Ugh, do we have to give the fraud the gratification of manipulating people on the "real" Ledge? It seems the sole reason for this thread was to demonstrate how wrong she is to suggest Brian is not high-flying, adored. Duh. As he himself states, he needs no reassurance that he is highly regarded. But he has enabled someone who doesn't even post here to gain influence. Come on, think about it. I encourage you to resist the temptation to encourage such lame and frankly disturbing behavior!

You may think you are hurting conservatives but it says something to me that you choose this route instead of logical argument and debate. Why is this? My guess is that you have a deep-seated psychological desire for control and derive pleasure from cruelty. It makes you feel better about yourself that you can manipulate and hurt others. Oh-so-superior to the "fools" that respond to you.

But you are kidding yourself. It is delusional to justify your cruelty as beneficial to your party. You give yourself a pass to hurt people in order for the "greater good." The saddest part is that there are millions of people who do truly believe, and would agree with, the things that ol' "Rosie" says.

I feel exactly as you do, Nancy, perhaps for some slightly different reasons, but over all the same. I didn't take it as lightly as others did, either, and I didn't think it was funny, and I didn't think it was fun, and I thought it was sick, as you said. :wavey:

I'm glad I missed it then. I was away on vacation and then when I logged onto the Ledge when I came back on Wed I was bummed it was down. I had no idea about Ledge 2.

With there being a quarter of a billion people in the US, I'd say "millions" is a reasonable estimate.

If only "some" people shared the opinions expressed by rose.gypsy regarding homosexuality and morality, for example, then gays and lesbians wouldn't have to fight so hard for basic civil rights, and we wouldn't have to constantly hear politicians and religious leaders unapologetically calling us "sinners," "abominations," and other lovely things like that.

If there aren't millions of people who agree with the above judgements, then I want to know why there aren't more people refusing to vote for the politicians (and presidential candidates) who do.

Well, tens of millions voted not to extend rights to gay people who want to marry. Clearly it is fair to say that at least 5-10% of them did it because they think all gay people are sinners and are going to Hell, which is basic believe of every major organized form of Judeao Christianty :shrug: Personally, I think it is more like 50 percent of those voters.

Totally - I mean almost everyone realizes W lied to get us into a war and yet he opposes gays so they reelect him - I mean that is pretty powerful.

I went out to eat last night and when I came out, I was approached by a black woman who asked if I wanted to sign a petition "to keep marriage between a man and a woman." You do not want to know what I said to her.

At first, I thought it was Althea Garrison, Massachusetts' very own resident nutbag who, amazingly, was elected to office in the early nineties. Just Google her, I'm sure something wacky will come up. :laugh:
