if you could only have ONE stevie song

seriously! ONE SONG!!! Like one Stevie song on a desert island.

I'm torn between Edge of Seventeen and Stand Back, but I think I have to go with Edge of Seventeen. She has so many great songs though...

Spill it! What's your ONE song?

ontheEdgeof17 09-15-2005 03:14 PM

My favorite song of hers for all times:

That's Alright

dissention 09-15-2005 03:16 PM

Since I wouldn't be able to choose, write "Storms," "Sable On Blonde," and "Trouble In Shangri-La" on three pieces of paper, put them in a hat, mix them up, and make me draw one.

amber 09-15-2005 03:16 PM

This has been a thread before, but I believe I picked Edge. Or did I pick Insider, Live? hmmm.

Dreammms 09-15-2005 03:17 PM

sara or nightbird i guess
very hard to choice between all her songs
hmm or maybe sable on blonde

Thrown Down came out of the hat. I hope that's okay for eternity.

I can only hope that the coconuts on that island fall on my head so hard that I'm rendered deaf.

Rooms on Fire

Well Stand Back is my favorite Stevie song but if I was stuck on a desert island I'd have to pick my second favorite, Rooms on Fire, because it has a personal story for me connected to it whereas SB is my favorite song but I don't relate it to any particluar person/incident in my life.

WizNicks 09-15-2005 03:51 PM

If You Ever Did Believe, defenitly!

SB actually reminds me of a general theme of my entire life....

Neal 09-15-2005 04:01 PM

Definitely 'Rooms On Fire'. I've loved this song longer than I've known who Stevie was.

"Well I have known this much longer than I've known you..."

mikeschmike 09-15-2005 04:06 PM

This is tough. I like different Stevie songs at different times of the day, you know? For instance, I always like the more rocking tunes in the morning to get me going (Edge live, old school Rhiannon live, Long way to go, stand back, etc) and i like the slower songs at night. GDW, Storms, Sara, Thrown down, LOVE IS(am i like the only one who really likes this song?), to name a few.

53yearoldpixie 09-15-2005 04:07 PM

This is really hard. I would have to go with the putting paper in the hat idea, with Sara (the cleaning lady version) Stand Back (live), or... Wild Heart.

"SB actually reminds me of a general theme of my entire life...."

Amen, Amber.

Mikeshmike: I ADORE Love Is. LOVE it!!!

I'd be happy with any ONE of the following:

Sisters Of The Moon
Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind
any song off of TISL
SYW version of "Smile At You"
Illume
WOS version of "Thrown Down"

And you're like me, too, because I like Trouble in Sangria-La & Storms.

But I think I'll still take Crystal or Silver Springs.

Romy & David ... two peas in a pod

I'd take them in the 90's versions.

Gold Dust Woman

and not a doubt in my mind about that! :)

Stephanie 09-15-2005 05:44 PM

Hard choice. Stand Back, I guess. Or Gold and Braid.

GypsyNomad 09-15-2005 05:48 PM

I would need to have Rhiannon with me always.... its the first song of her's that i ever listened to, i'd run home everyday after school when i was little just hoping it would be on the radio.... What version? Probably a live version... Live or Rosebud will do.

If not Rhiannon, then Sisters of the Moon or Gold & Braid :)

WildInTheWind 09-15-2005 05:58 PM

Frozen Love. Not only is it a great song, but it's really long.

I adore TISL and though of voting for that one but I think hearing "I run through the grass, I run over the stones, down to the sea, show me the way back" over and over again might be a little trying on the nerves.

That is an excellent choice - for excellent reasons. That would be a close second.

But my all-timer remains... Mistaken Love. The piano duet.

I love that song and think that is a great choice. I wasn't sure if we could use it though because it's more of a duet type thing with Lindsey.

sarafield 09-15-2005 07:15 PM

Storms is my pick.

Karlie 09-15-2005 07:36 PM

Stand Back live.
