I need to find a new place to meet boys. Boys that are cute. And gay. And my age. And who aren't workaholics, or just getting out of multi-year relationships. And who will return my phone calls. Am I asking for too much here?

Wouldn't a workaholic be something GOOD for you?

Why would a workaholic be good for me?

Boy that's tough. I met my guy at the bar, but that's a rarity from what I hear. We've been together almost a year, so that's pretty good. I wish you luck.

I hear ya. Austin was the WORST place to meet guys. Every semester, a new crop of queens to distract everyone. I didn't have a steady bf for the entire 5 years I lived there.

And just nitpicking here - but perhaps you should change your outlook on the matter. Try re-reading your first post. Replace "boys" with "men"...

"I need to find a new place to meet MEN..."

There really is a big difference. :xoxo: And good luck!

Great point. Lot's of my gay male friends always say boy. A boy should be under 18. No wonder so many of my friends have a problem finding someone.

That's because gays are the most age-obsessed people in the history of humankind. Ever. :wavey:

God forbid we actually grow up...

And yes, Neal is having a bitter day. :o

Totally bitter. :woohoo:

I am so not age obsessed. And better than ever at 39, frankly. Odd thing - all of a sudden every guy who is sniffing at me is under 30. Generally, I am so not interested in guys under 30. I have made a few exceptions lately...

Great, so I have to wait until I'm ancient before this dry spell ends? ;)

Ermm...I was using "boys" in a tongue-in-cheek kind of way. Austin is worse than Texas City? I can't imagine living anywhere else in Texas...or the south...I'd have to move to Massachusetts or Canada if I left here.

Once. If I don't get a call back, or if they seemed uninterested, I write them off.

Single girls on this board...I'm not gay:laugh:

markolas 11-08-2005 08:27 PM

And I don't appreciate some of the insinuations with regard to being age obsessed. I'm far from age obsessed. My last boyfriend was 50. :D :wavey:

Well, the age difference was the least of our problems. And no, the one who allegedly fooled around with Anderson was a different guy.

This guy who was a f*ck buddy of mine for a while (and not a very good one, I might add) interviewed Anderson in high school when Anderson worked for Channel One. The f/b now does PR for IBM, and I'm guessing he's met Anderson since then...and he claims that they fooled around. I'm not sure if I believe that.
