Stevie on UK's Top Of The Pops in 1989

In addition to the pics I just posted in interview thread, here's some pics of Stevie doing a rare UK TV performance on Top Of The Pops in 1989. She's singing Rooms On Fire, just so you know :)

Wow - that is quite an outfit!

In my old neighborhood in San Francisco, she would be wearing that on her way to the Babtist church on Sunday morning. And she could bring her tambourine.

I do like her in red, though.

WOW! Somehow I'm scared of that pics, but actually she looks really cute in that pics! It could've been much worse! Imagine her on that performance with dark hair and a dark dress, ewwww....I don't want to think about it!

Sadly, this reminds me of a story me mum once told, of a girl she saw try to light her cig on the golden gate bridge. Her hair caught all "on fiyah" and burned away. I guess her face was okay, but still. Horrifying.

I worked in a SOMA restaurant club in the late 80's when hair was high high high, and we had a dry bar/bankette along the wall with a mirror behind it. the wall was lined with candles. People sat along the dry bar turned towards each other and sipping their drinks.
Every night, at least several times a night, we would see a quick blast of flame in the mirror, as part of someone's heavily-sprayed-do would quickly ignite, and then burn off. Like St. Elmo's fires, w/out Demi and Rob.

Noone was ever injured, though, in fact most of the flame-heads didn't even know it had happened, until they smelled the hair burn.

That *is* a really cool church! But I didn't live down there, My last house was in a neighborhood on the edge of the Panhandle, and there were a bunch of active churches there, with ladies in the wildest outfits and the biggest and best hats ever! I always felt so grubby walking past them.
