Setlist Survivor Round 1

I've been thinking about doing this for a while now, but there've always been other "survivor" games going on & it's just too much for me to concentrate on, quite frankly ;) . I'm putting in every tune Stevie did in 2005 (I think I've got them all in there.)

I won't give a set time that the voting will end for each round - every few days I'll count 'em up & start a new round.

Enchanted
Outside the Rain
Dreams
Stop Draggin' My Heart Around (with Don)
SDMHA (w/o Don)
Rhiannon
Sorcerer
Stand Back
Landslide
GDW (with Don)
GDW (w/o Don)
If Anyone Falls
Fall From Grace
How Still My Love
Edge of Seventeen
I Need to Know
Beauty and the Beast
Leather and Lace
So You Wanna Be A Rock and Roll Star
Circle Dance (with Don)
Circle Dance (w/o Don)
Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You
Rock And Roll

I Need To Know

I don't hate the song, but it was tired. I was absolutely thrilled when she dumped it & put in different covers instead.

Round 1 - "Rhiannon"

I never want to hear it done live again....

Round 1: Fall From Grace

Lackluster.

If ya can't hit the note, then drop the damn song.

JazmenFlowers 10-29-2005 02:01 PM

Sdmha

I never really liked this song, other than the studio version.

GypsySorcerer 10-29-2005 02:04 PM

1 - Dreams

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Dreams

I know Stevie loves this song, but I'm not a big fan of it live.

Hawkeye 10-29-2005 02:10 PM

Round 1- Beauty and the Beast

So over rated this tour. It was the one song in Cleveland I didnt really like. I Need to Know was AMAZING. It better not go first. I guess I may have wasted my vote then, but Oh Well.

BTW Paula, Excellent Survivor idea. I stopped participating in them for awhile but this one has resparked my interest.

Dreams doesn't sound bad without the high notes. In fact, we are all used to it lowered and prolly never listen to the original. FFG has that big build up to "the note" and it fizzled every single time....It was a big tease with a bigger let down. It just doesn't cut it on stage.

See now, that's how I feel about Dreams. But I must see Rhiannon live! Sometimes you can still see a spark of the old Stevie when she does this song.

Of course not, but at least it comes early in the set so I can get it over with. ;)

FFG was a letdown, no doubt about it. I just enjoy giving you a hard time. :p

Good thing I'm not at my parent's house, or I would drive down and kick some Kentucky booty.

Round 1 - I Need To Know

It's been in her setlists far too long.

gldstwmn 10-29-2005 03:29 PM

SDMHA with or without Don.

SapphireSister 10-29-2005 03:33 PM

I Need to Know

It should never have been added to her live set in the first place let alone made it this long. If you are going to do a song that often do one of your own woman!

as were some of the RAL ones - SHIVERS I TELL YOU.

Personally, I do not like the song How Still My Love (though the GO ONE GET OUT) parts were cool in Vegas. But, she wrote it, so I did not choose it.

dissention 10-29-2005 04:34 PM

Dreams

Dreams. It was a toss-up between this boring thing and the currently dreadful Rhiannon. My sights are set on How Still My Love, though, because she absolutely butchered the climax of the song.

ontheEdgeof17 10-29-2005 04:45 PM

^^^ I agree with both of you.

HSML failed big time. The FFG into HSML....big mistake....it slowed the show down so much.

Wow, I loved that part. But then, I love FFG. And she was so saucy during HSML. And good god, at least they were songs she doesn't usually do.

Round & Round #1: "Leather And Lace".

Leather and lace
sit on my face

Nice song, but i tend to skip it in bootlegs so...

Round 1 Stop Draggin w/wo Don

It's difficult for me to pick a song because there are so many that need to be cut from the setlist. I love the studio version of this song but it's never been a favorite of my live. I don't think she should do it anymore unless Tom will sing it with her.

Dreammms 10-29-2005 08:51 PM

So You Wanna Be A Rock and Roll Star

It's basically just Don singing anyway.

I have never seen it work well live. I think she should save it for Tom.

I Need To Know

I concur with the general population: it was in for way too long.

I had the utmost respect for you Jason and now it's all gone. You've put a knife through my heart the that statement! I'll never be the same. HSML is a masterpiece!

SapphireSister 10-29-2005 09:28 PM

I sincerely wonder if Stevie really knew her die-hard fans were sick of certains songs and the general population did not want to hear them anymore if she would consider dropping them. Any thoughts? Is she totally obvlivous or is possible she would make a change?

Unfortunately, we're not the general population. She's gotta sing the hits to keep packing the seats.
