Beneath My Rearing

I want to publicly and formally apologize to Amber and anyone I offended in my recent speech to her.

Life is not that great for me now, but that is no excuse to take it out on someone with her wonderful and true spirit. I was rude, divisive, and a cad - all of which she did not and does not deserve for she is no liar. I was reared better than to treat a lady like she is like that. My only hope is she will show me she is a better person than I am and accept my apology as I value her intellect, friendship, and candor, despite my rank tommyrot posts to the contrary.

He is sweet. It was a misunderstanding. Actually, most of it was conducted in private, so you didn't really miss anything.
Oh, I apologize to Strand for nitpicking his post today. Although I do it often, it was still...rude? Yes, rude.
Sorry Strand. :xoxo:
Of course I accept. It sure is a magnificent apology, too. :p
But what else would I expect????
:xoxo: :xoxo: :xoxo: :xoxo:
*here's your chorus line of kisses from me*

Thank you.

I guess I should explain to the people. My mother is not well right now as her 10/2/05 surgery (hysterectomy) went poorly and they very well may have to go back in and clean it up. She is my best friend and at almost 80 that is always a problem; she may not survive it. It pains me greatly to see her in pain - and they say men are the strong ones - ha. To quote the greats, a picture of the lady she used to me. Most who have met me know how much she means to me. Once in a million years a lady like her rises - indeed.

What an elegant apology!

I too am sorry to hear about your mother, and I hope that she will be well soon.

David 11-03-2005 11:26 PM

I believe mom's gonna be okay, Jason. Hang in there, & you & Amber are both good so you should only fight playfully.

In fact, we should use the rule here that many couples use (or used to use): don't log off for the night mad at anyone or having fought with anyone without making amends.

Jason,

I'll keep you and your mom in my thoughts and prayers. All your posts, your impeccable taste, and especially the apology to Amber show you were raised by a truly refined Southern Belle. She will outlive us all.

Terry

That really is, literally, the most eloquent apology I've ever heard or read. But then, Strand is extroadinary by anyone's standards. :)

Mine wasn't a malaprop, I really meant "elegant"; however it is a most eloquent as well.

You two are like superpowers here, so I am glad you have returned to a mostly peaceful state.

Strand, I have enjoyed reading your descriptions of your mother, they are very vivid! As I said earlier, I hope she will recover soon.
