Lovely Stevie Pic

Found it on Perez Hilton's message board and thought it to be just absolutely hilarious (I've never seen it before).

Who IS that woman? I have never seen that pic. I'm at a loss for words....

She looks like the music school teacher she says she'd be if she weren't a rock star.

My mom and her sisters used to do their hair like that. I truly don't understand how they did it. How did they make it that...helmet-like...unmoveable? I don't get it.

My mother showed me once. Tease, tease, tease your hair until it's a total rat's nest everywhere, then smooth only the top of the hair over to create the shape. Spray and spray. You can sleep on it, but when you wake up, it will have all fallen over to one side. Then you have to push the whole hive back up into place and spray some more. You could go on with the same 'do for a week before you had to wash it again.

Yeah, I think that's the only place I've ever seen it. It's a really good "Can you believe that's what so-and-so used to look like" pic.

GypsyNomad 09-09-2005 07:44 PM

Holy Shnikes! That's gotta be the worst "do" she's ever sported (still looks pretty though) I know it was the 60s, but damn what was she thinking!? I'm sitting here waiting for a squirrel to crawl out of it or something!

I found these at buckinghamnicks too.

Bouffant with bangs!

They are all cute. I mean c'mon! We prolly look back on our junior high pics and cringe. Even if you youngsters that were in school in the 80's wonder "WTF" w/ your hair & clothing style...think what us really old farts ( ) think of our 70's gear. THEN you have those who grew up in the 50's & 60's. For her day, she was stylin'!

i'd take that beehive anyday of the week over my own aunt's hair do.... it is a sight, she goops gel all in it, then kinda spikes it out with her fingers, then whips out the Aqua Net... yikes! Looks like she was struck by lightening! Its sooo hard & crunchy, when hug her, i keep my eyes shut cause she once poked me with one of those pieces! I wish i had a picture, but i think it would frighten people.

I sent this to my mom and this is what she wrote:

WOW--reminds me especially of the way your Aunt Shirley did her hair. She wore the beehive doo a lot. Those were the days. I learned how to do mine from the hairdressers I went to. The hairdo would last for a week or longer. I loved to tease it and have it sticking out all over--so when Sam (my aunt's then boyfriend...now husband) would come over to see Shirley--I would answer the door. Loved the shocked look on his face~!!!

My mom's a little weird

that sounds about right.
BTW, your sig quote is my new favorite saying ever. The one by Oscar Wilde. How brill is that?
It really encapsulates a prominent aspect of how I feel into one great, simple sentence.
It's one of the best phrases i've ever read or heard. It really speaks to me.

I may own that wig

LongBlackScarf 09-10-2005 10:21 AM

I bet in the 70's during stressful band times, she'd break out a joint and a plastic padded floral covered photo album with these Hair Don'ts in it, and show it to John. The two of them would lie on the floor busting a gut laughing. When the other bandmembers would come into the room, they'd hide the album real quick and just go "This is REALLY good pot!! :p "
