Anchorman

Well, obviously by my signature, you can tell I liked this movie. In fact, it's one of the funniest ones I've ever seen. I have alot of friends that couldnt stand it. Do I not get it or what?

I'd have to agree with your friends... :sorry:

This movie was the absolute worst piece of crap that Will Ferrell has ever done. And he's done a lot of crap. I saw this at the theatre with a friend who wanted to see it for his birthday, and I almost walked out it was so stupid...

But if you like it that's awesome! :woohoo: :wavey:

No problem.:) We all see different things in movies I guess. The again, I loved SHe Devil with Roseanne too:eek:

DavidMn 11-08-2005 05:58 PM

Now I heard that soccer movie he made is horrible

SuzeQuze 11-08-2005 06:04 PM

I thought it was hysterical. There seems to be a lot of Farrel hatin' on this board.

GypsySorcerer 11-08-2005 06:06 PM

I am not a big fan of Farrell's, but I though Anchorman was okay. Any cameo by Vince Vaughn is fine by me. :)

gldstwmn 11-08-2005 06:07 PM

I thought it was funny but not something I could watch over and over again. I watched Sideways last night and didn't see what the fuss was all about.

He's let himself go. The last photo I saw of him and Aniston had him sporting a huge beer gut.

I agree...I thought it was a total waste of my time!!!

P.S. Neal: Bewtiched is a lot better...see it now!

I love that movie. But I have also known many people who didn't. Just one of those you either love or hate, I guess.

He has, but is it wrong of me that I'd take him anyway? :woohoo:

hayley 11-08-2005 06:11 PM

I ****ing love Anchorman. My favorite Will Ferrell will always be Old School, but Anchorman was great. Not as consistent as I'd like, but when it has its moments, it has them. Omg. The gun show, and the jazz flute, and the news brawl. I love it.

I think if I watch that one a few more times (when I'm not feeling sick) I think I'll like it better. Sandra Oh smacking that guy in the head with her bike helmet was pretty funny.

I loved Sandra in the film. I always laugh my arse off at the wallet scene.

That was good too! I might have to watch it again tonight.

 I totally agree! It's my all time favorite movie! But a lot of my friends hate it too. :distress: They just don't understand true comedy.

I enjoyed Anchorman, as did most people I know, so I'm surprised to see that so many people here don't care for it. It's certainly not a very cohesive movie, as often happens when there's so much improvising going on, but the funny moments are really funny, and they're not too few and far between to make it a bad movie.

The whole scene with Baxter and the bears is absolutely hilarious, at any rate.

As ever I agree with Hales. Her word is law.

Anchorman is hilarious. The end.

Maybe Jennifer can get him to go on a diet? :o

Serrart 11-08-2005 07:32 PM

It didn't arrive in our cinemas, but maybe it's possible to find it on video. Is it a satire about tv?

Romy

HomerMcvie 11-08-2005 07:37 PM

Sorry, gotta vote NOPE on Anchorman. I'm with the Ferrell hate camp.
:sorry: I just find him stupid.:sorry:

I have the absolute worst photo of Vince Vaughn that was just taken recently, but I have too much love and respect for Krista to post it. Let's just say that I didn't know it was possible to have three bags under each eye.

My favorite scene was the one between Giamatti and Madsen at Oh's house, talking about their love for wine. Such a lovely, beautifully acted scene.

The link doesn't work, but is it the one that was posted on Oh No They Didn't earlier? I threw up in my mouth a little. Nosehair trimmers are your friend, Vince.

It's because I'm allergic to Will Ferrell. He's as funny as a kick in the balls.

Tell me about it...

But our Nicole saved Bewitched!

"Hey, I'm turning on the sprinklers in my front yard!!!"...

AWWWWW! She is too cute sometimes! :xoxo:

macfanken 11-08-2005 08:21 PM

I thought it was boring... i fell asleep about half-way through and never saw the end.

She did save it. With help from Mo Rocca, Stephen Colbert, Jason Schwartzman, and good use of Talking Heads, of course.

I had to turn it off in the middle of the movie to pick up my cousin who was having a HUGE fight with her abusive ex-fiancé!....Never finished watching.

OMG! The Talking Heads scene is my fav. (as I already indicated)...I so want an animation of when she cleans up the house and cat is playing with the little peanut things in the air! :)

stargazer99 11-08-2005 08:49 PM

I enjoyed the movie. I went in knowing it would be stupid. But sometimes, I must admit, I'm actually in the mood for stupid, mindless comedy. Going into it with that attitude, I enjoyed it.

My favorite scene was the fight scene between the different news teams. It cracked me up!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

MY HEART!!!!

This movie is incredible!

Moony 11-08-2005 10:07 PM

I did not find it amusing in the least. I may have smirked at one or two places, mostly from Steve Carroll or whatever the feck his name is ("Loud noises!!")...but otherwise, I thought it was a worthless piece of dreck. Sorry

yup.

I prefer movies with substance (well...I do like the Goonies...that's an exception)

StevieNicksEO17 11-08-2005 10:44 PM

I actually just bought this on DVD like last week. But yes, I think it's a hilarious movie. I remember seeing it in theaters and laughing my ass off. When I watch it on DVD, it isn't so funny. Hm, who knows. Still love it though!

Romy

It's a parody of what 70's television news was like.

Livia 11-08-2005 11:22 PM

I thought it was funny, but not a must see, over and over again, classic comedy, imo...however, the Afternoon Delight scene is friggin' hilarious!
