I FOUND SOMEONE - this song friggin rocks my world! *sings* "And I remember the thunder talkin' bout that fire in your eyes" Dang I love this song. I need to dl it right now.

We all sleep alone - sooner or later we all do and aint that the bloody truth!

Turn Back Time - I do the best imitation of her singing this song. They die at work every time I do it.

Does she write any of her own songs? All the songs on her albums from the 80's seem to be written by other people.

Johnny does Cher write any of her own stuff?

She's written/co-written some of her own songs here and there, but the bulk of her material is written by other songwriters.

Because Stevie writes so much of her own music and is such a prolific sonngwriter and being that I'm a huge fan of hers I respect people as artists so much more when they write their own stuff. Oh well for Cher, she's got other things going I guess.

She's a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better actress than Stevie. :p

Ha ha you are soooooo damn right about that one sister! The Witches of Eastwick, Moonstruck, and Mask are 3 of my all time favorite movies. Damn that woman can act. Good point there.

I never hold it against a singer when they don't write their own music.
The "great ones" like Frank Sinatra rarely ever wrote any of their own material.

And some of my favorite female singers, like Tina Turner and Bonnie Tyler, have only written a few of their own songs over the years.

Some folks are "just" singers, while others are singer/songwriters.

You are soooo right about that. That's why I love these discussions because I can get other people's insight. Does Babs write her own stuff? I'd venture to say not.

I really wish Bon Jovi had given Stevie We All Sleep Alone instead of that castles of candy bull sh*t although I really love Cher's version. Could anyone see Stevie singing We All Sleep Alone? lol.

Not.Commercial is wonderful. She went to a songwriting workshop in Paris and wrote all of these songs. She went into the studio and cut the tracks but only gave them out as Christmas presents to family and friends until some people persuaded her to release them as a CD on her website.
Totally different than anything she has ever done, the collection is a very telling look into this amazing woman's life.
I'm going to have to put this on when I get home tonight!

I am the only gay man on earth who does not like Cher. Her voice bugs me. I consider her pretty much a joke as far as music goes. Movies/acting is another thing. I think she has great presence, a good sense of humor, and is all around just fun...but she cannot sing.

No offense meant to anyone...just my opinion. I have had enough of Cher and if I ever have to listen to Believe again, it would be way too soon.
