Photos of my alter-ego

so I was finally able to get some decent copies of my publicity pics and I thought I'd share and see what you're thoughts are - I don't quite look like this anymore as I need to lose a few lbs... but it'll work out.

if you don't like drag or are offended by it, don't view the pic

I believe it came from the use of the word "drag" to describe the face/makeup. Lots of older women say, "I need to check my drag" - Patti Labelle still says it to this day.

It does. Normally it takes about 4-5 hours on a good day from start to finish. To me, it is a beautiful art when it is done right - of course there are lots of skanks that kind of ruin it.

It was coined in Europe during the late 1800's to define clothing that's associated with a gender role and has some sort of symbolic meaning.

Great pics, too! Do you perform, Jason?

Thanks Diss. I used to perform every Saturday/Sunday night at various clubs and also did private bookings; birthday parties, etc. I've kind of gotten out of the circuit just because life is just too hectic, but I still do benefit shows here and there. I am in the process of getting together a Diva Challenge idea for a Katrina benefit.

Sounds great! I used to do a lot of jam band stuff at local bars with friends (not in drag, mind you  ), but haven't done any of it since the spring; I'm itching to start doing it again. What were your favorite songs and artists to perform?

Best of luck with the benefit, too. :D

you know the odd thing was, and I kind of became known for doing this, I performed lots of songs by black artists. janet jackson, destiny's child, patti labelle, lil kim...I loved doing any Christina songs...I did a couple of Stevie songs.

My favs are:
Indendent Women, Destiny's Child
If, Janet Jackson
How Many Licks, Lil Kim
Diamonds are Forever, Shirley Bassey
Dirrty, Christina Aguilera
Making Love Out of Nothing At All, Bonnie Tyler (my signature song)
All the Man That I Need, Whitney Houston

I'm also kind of known for awesome medleys, if I do say so myself :)

One of my favorites.
No other singer can wring out every last drop of the Sturm und Drang in Jim Steinman's lyrics the way Bonnie can.

thanks stewy

yeah, the Bonster is a great, talented singer and this song is like her best, to me - the great huge buildup - it all works on stage - I wear a huge wedding gown with a crystal-incrested bodice and so it's all drama

Have you ever heard her cover of Freda Payne's "Band Of Gold"? If not, I bet you'd really love it. Steinman produced it, so it has all of that over-the-top melodrama he does best.

Hey, go for it...

whatever floats yer boat is what I say....I'm as open minded a person as anyone else, so go for it and thanks for sharing yer pictures (Btw, my alter-ego has a "goat's skull with three 6's between the horns")

And also as someone famous once said:

"...They dont want want you to see some little loud mouthed f**ker like me, who crawled out of some s**thole somewhere, and worked his way up on to this stage...They dont want, there's something out there that doesnt want people like you to realize that you can do whatever the f**k you want with you're goddamn life.

And unless....There are those that unless they have a piece of the pie...unless they got a piece of yer ass, unless they got a piece of your life they just dont want it to happen...you either do it their way or you dont do it...They can suck my ----!

I believe deep inside everybody, there's something inside you that knows what the f**k it is that your supposed to do with your life...And no matter what anybody tells you if you keep looking and you keep digging you're gonna find it...And you can be the person you're f**king meant to be on this goddamn planet...And dont let anybody, anybody..ever...get in your way...Including me.

I know it's not like the most humane thing, but you can uh, when it gets real rough, you think of a little theme song that somebody else wrote, mainly mister Paul McCartney...And when they're trying to keep you down, Just hold on and know that someday you'll bust out and you'll get onto your own s**t and they wont be able to f**king keep up with your ass, and you can be thinking just "Live And Let Die" mutherf**ker"-W.A.R. When you click the link I posted, scroll down to the bottom of the page that comes up. There are two columns... Free and Premium.
Click the "Free" button.

Then scroll down to the bottom of the next page that loads.
You'll see the title of the file, and a notice that says:
"Download-Ticket reserved. Please wait __ seconds."

It will count down, and when it's finished it'll say:
"Download: Bonnie_Tyler_-_Band_Of_Gold.mp3"

Just right-click that, and save the file as you would any other. :)
