ok, so here's the scenario. a good friend of mine works with a guy who is in a band who was just signed to a production deal by dallas austin. she said she talked to her friend and gave him an old demo cd of mine and he said I should send in an updated demo with 3 or 4 songs - each from different genres - something to show my range and ability to do different styles. OMG. I'm so excited, but not getting any of my hopes up since I know that they may be blowing smoke, but it's fun to think and dream. now, I have to come up with songs to sing - suggestions?

SuzeQuze 11-09-2005 05:05 PM

That is incredibly exciting! :blob2: Pick songs with your heart.

That's cool, Jason. Have you ever posted your songs before? Did I miss them? Can I hear your voice so I can offer up some good suggestions?

Neal 11-09-2005 05:24 PM

Congratulations, that's pretty exciting!

Of course I'd suggest you include some Stevie, but that's just me...

Brwn_eyes0511 11-09-2005 05:27 PM

I posted my songs from the Gold Dust Project in, I believe, August. I'll try to do something tonight that you can listen to.

WelshWitchPMD 11-09-2005 05:35 PM

I didn't know that you were an artist. Good luck with everything!

well, I am deep in my heart. I've auditioned for American Idol (puke) 3 times and Making the Band (double puke) once. Never really worked, but then again, I'm glad. The people at Making the Band we really nice and liked me, but "weren't looking for a Justin Timberlake" kind of guy.

I would approach this...

with the attitude of "business as usual"...You never know what may become of this deal.

Good luck.

I just posted this on the Stevie forum and thought you guys might want to hear it too:

I just did this today when I got off work and I think it turned out ok. There are a couple of times I'm off key, but I was happy with it; especially the backing vocals. There is only one Stevie backing vocal track, the rest are me. In order to hear me, I had to turn the music way down so sometimes it was hard to hear where I was in the song. Hope you enjoy.

thank you very much. I'll post more soon. Once I get the whole GarageBand thing down, I'll post some Xmas songs maybe, but I think No Spoken Word will be next.
