Who'll Stop the Rain?

Coming up on nine days of this now....

It's been raining
All the years
If it won't stop, I'll be in tears
It never stops
It never will
Soaking wet, is how I feel!

Days when the sun is gone
Grey as day!
Rain's came down for too long
Soaking wet
Slip and I fall and I drown

I been alone
Almost drowned
I'm gonna kick mother nature's ass to the ground!
It never stops
It never will
Soaking wet, is how I feel!

Days when the sun is gone
Grey as day!
Rain's came down for too long
Soaking wet
Shlip and I fall and I drown!

I usually like rainy days, but this is too f*cking much. I can't take much more of it.

Dreammms 10-14-2005 08:47 PM

I can't take it anymore.

My parents basement flooded. That was a total disaster. But now it's cleaned up. Got the pump going.

I need sunshine.

amber 10-14-2005 08:47 PM

You guys are getting that much rain? Wow, it's so early. It's been all sunny and nice here.
and yes, I love rain, but too much sucks.
Nice parody.

My mother's basement flooded, too. And my storage garage. It hasn't been fun. I could care less if we have cloudy days for a month, I just want the rain to STOP.

Great Fogerty song. It's actually about the Vietnam war.

Long as I remember the rain been comin’ down.
Clouds of myst’ry pourin’ confusion on the ground.
Good men through the ages, tryin’ to find the sun;
And I wonder, still I wonder, who’ll stop the rain.

I went down virginia, seekin’ shelter from the storm.
Caught up in the fable, I watched the tower grow.
Five year plans and new deals, wrapped in golden chains.
And I wonder, still I wonder who’ll stop the rain.

Heard the singers playin’, how we cheered for more.
The crowd had rushed together, tryin’ to keep warm.
Still the rain kept pourin’, fallin’ on my ears.
And I wonder, still I wonder who’ll stop the rain.

When it rains, it pours and there is no one at the door. Yes you did send me flowers...

oops...sorry I digress. It has been so freakin' HOT here in LA.

That is definitely one of my very, very, very favorite songs, ever. Oh, and thanks for clearing up a bit of my lyrical confusion!

My stupid roof is leaking. Drip.drip.drip. I guess I am lucky though because others have really suffered with this excessive precip.

Ugh. Did you tell your landlord or the apartment manager? I raised holy hell when my landlord wouldn't fix the leaky pipes in my bathroom last week.

She's coming on Sun. She keeps hiring these idiots who can't do the job right. It makes me crazy. This time I will be here when they come and will make sure I talk to them about my concerns. She supposedly has hired a roofer this time. It is rediculous really.

WelshWitchPMD 10-15-2005 12:23 AM

It's pouring rain right now in RI.:distress: It has been for days. I am sick if it! Kind of ruins foliage photography plans, too. At least we have not had much flooding here. I know that parts of NH had it really bad.

amber 10-15-2005 01:57 AM

you know what's weird? It just started raining here. It hasn't rained in like, 5 months or something. it's been beautiful and sunny and nice for weeks.
I am forced to conclude that this thread jinxed us.

SuzeQuze 10-15-2005 12:39 PM

My brother is in NH at my Mom's place and he said the brook behind it is a rushing river right now which partially flooded the road. He said the place was surrounded by water at one point but it has since receded. I'm glad my Mom isn't up there because she would be freaking out! I guess the lake is so high the docks are under water!
