I still can't bellieve it. I nearly spit out my beverage when I saw them announce this on the show last week. Does this mean she has new material out - which song were you talking about Curtis? Heaven help us all...

And who is John Heder (tonight's host)? Is that the Napoleon Dynamite guy? That might be worth checking out, at least until Asslee comes on.

And she's blonde again... Maybe she thinks we won't make the connection. :rolleyes:

I'm actually disappointed with SNL that they would put this no talent on. There are so many up and coming artists that actually have talent that should take the place of this twit.

Well at least you know she'll be singing live. I can't imagine she could get away with the ol' acid reflux excuse again. And as much as I can't stand her, that's a pretty ballsy move.

Yeah. Her album drops on the 18th. Her new single is "Boyfriend." It's catchy... :cool:

And it will likely put the ratings through the roof. SNL knows a good thing when it sees it. The curiosity factor alone will bring in hundreds of thousands of viewers who abandoned the lame ass "comedy" of SNL years ago... This has nothing to do with Ashlee's talent or popularity. It's all about numbers.

Yup. I can't knock someone who writes her own songs. I think she has great lyrics and the hooks draw you in. She just needs to work harder on sustaining her voice during live shows.

Wow, with Napolean Dynamite hosting and the hoe down hoe trying to sing again, should be a good show. Huge ratings alone for Ashlee Simpson. I'll watch.

I like Ashlee. I don't think she has much talent, but I do enjoy making fun of her.

It's been many, many years since SNL could legimiately claim to be an important showcase for new music. They've been booking mostly crap acts for nearly two decades now.

Regardless, "Pieces Of Me" is a pretty perfect catchy pop song, if you ask me.

Of course you can, if the songs are crap.

Except for last week. Last week was quite funny. Other than that, yeah, it sucks hard.

I meant to ask if you caught it. I was laughing out loud for the first time in a few seasons. The CNN Anderson Cooper bit had me about to pee myself (Sharon Stone building a house in an evening gown and Geraldo showing up then running when shots were fired did me in.) Mike Myers & Kanye West - priceless. Debbie Downer & her new found love? Perfect!

Someone please help me, I love Kanye's "Gold Digger" :o

I put on SNL just to see that and realized how lame the show is. Mad TV 100x better.

I thought the show was funnier than last week. WHY did they waste Steve Carrell! ARG!! :mad: John Heder was pretty good. Didn't care to watch Ashlee, I turned the TV down. That last Black-Eyed Peas skit was funny.

The Black Eyed Peas thing was great! "Don't funk with my Pfizer!" :lol:

What was the second song she did?

Yes, I loved it! The guy that did Al Pacino was hilarious; "This is New Orleans, where we're building a new New Orleans, so we'll put the doors wherever we want, Anderson."

And Sharon Stone: "I've had no construction experience whatsoever, but I've partied with a few construction workers."

Geraldo: "I've saved black babies, white babies, and even this morning I saved an Asian baby. Geraldo is colorblind when it comes to saving babies."

Seth Meyers killed me as Anderson, the way he kept sucking in his cheeks to show off his cheekbones. And the fake 360 music is what really put it over the top. I downloaded an MPEG of it to burn to CD someday; it's priceless.
