bat mitzvah pics

Thanks for tracking those down. Im very surprised that Don, Stevie and Tom agreed to do this.... how sad :distress:
|
The picture is cool, but some of the people's comments are really mean. :distress: Aside from the anti-Semetic comments, I hate how they say the girl couldn't possibly like Stevie Nicks and Don Henley. I would have loved having Stevie at my bat mitzvah three years ago. But not all Jews are that rich.

I don't think this is sad at ALL! Stevie provides a service, the guy met her asking price, it's THAT simple. Why is it such a bad thing that this woman WORKS for a living and is VERY successful at it??? It's a fun business transaction, everyone had fun and no one got hurt. By the way, I've just learned that an "average" Bar Mitzvah costs about $40,000 - this is a REALLY big deal - so it's not "out of line" for someone this wealthy, who earns his living by keeping our soldiers safe (he makes bullet-proof vests), to spend this much on it. Just like Stevie, he works hard for his money. From Steve Martin, 1983: "OHHHH, so it's a PROFIT thing!!! " |
They're calling it Mitzvahpalooza
mwahahahaha.. cracked me up! ciao! Ash x |

Ok, now I actually believe it! I had to see it.....and wow, I can't believe what a party that little girl had! I can't lie, Im jealous.
|
wow.... those pics just make me shake my head. :distress: Not because I'm jealous of the party or of not being there, but because, well, I don't really know. It just looked VERY odd and wierd. Especially those photos of Steven Tyler up in the party princess's grill. That just looked so...."bought"... you know? Then I saw Stevie there with Don and it was like, jeez. :(
I don't know what else to say. |

But did you check out the ginormous Jesus hanging around Steven Tyler's neck? Talk about taking it and sticking it at the same time! That is absolutely my favorite pic, EVAH!!
But is it me... or is Joe Perry looking more and more like Patti Smith these days? |

 Pfffffffffffffft! Unfortunately, I'd have to agree with you. Poor Patti, she rocks though, ain't no doubt about that. Oh yeah, I almost failed to mention this: Steven Tyler is an idiot . |
It's a free country. WHat the artists did doesnt bother me.
|
As I said in an earlier thread about this, it really doesn't bother me on the artist side of it (and I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Don Henley's entire fee went to one of his charity foundations). The dad who held the party is the one who makes me sick. Ghost Tracker, do some research on this guy and the bullet proof vests he provides for the military. Then come back and tell us if you think he's such a nice guy.

Military recalls 18,000 DHB vests Nov. 18 2005 -- 4:09:14 PM EST by CLAUDE SOLNIK WESTBURY - The Army and Marine Corps have recalled about 18,000 bullet-resistant vests produced by DHB Industries' Point Blank Body Armor Inc. subsidiary, according to wire reports. Reuters said that the Army and Marine Corps announced the recall on Thursday. The Army recalled 8,083 vests out of a total of 873,000 it has used in the field. The Marine Corp recalled 10,342 out of about 191,000 being used. DHB did not return two calls to its offices seeking comment about this recall. The Marines already recalled 5,000 vests made by Point Blank in May, Reuters said. The wire service indicated that the military said vests were being recalled because they fell short of specifications set for the equipment. But Reuters said the military said the vests were not believed to have put soldiers in danger, since its own threshold for strength is higher than they are expected to require in the field. DHB Industries on Tuesday said it had received a new order for $30.1 million from the U.S. Army for additional vests. Shares of DHB slipped 7 percent in midday trading to $3.63 on the news of the recall. http://www.libn.com/breakingNews_detail.cfm?id=4238 So, DHB is not that bad  |
Wow only one pic of Stevie????? and How many of Steven Tyler.....lol
|
So, I'm thinking -- how do you top this when his daughter gets married?
Maybe the Stones will still be around then. Or at least Keith Richards, for sure...... LOL! |

Well, we know Stevie did GDW, and that she was using a teleprompter. You'd think that with all that money, whoever decorated the place could have put a decent looking skirt on the front of the stage. Notice the people watching Stevie and Don ? Not a soul under 40. All the girls were too busy having their pictures taken in their cute outfits. I lost count of the implants and nosejobs. What a 7 alarm trainwreck. All of my suspicions are confirmed. God Bless America. . |

And I also read the one, biased, factually deceiving article you guys are mentioning. There were some problems which crept up with the body armor. They have since been fixed. There are ALWAYS problems with complex military equipment which have to be fixed. Also, it's the army's responsibility to give him the specifications they require. He met the specifications they requested. Yes I realize there's another side to it but what can I say, that's my opinion. My main point is that this guy deserves the benefit of a doubt before labeliing him an "Evil Defense Contractor" based on one article which was extremely biased and factually incorrect, in a way which, to me at least, seemed intentionally deceiving. There's always more to the story, and it seems quite clear to me that the person who wrote that article had an agenda. The government asked Brooks to provide a product, and he did that. Some problems occurred, as they always do, and he met his responsibilitities by fixing them. Being a defense contractor doesn't make someone the devil. And I realize there's a lot of B.S. that has gone on involving defense contractors and wars. I don't disagree with that. What I would like to try to point out, is that it's perhaps wrong to automatically lump this guy in with that bunch without REALLY knowing all the facts first, just because you disagree with the war or whatever. Anyway that's my honest, clueless opinion. |
Oh.My. I just viewed the pics. If that ain't the wierdest thing I've ever seen. I mean, the changing of outfits throughout the night and then into bathrobes. Good god Steven Tyler is ugly! He scared the fricken crap out of me!

Just how Steive has said so many times how its about art and blah blah and that she perform to her fans and her whole aura, light, art thing that she goes on about. How her music means so much and etc... come on she just said in the womans weekly how she "gave art her all" instead of having children... I see no "stevie art" in this performance. I completely agree that money is money and that people have to earn there money etc.. Well in that case she shouldn't always label her shows as things what they are not. Im saddened because it seems hypocritical of her. |

How pathetic is it that Stevie used a teleprompter? For GOLD DUST WOMAN?!?!? The chick has sung this song probably 1,000 times and she can't remember the lyrics?!? I can only hope that the teleprompter was put there by the party organizers for all of the performers as part of some contract or something. Otherwise..... OY!!!
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b9...arrassment.jpg The caption for this one reads, "Man, it's so great that I'm not married anymore (not that it stopped me before). I'll be banging these chicks in the coatroom in five minutes!" http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b9...hboot/bang.jpg And finally, here they are folks- The Future of America. Good luck! http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b9...eofamerica.jpg |
I don't think it's hypocritical of her. There's art, heart and soul in her music, she did give a lot up to her art, she does seem to believe in that all, but that doesn't mean she has to be rueled 24/7 by her beliefs and sit at home surrounded by candles and meditating every night she's not giving a truly heartfelt performances to people she knows are her truest fans. Maybe she just wanted to go to a party? Maybe she went beause Don wanted her to? Maybe she just went because hse had nothing better to do that night? Maybe she did give a hertfelt performance herself? Maybe I'm deluding myself into believing in her no matter what, but it's possible.

and the cycle goes on....... reminds me of the stories of ancient Rome as it descended... bread and circuses... expensive parties of indulgences...Roman philosopher Seneca wrote, Cum ad cenandum discubuimus, alius sputa deterget, alius reliquias temulentorum [toro] subditus colligit, "When we recline at a banquet, one [slave] wipes up the spittle; another, situated beneath [the table], collects the leavings of the drunks". I am sorry, this party is just so sad on so many levels.....but then again, it really doesn't amount to much in the end.
