Have you checked out the Circuit City ad? I think I peed a little bit when I read it. They might as well be giving the stuff away. :laugh:

I bought a few things last week (Lindsey's Soundstage DVD, West Wing Season Three, etc.), but knowing that Black Friday was around the corner, I suppressed the urge to buy anything else. :laugh:

Cool. I did half my shopping on Target.com last week. I can't wait for the stuff to arrive. I love shopping - even for others! :D Plus I got myself some Izaak Misrahi shades, I hope they look good! I didn't even think of waiting until Black Friday, duh. But then again, I hate the stress of competitive shopping so I might not do it.

I think going out at 5am on the day after Thanksgiving, frankly, is for suckers.

I was pretty out of control. :D But, some of the DVDs I bought are going to be Christmas gifts.

I've worked for in/out of retail for 7 years. There are no real deals...and the stuff that is on sale is the stuff the company has a ton of markup on.

I'll only go to stores I can walk to... I don't want to deal with the mall traffic.

yes. and for that one time of the year they stop gouging the paying public for quite as much. Its a dirty shame that we pay the high prices the rest of the year considering the 200 percent markup.

The printer I want is HALF PRICE at Circuit City!! It's an early bird special... I wonder how early? Hmmm.

EXACTLY my point! Is it worth it to you to get up at 4 or 5am, then stand in a line outside the store...only to rush in with the cattle...and maybe or maybe not get the item you're looking for? Like I said, Black Friday is for suckers. Stay at home and enjoy the fact that you're not out in that mass of stupidity.

Yeah I know I sound like a bitter old coot, but dont get me wrong, I like buying presents for my family and friends. I really do enjoy buying gifts for people that I care about...but I f*cking HATE the whole day after Thanksgiving BS. Makes me wanna pee on somebody.

Oh I love it. Especially around 5-6am when the sun is starting to just come up. The only downer is...depending on how much sleep you got, you may feel tanked the rest of the day. But, its always worth it.

it would take a helluva lot more than a hundred bucks to get me out of bed at 4:00 am on my day off.

i did it for years. I know-it sucks. just pray that the people are considerate and swift.

I fought with an incredibly uppity little **** at Circuit City last year on Black Friday when she tried to tell me that they weren't price matching that day. I told her to read the flyer and she said the flyer supported her assertion, so I stood in front of customer service and read it aloud for everyone to hear. Then they tried to simmer me down by saying that I was going to get the price match and the extra ten percent, to which I bitched at them that I shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get the discounts promised in their circulars and that I should have gotten it to begin with.

So, in my experience, the employees can be just as much of a **** as the customers. :laugh:

I worked at Victoria's Secret and a lady cussed me out because her credit card declined(as if it were my fault). So NATURALLY I felt bad for the lady. She acted surprised it had declined, so I asked if she would like me to call the company. "HELL YES I want you to call the company..that's BULLLLL SH*T" ...um...yeah...so I called. Come to find out-she hadn't made a payment in 3 months. YEP! That'll do it. haha...so she got pissed...and made a scene in front of the 16 lines of customers scanning a mile long. Then asked ME for a pair or scissors so she could cut up her card. Ha...I should have given them to her. It's not like she'll be needing it anymore ;)

haha....yeah I do remember. And fond memories they were. I think its a good thing I look to the cold shower instead...otherwise I'd tear into you like a bag of candy!

Well ..."tear into the bag of candy" ever so delicately, that is. Although I'm bad with getting bras off...I mean, terrible. It's pretty mortifying. All of my past "steadies" got a big laugh out of it.
