John McVie thanked everyone in his birthday thread

In case you missed it, I thought I'd tell people. Because it's incredibly cool of him to do that. :)

gldstwmn 11-28-2005 06:00 PM

How f*cking cool is that? :blob2: :blob1: :]

Sahara 11-28-2005 06:00 PM

Chris - so very, very, very, very, very cool. :blob2: :woohoo:  But then we know he's cool, yeah?

Serrart 11-28-2005 06:04 PM

He's a real class act.

That was why I sent him the direct link to that thread, because he'd never have seen it otherwise, and it was so full of nice comments. I figured it'd make his 35th birthday a bit less traumatic LOL. I think we gave him a cool little present; he said he was 'blown away.' :p

Although I'd be very surprised if he now decides to hang out at the Ledge LOL,just the fact that he immediately wanted to say 'thanks' speaks volumes. Is he not the sweetest? How does one not love this man? :xoxo:

I thought that was cool...

much better than finding out a website you post on is owned/ran/operated by an almost famous musician (ie-MetalSludge is owned by Tuff singer Stevie Rachelle...Who wouldve thunk it??)

I'm blown away by the fact he came and said "thanks". He truly is a class act. (Plus I'm secretly thrilled he replied in the thread I started. :D )
Thanks for sending him the link Lis.
I knew everyone would have lovely things to say about him. We all have our favourite members of the Mac but John McVie is the one we can all agree on -everyone loves him I reckon

Gailh 11-29-2005 08:24 AM

It just proves what we've known all along - John is a diamond geezer!

You're very welcome! It was a pleasure to know it made him happy.

If someone had told me back in my teenage years, when I lived and breathed Fleetwood Mac every second of the day (okay maybe i still do, to a degree LOL) that someday I'd be able to wish John McVie a happy birthday and he'd actually know about it, I'd have fallen flat on the seat of my Jordache jeans. :) The internet still amazes me.

Yes. This was a great treat! :blob1: Thanks Lis!

Maybe I should censor what I say about the band now since there are members around. hehe

Yes, I'm sure they'll all be offended by how much you love everything.
John'll be like "OMIGOD! THAT DUDE LOVES ALL THE SONGS WE EVER DID!!!! THAT BASTARD!!!!"

 :xoxo:

Oh, and, john answering was ridiculously exciting to me today. I loved it. I loved it.

Yeah. And didn't you recently turn into someone who even likes Desert Angel? I know it's solo, but still. The point holds.

You're exactly right!! For someone like him to take the time to come here and do that, speaks volumes about his class. Most stars view places like this beneath them I think.

Shoot, that's all the more reason not to censor ourselves. The last thing we need is the members of Fleetwood Mac thinking we're all complacent and happy with the status quo.

I vividly remember Mick proclaiming that very thing at the last show of the SYW tour in Detroit on 9-14-04.
