Stevie should sing with ......ME!:blob2: and/or with Michelle branch, I love her.
Or something cool and new with her and gwen stefani, since she is really hot right now and lots of people are listening.

I have always thought that a duet with Willie Nelson would be gorgeous.
I'm from Texas, what can I say? For many, Willie is an aquired taste, but the timbre in his voice would be so pretty with Stevies...

rbs

Mageboy25 10-19-2005 03:06 AM

A group song with Ann/Nancy Wilson, Debbie Harry, and Pat Benatar!!!

riff_Shuffler 10-19-2005 09:55 AM

Emmylou Harris....anyone familiar with her haunting "Wrecking Ball" album? Beautiful. I believe that their voices would compliment each other in the best way. Emmylou did "Weather Channel" with Sheryl Crow on Sheryl's "C'Mon C'Mon" album.

Also, Bonnie Raitt, which could happen after the "Circle Dance" appreciation from Stevie. :D

OMG - I always thought her voice would have been FAB with his on "Always on My Mind" and "On the road Again" - also, I can hear her now sing "Waylon, Willie, and the boys" - I am such a Willie fan as well!!!!

I wouldn't be opposed to it, but Stevie would kind of stand out amongst some of those power belters. I envision a remake of "No Exit". I would be incredibly amused hearing them all rap together. Just picture Stevie rapping:

Standing on the verge of the edge of the ledge
Waiting for me to fall, but then I got a call
It said "Wait, hold up homie!
You must be trippin!
You can't be putting that sippin and whippin up in your pippin!
You better stand tall, fool, you was born to bawl!"

My life would feel complete.

Emmylou could collaborate with Tito Jackson and make it sound good (although her new album with Mark Knopfler sounds, well, awful). Personally, I always thought that "Deeper Well" would make a great Stevie song as long as she had a good producer who didn't homogenize and overstuff the production, but that's, like, unrealistic. A joint effort by Stevie and Daniel Lanois could be pretty great...

Chrissie Hynde or Linda Ronstadt.

Enchanted_Stevi 10-19-2005 02:48 PM

I want to hear Stevie sing with Dolly Parton becaus ethey have such different voices.....Also I would like Stevie to sing w/ me....lol

Lee 10-19-2005 03:02 PM

I think we've done this before. I'll say Daryl Hall and/or John Oates or Bono.

Lee :)

SandyMac 10-19-2005 03:43 PM

Pat Benatar or Shania Twain or Rob Thomas
I also agree that Gwen Stefani would be an interesting match.

that would be awesome. Dolly is a great singer and sounds good with anyone. Did anyone catch her singing with Melissa Ethridge - think about how different they are and it was magical.

I saw a rerun of Dolly on The Daily Show recently and she was a hoot. She said she was worried Stewart would bring up politics and then said she's as clueless as George Bush.

She made a joke about recording a Bob Dylan tribute album titled "Dolly Does Dylan" and Stewart pretty must lost it.

Haunted Song 10-19-2005 04:02 PM

Sting or Jackson Browne

Well I’ve been out walking
I don’t do that much talking these days
These days--
These days I seem to think a lot
About the things that I forgot to do
For you
And all the times I had the chance to

And I had a lover
It’s so hard to risk another these days
These days--
Now if I seem to be afraid
To live the life I have made in song
Well it’s just that I’ve been losing so long

I’ll keep on moving
Things are bound to be improving these days
These days--
These days I sit on corner stones
And count the time in quarter tones to ten, my friend
Don’t confront me with my failures
I had not forgotten them

Or perhaps a duet with Nico...

MacMan 10-19-2005 04:16 PM

I would have loved to have heard Sting sing with Stevie on Bombay Sapphire like she wanted to initially. That would have been interesting.

shackin'up 10-19-2005 04:18 PM

Mark Lanegan......or Eddie Vedder.

the red hot chilli peppers. I kid you not...can you imagine stevie's voice on "under the bridge"????????? it would be awe-inspiring

estranged4life 10-19-2005 07:23 PM

Noone y'all like...

thats fer sure...No Dolly, No Sting, No etc.

If Candice Night can sing a duet with Andi Deris of Helloween then I think Stevie would be an even better choice since both Stevie & Andi have the same type of vocal quality.

In all honesty, Stevie only sounds good vocally with 2 people-Lindsey & Tom Petty.

Those wonder-ful harmonies. . . .

"Who would I like Stevie to sing with" -

Hmmm - ME!
No?
Oh, okay -
How about Kelly Clarkson? At The Big Horse Race Thing?
I LIKE the Michelle Branch thing, though, that would be COOL!
And Pat Benatar -

"You desperately search for a way to conquer the fear
No line of attack has been planned to fight back the tears
Where brave and restless dreams are both won and lost
On the edge is where it seems it's well worth the cost
Just when you think you got it down
Your heart in pieces on the ground
They whisper, Promises In The -- . . . . 1,2,3,FOUR -
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRKKK!"

oooooh, wow could that be good. . . . :blob2:

InDreams 10-19-2005 09:36 PM

What circle dance appreciation thing from Bonnie Raitt? I just saw her in St. Louis!

My thought exactly. I went through Pat's songs today and this is the one that stuck out in my mind as a serious contender for Stevie to cover or duet with. Another solid rock song.

catinthedark 10-19-2005 10:17 PM

Jackson Browne is a great idea! He did a duet with Jann Arden years ago that is staggeringly beautiful.

I would also love her to sing with the lead singer of Theory of a Deadman. Don't even know his name - but I love his voice, and I bet Stevie would wrap her voice around his like buttah.

Actually . . .I agree.

I just heard his version of Rhiannon the other day. Made my boyfriend (he also likes Willie) listen to it.

Then, we were driving, and I had Space Needle playing. Jeff pipes up "Willie wouldn't sound bad doing this song, either".

:D

As much as I don't particularly like Stevie, I disagree with your statement. Of the many people she's collaborated with, she sounds best with Lindsey and Tom but sounds good with several others. She sounded good with Walter Egan, John Stewart, Don Henley (and I don't like him either), Warren Zevon, Billy Burnette, and Rick Vito. Her work with people like Kenny Loggins, Macy Gray, Sheryl Crow, and what's her face from the Dixie Bitches... errr, Chicks, I most definitely could have gone my whole life without ever hearing and been better off for it.

Macfanforever 10-19-2005 10:44 PM

A duet with Vince Gill I would love hear that, but these other guys would be interesting to hear Stevie voice with. The likes of Kenny Rogers,Toby Keith,Tim Mcgraw sorry Faith. Willie Nelson,Alan Jackson,Garth Brooks, Brooks and Dunn,Rod Stewart. On the ladies side Dolly Parton,Shania Twain,Gretchen Wilson,Wyonna,Linda Ronstadt,Heart,Bonnie Raitt,Faith Hill,Chrissie Hynde,
Pat Benatar,Mary Chapin Carpenter, I can go on forever.Maybe Stevie will do a CMT Crossroads with one of them.

stormy 10-20-2005 01:05 AM

I would say Jon Bon Jovi or Bono.

I think a Stevie/Keith Urban duet would be interesting. Wasn't she the one he was writing about in "You'll Think Of Me"? ;)

In all honesty though, as fine as Stevie is singing lately, she shouldn't share the mic with anyone!
