Did a search for Stevie on each site and it seems that the Melbourne, Brisbane, and Newcastle shows are through Ticketek, while the WACA show in Perth is through TM.

Whoah! I know that's in Australian dollars, but still... that's a lotta scratch for Stevie Nicks tickets. F**king Andrew McManus. He should go get stuffed.

You know, before the summer tour, I'd never really heard of VC. But I was highly impressed by her. It's good that Stevie can get talented musicians out there for the public to learn about. But I'm not surprised cause she's that kinda person.

I knew who she was and like her "hit" songs, but didn't really know what she was like/what kind of artist she was, you know? Does that make sense? After seeing her, she seems really cool and very talented.

I'm just so happy that there's a young woman in music these days that gives a damn and isnt a mindless bimbo. What shows did you see?

It comes to about $140 US... pretty expensive, but less than tickets for the Vegas shows in May. Those were $170 face and rang up to $200 once all was said and done with taxes and fees. I actually expected the Melbourne tickets to be a lot higher because of the orchestra. I can understand the price for that one. The rest should be cheaper though, it's not like these are tiny venues like Caesar's Palace where they have to make up for the fewer number of seats.

I was only able to catch one Gold Dust show - in Dallas. The one where she says, "hello, I'm Stevie Nicks; no, actually, I just like to dress like her" or did she say that at every show?

No she said that quite a bit. BTW that was the show where I snuck up front right at the end of Landslide and when she came to me, I took her right hand with bth of mine and said, 28 years Stevie, and tapped my heart and said thank you. I swear she was looking right at me when I said that. The she nodded her head and winked at me!!!! I couldve die right there. The right hand picture in My sig is from the Dallas show. The second from the right is from 5-11 in Vegas

MacMan 10-31-2005 01:58 PM

But these ticket prices are for "A" seating... So I'm sure the "B" and lower seating will be more reasonable. Can't imagine the whole venue at this price. Probably tier pricing like all over venues and shows.

Oh, right. If you go and look, there are different levels. But even top ticket price is a bit high.

Awesome! Thanks for posting, Tiff!

Well, Stevie's mom lost. Xcellent came in third. Makybe Diva won. I wonder if Stevie ended up betting on her. With a name like Diva, it would go right along with Rhiannon, Greta, Juliet....

It's a vintage dress from the 70's I think as well, I will try and put up the clip from before up as soon as possible but I have to take it from Set Top Box to Computer and then rip it so it might take a little.

Cool, thanks for recording it!

She wore a very similar dress with (pearls on the shoulders, but not the chest) for a lot of Street Angel promo stuff, and at the second Stormy Weather benefit in '02. Might even be the same one altered to have more pearls sewn on.

If anyone's wondering, this is a transcript of the little interview:

Interveiwer: Hello Stevie, wonderful to have you here at Melbourne Cup
Stevie: Thank you
Int:An exciting day for you?
SN: Yes, very
Int: Most important question of the day, what are you wearing?
SN: Well, this is a vintage dress made by a designer named Holly Harp, who actually died a long time ago. So this is from 1978 I've had this dress, and I pulled it out because I thought it was so spectacular that it should be worn again. So it really is lots of love in this dress.

And thats it. I was hoping she would've worn something other than black  She looks like she's going to a funeral....albeit a fantastic funeral

I told Nikki she looked like she was going to a mobster's funeral.

Johnny Stew 11-01-2005 03:14 AM

She looks AMAZING... so beautiful and elegant. Thanks for posting those pics, Tiff! :xoxo:

(Now if we could also find some without the "Getty Images" watermark across her face. I'll keep checking the AP Archives.)

+20 to Stew.

But, +10 to Diss in that no one else seems to realize it, or if they do, they don't care, and still think it's hella clever. Those people not being me. :xoxo: to Diss for keeping it "fresh".

Ok, well fmac over here we got them though fleetwoodmac fan club memberships, but what about this one??

Some help would be fab, dont want to get in the situation where we all call up ticketmast/ticketek like the general public only to get like 30 rows back... for fmac i got 3 set of tickets in the first 3, and one in row 5... cant go "Back" than that!

strandinthewind 11-01-2005 05:54 AM

Cool pics - thanks for posting.

In that last shot, the gathering of the dress under her boob makes it look a little like the dress she wore on the back of Rumors.

I think she looks great though and those earings are KILLER!!!!

I probably would have just worn the pearls though and not the other two necklaces. Of course I would have opted for the pearls down the back

Well, done La Nicks - well done!
