More Stevie Photos ~ Columbus 8-24-96
She was radiant that evening...these photos really don't do her justice, but at least you can get the idea. Me and my camera were at it again!

Excellent!!! Thank you!
I really, really, really like her hair like that, too. (although the bangs could be a smidge shorter). |

Ha! But, what was she touring for at this time? Was this a single show or was she doing a "named" tour here?

it was a single show... one of three she did in 1996.. her first was in April i believe.. she looked very "tired" and "older" in that show.. then suddenly 4 months later, she re-appeared more youthful and radiant for this show ;) |
Alicia you rule!!!! Thanks again for the great pics.
|
Great photos Alicia!! I love looking at your pics.

Ahhh... Okay, so that summer she did that Pier thing on July 4th in Florida.. and also a Boston gig for a radio station... and this one. Was this for a radio station as well... Thanks for putting up the pics - they are great to see :)

Thanks so much for posting those pics!!! I was at this show too! I couldn't remember what radio station it was for, but I remembered it was for a charity I think. There were a whole bunch of performers too. Color me bad! Voice of the Beehive! It was funny too because I had gotten sunscreen in my eyes and they were swollen shut for the entire day. I couldn't see a thing. I went to the mens room a thousand times and tried to wash them out, but nothing was working. Around 8pm when they were teasing us about Stevie coming on next I wanted to cry because I couldn't see, and I started to pray "God, I did not drive 8 hours to not see anything". Believe it or not, as soon as Stevie came on, my eyes stopped stinging and I could open them. It was the first time I heard Twisted live also, and I loved it. I also couldn't believe how good Stevie looked. Also, it was the first time I noticed her voice had gotten better, and it was the first show I had seen where she had used the ear piece. The last time I saw her prior to this show was in '94. There were rumors at the time of a Fleetwood Mac reunion and it seemed like this was why Stevie was doing all of these one time only shows, to sort of get some practice in again. Then of course, the dance happened. Thanks again for sharing the terriffic pictures and for reminding me of what a great show it was! |
Stevie in Columbus
Oh, this was a terrific show. It was the first time I had ever gotten front row, my friend Pete Haas gave it to me, he had gotten it off of someone who left because Cher cancelled :) so that was awesome. I had worn all white chiffon, layers and layers, white platform boots, and white velvet legwarmers, and it was SO hot! I met a lot of very nice people, who came up to me because of how I was dressed, and one woman asked for a hug, and started to cry, I felt really bad for her, because I didn't want to hurt her feelings and tell her I wasn't Stevie (why would Stevie be walking around the arena? LOL!) but I didn't want to let her think I "was" so I was like "oh...no..." and she started crying, and asked for the hug, and told me how much "my" music had meant in her life, and then walked away, smiling and so happy, my friend was like "I can't believe you didn't tell her you were not Stevie" I said, well, she is happy in whatever she believes, I didn't want to make her unhappy? Obviously she had not seen a lot of photos of Stevie, or seen her "up close", as she was so close to me and did not know I was not her.
It was a fun concert, KC was really good, and Tina Arena had a super awesome voice, and it was fun to play Stevie dress up, even tho it was so darn hot, LOL. *Barbara* |
