I can make a perfect pie crust. I finally mastered it. For some reason it helps if the water you add is ice cold.

I can flip my eyelids inside out.

I can read and write Braille. I'm working on getting transcriber's certification and I've been asked to teach a visually impaired student at my school the basics of reading it so he doesn't have to depend on large print so much.

I can communicate in basic sign language (and if she's really desperate, my mom can too).

I can teach anyone over 3 years old how to play piano.

I can navigate my way around Houston :blob1:

...and I think that's about it. I'm not even going to go into what I can't do, I'd be here all day.

The Tower 12-15-2005 11:15 PM

I make really good fruit pies.

I can play over ten different musical instruments.

I can write orchestral arrangements.

I do a blistering karaoke version of "Kashmir" by Led Zep.

I can sleep through anything.

I can speak to and communicate with people from all walks of life with grace (thanks to my parents).

Raise one eyebrow

Do the "Live Long & Prosper" thing with my fingers

Do a couple of things that should not be discussed in mixed company!

That is because fruit can break down very rapidly when heat is applied with sugar. I suggest using only fresh fruit (ahem Tower) and natural sugar (unrefined) -

Lol

I just saw the first LOTR not long ago on TBS (I think it was), and then last Sunday, I finally saw The Two Towers. I need to see ROTK. I really enjoyed them, but I always dig that type of stuff. I just can never find anyone to go see those type of movies with me.

IMO - The Two Towers was the best, though all were great, esp. the extended editions. Come to Atlanta and we can watch them all in my ex's home theatre currently being built

Oh, don't listen to him. The Two Towers is the weakest by far. The best is The Fellowship of the Ring extended version.

You know, Christy, if we lived closer I'd have to fix you up with my brother. I don't why exactly, but I just think you two would really click.

wondergirl9847 12-16-2005 01:12 AM

Js....

Hehe. We would eh?

Email me a picture (head shot, profile and full body), full stats (height, weight, favorites, etc.), a blood sample and I will check into it.

I will judge which LOTR is my fave....when I see ROTK.

I can also:

-Draw portraits.

-Correct other people's grammar.

-Memorize random facts.

-Write short stories.

-Play badminton fairly well.

estranged4life 12-16-2005 03:15 AM

I can...

Draw (Won so many stupid ass art awards as a kid that it became annoying to me) Whereas most kids drew stick figures and rainbows I drew WWII battle scenes and my teachers asked where did that influence come from...Hell if I knew, I just drew what I pictured in my mind.

Do Algebra (In my high school you had to have 4 credits of Algebra to graduate-The 4 credits had to be in either Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Algebra 3, Trigonometry, Trig 2 or Computer Science Math)

Beat anyone at "Name that Tune"....Hehehehe!!!

Be an asshole when annoyed!!!

Keep my sense of humor no matter how tragic everything in my world seems to go.

And finally collect cd's/tapes/LP's/etc. like a packrat (Collecting s a family hobbie, Everyone in my family collects something, And yes we all take it to the extreme!)

ryan8472 12-16-2005 06:57 AM

I can...

- Beat anyone in Whiffle Ball (Yes, this is the feat for which I am most proud. )
- Do all the dance moves to 'Beat It' ;)
- Bend my fingers in weird ways, because I'm double jointed.
- Swim
- Tell jokes straightfaced (a very important quality to me ;) )
- Improvise basically anything
- Repeat the dialogue from any episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and every movie.
- Repeat the dialogue from all 6 of the Star Wars films.
- Do a good kareoke Stand Back. :p
- Profess to having a girl's handwriting

danax6 12-16-2005 07:18 AM

I can..

speak three different languages fluently, and one half fluently.

make a mean cocktail with virtually any kind of ingredient, as long as there is alcohol involved.

come up with a solution for any kind of practical problem. (You don't want to know how I hung up my drapes in the kitchen because the wall is too weak to hold a rail. ) My sister calls me McGyver sometimes.

put together *and* take apart an entire computer system in under 20 minutes. For a girl I am good with all things technology. Hah!

function properly on only a couple of hours of sleep.

decorate. I think I missed my calling as an interior designer.

listen to a song once or twice and sing along with it perfectly the third time. My mind has an endless storage capacity for lyrics and words. In highschool I only had to read a text once or twice to get an A for my exam.

play poker and actually win.

I can't think of anymore...my list for the 'I can't's' would be longer. ;)

I have to say that one was FAB as well!!!!!! :woohoo:

I went a lecture on IT the other day. It was well done, but the weirdos eventually took over the Q&A afterward with movie bashing. I get that the movie was in no way as good as the books and Jackson took many liberties to cater to the "kids," e.g. the prolonged battle scenes that took like four pages in the book - but the movies were IMO a magnificent and motly faithful homage to the books. IMO, there should have been five movies - oh alrighty 10

BTW - on topic - I CAN talk LOTR all day long.

If they still stood, may the lights of Laurelin and Telperion shine on you, filling you with bliss and wisdom

sara1998 12-16-2005 08:14 AM

I can...

be a real bitch sometimes (I'm feeling guilty this morning :distress: )

be real sarcastic!
draw fairly well
make people laugh

Mari 12-16-2005 09:09 AM

I can...

- move my eyes in different directions separately (one eye watching straight ahead, the other one at the left or right)
- hold the fingers of my left hand at a 90 degree angle in the wrong direction (backwards)
- hear pitch perfect (this can be quite annoying)
- hum/sing or play along (guitar) with a song the first time I hear it
- remember a lot of lines from star trek voyager, especially Janeway's :D
- do a pretty good Stevie whenever I have a cold
- do a lot of accents (dutch and english) (well... I bet a native english speaker would probably say I CAN'T ;) )
- tell someone to piss off, eloquently (and they don't expect it from me because I'm the quiet type) (which makes it a lot more fun)
- stand pain (especially headaches) and go on with whatever activity

WildInTheWind 12-16-2005 10:15 AM

I can.....

Bend my fingers backwords to where my fingertips touch the backs of my hands.

Clasp my hands behind my back, and bring them over my head to the front of my without detaching them. Hard to explain, but very freakish.

wrap my legs around my neck and several other stange bendy things that I can't really explain

bite the top off of an aluminum can. Not the pop top, the whole top of the can.

I can draw a bit. there's my normal one
