Solo Tour Survivor - Round 1

I been wanting to do this one for a long time, but wasn't sure if it had been done yet or not.. I know one for FM was done not too long ago, but i don't think a Stevie Solo Tour Survivor was (at least not for a long while).

I compiled a list of all of Stevie's solo tours from 1981-2005 and here they are: :)

White Winged Dove Tour (1981)
Wild Heart Tour (1983)
Rock A Little Tour (1986)
The Other Side Of The Mirror Tour (1989)
Whole Lotta Trouble Tour (1991)
Street Angel Tour (1994)
Enchanted Tour (1998)
Millenium Shows Tour (1999/2000)
Trouble In Shangri-La Tour (2001)
Dreams/Gold Dust Tour (2005)
Two Voices Tour (2005)

when voting, please consider ALL aspects of each tour:

the setlists
her vocals
her overall performance
her appearance
her costumes
her hair
the band
the venues she played at
the stage setup

basically, consider EVERYTHING..

The cutoff time for Round 1 will be on Friday at 9PM..

let the voting begin now... :woohoo:

Yay!!! Another Survivor!!! :blob1: :blob1: :blob1:

Oh yeah. Adios, Two Voices Tour :wavey:
Why? 1.) It was short. 2.) Don Henley. 3.) Missed it.

O boy did she sound bad!

Trouble In Shangri-La Tour (2001)

the setlists: Total Laziness. Not one surprise.
her vocals: Lackluster. She was too sick.
her overall performance: Boring.
her appearance: Same ****.
her costumes: What costumes? The top hat was the highlight....
her hair: Bland
the band: Nothing New.
the venues she played at: Nothing New.
the stage setup: One of the best. Loved the arch. :xoxo:

Round 1 - Millenium Shows

Too short and nothing really special about them IMO.

except for the fact that she performed "Rooms On Fire" (in which she hasn't done since) and it was Stevie's ONLY club tour in her career..

well, she looked pretty.. but that was about it

the band? the worst she's ever had
the setlist? no "long way to go" and performed "two kinds of love" - 2 big no-no's
her performance? klonopin-induced lethargicness

I know. But it got your attention. :xoxo:

And as for that other stuff; the band and her performance may have sucked, but I can overlook that since so many of the song arrangements were awesome e.g. OTR/Dreams, GDW, NSW...

Boring.............

David 09-08-2005 06:09 PM

Round 1 - Whole Lotta Trouble

She had degenerated into something trashy that year. Plus that band she put together had no clue how to approach her material. They got up there & treated many fine songs as if they were Heart power anthems.

the whole thing was just . . . what a bummer. I took a couple of friends of mine to the Concord Pavilion show -- their first Stevie Nicks concert -- & I was really embarrassed. They have never been back to see a Stevie Nicks show since.

Pretty stage setup, though, with the big chandelier in the middle.

i couldn't disagree more... i liked the fact that her band that year turned her songs into a more rock-oriented style... she is afterall, the Queen Of Rock...

also, that setlist was precious... all hits.. she changed her outfits several times during the shows and rocked much harder than on TOSOTM tour..

SapphireSister 09-08-2005 06:18 PM

Whole Lotta Trouble

Klonopin at it's worst. People say she was bad in 89 but this is 2 years after that. She just had no spark and there was nothing special or exciting about it from the boots I've heard plus no new songs. Also her voice sounded sooo incredibly deep to me around that time. Like a guy.

WildInTheWind 09-08-2005 06:19 PM

TOSOTM. Blech.

this is the best of tour right?

If so this tour SUCKED. Watching the pro shot dvd from this tour is an embarrassment. SOOO bad.

Round 1- TISL

She was sick so its understandable how she wasnt really good at all on this tour.

dissention 09-08-2005 08:11 PM

Trouble In Shangri-La

the setlists: Ugh. She dropped the keys on the songs to the point where they were unrecognizable.
her vocals: Double ugh.
her overall performance: Lazy, tired, and robotic.
her appearance: Umm...healthy, yet needing a tan on that pasty pale tail?
her costumes: More of her mob widow garb.
her hair: So fried that it could put a tostada to shame.
the band: Boring and lifeless. No punch whatsoever.
the venues she played at: Ampitheatres. Fug.
the stage setup: Those columns were so f*cking cheesy, man.

I think the reason I can't vote for TISL is because that was the first Stevie concert that I had CLOSE seats. Fifth row. Boston Tweeter Center. I was in total awe. I saw her twice on Street Angel...Twice on Enchanted...and once for the Dance. But those seats weren't as close as the TISL show.

Edit...I also saw her two more times on the TISL show besides the Boston show and I will admit it wasn't as exciting.

I guess the one I didn't like much was Jones Beach. I found that one very boring.

She sounded worse there than in Mansfield. That Stand Back from that show was so bad. Actually scratch that, I think rhiannon might have been worse. Either way both were terrible and probably the worst of the tour.
