Christine/Fleetwood Mac 1971 BBC MP3's
I just got these in a trade. They're live Fleetwood Mac tracks from the BBC in early 1971.
This one is Dragonfly, with Chris on backing vocals. http://s47.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3...L3HOLK53IKJ4Z1 Here's a very early version of Morning Rain. It has different lyrics from the eventual album track & even a different working title...Start Again. http://s50.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3...G01EIA7XZ5FG9C Here's Get Like You Used To Be. At the very end, someone yells Weeehooooo! It sounds like Chris. http://s49.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1...61PSO7MFRXYSN5 |
wow! These are really good. Thank you, Mary Anne!

Well, I just fell out of my chair.
*downloads!* Thanks! Wow. Now, don't shoot me, but I've never even heard Morning Rain. I'm glad you posted it, since I'm curious to hear what it sounds like. I fell in love with the lyrics. |
Thanks for the downloads, Mary Anne! :blob2:

Damn doorbell! God, why are kids coming here so early?! Start at seven! I'm not ready yet. I don't even have a costume to wear to hand stuff out in. Maybe I'll squeeze into a pair of hiphuggers ( ) and this red and white stripe-y shirt I have and go as Chris. LOL. |

Wow, the version of "Get Like You Used to Be" here is so much stronger than the one featured on the "Madison Blues" set. Christine is much more in control of her voice and her piano gives the song an added lift. |
And the version of "Morning Rain" is, to my way of thinking, far superior to the album version. Christine actually sounds like Christine here, whereas on the album she sounds like a woman pretendiing to be a five-hundred pound man. The live version tempo is up and poppy, and the mix never sounds thick like it does on "Future Games." What were the band thinking featuring the version they did: I mean, the piano and Kirwan's guitar on the album's take is excellent, buut that's all. Everything is else is almost distastrous.

wow! thankyou!
oh my god her voice is stunning! theyre amazing! i always thought her voice wasnt quite as amazing as it is at that time sometimes but i was wrong! these are just gorgeous!!! shes amazing! |
This Morning Rain is in the key or D flat or D (Can't tell from tape variation, it's in between).
The album is in the lower key of B, which makes a big difference. I don't know why they recorded it in such a lower key. |

Thank you for this bit. I knew I weas hearing more than just a difference in attitude between the two. And as far as D goes (Not sure about D-flat), Chris has sung a number of her songs in that key. I'm thinking notably of "Don't Stop," which I believe is in D-major, and sounds a lot like the live version of "Morning Rain." |

Seriously though, I like the album version so much better than this one here (Thanks for sharing). |
