Some Northern New England Photos
Well sort of. I went away on vacation to NH, VT and central MA from Oct 26-30. I did not get as many photos as I would have liked to. All the places to photograph were right on the highway and we could not stop. The highlight of my trip was the stop in Keene, NH. It was a cute little town and I was able to discover something new to me in the area: Covered Bridges. There were 5 of them in like a 10-mile area maybe less then that but they were not too far from each other. It was exciting to follow the map and find the different covered bridges. Of course I went to photograph them on a cloudy day and they look rather dull.
Another highlight was the fact that the hotel in Keene had a computer in the lobby with free internet access that I could use anytime. Needless to say I checked in on The Ledge. Needless to say my friend was not too happy. Then I had to explain to her what The Ledge was. Not fun! OK here are some: Outside "The Orchard Store" in Contoocook, NH. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...P7112RT600.jpg Church in the town square of Keene, NH http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...7146Fix600.jpg |

Beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing.
We have lots of covered bridges here in the western part of our state. Every year, we have a Covered Bridge Festival. There's lots of booths and what not set up with crafts to sell. Anyhow, you can take driving tours of the bridges, and I absolutely love them. |

Yup. There was one in my college town....You had to drive through it just to get downtown. It's one of the only covered bridges that is still used for traffic in the US. It was weird seeing the bridge next to a NAPA. |

Pattie, these are great. I try to get up there every year but this year was in FL and when I returned we had that horrific weather. Last year I went up on my own and got some pretty cool pics. It seems to always be cloudy though! There is a covered bridge called the Blair Bridge right off of I93 just before the Waterville Valley exit. I got some pics of that but they are in print form so I'll have to find them. Below is a pic of the Mt Washington Hotel I took in 2000.

Oh man. I LOVE the Mount Washington hotel. Its gorgeous. I'll try to find some pictures I took of it last year I like Lake Winnipausakee more, though.

I haven't taken many photos in the last month and I wasn't really into it lately. The weather here in the past month had a lot to do with that and a few other things that I have no control over. I am glad to hear that people are enjoying them.:) |
Great pics!
