Friar's Club Roast Of Pamela Anderson

This sucker was about the most hysterical thing I've seen in AGES.
It was bawdy and vicious and I loved every minute of it.

Dissy... Bea Arthur was there, and if you watch it for no other reason, watch it for her! My jaw was dropped the whole time.

CrystalVisions 08-14-2005 11:04 PM

My husband and I just finished watching this...we laughed hysterically through the whole thing! I couldn't believe Bea Arthur was even there ~ I just couldn't picture her at something like that! Our favourite was the girl comedian...her name was Lisa Lampanelli ~ both of us laughed through her entire set, especially when she talked about the squirrel in the Crown Royal bag! And Courtney Love was...amusing...

I'm sure they'll re-run it a MILLION times, so I'll try to catch it.

I loved that joke. But I laughed so hard at pretty much everything (though a couple did fall flat here and there throughout the show).

I can't even remember my favorites though, because the jokes were flying one right after the other.

I hope they run it soon on their Saturday Night Secret Stash. I'd love to see it uncensored.

Janet 08-15-2005 12:49 AM

Oh was it good? I was wondering why they were even roasting her but if anyone has a good sense of humour about herself, it's Pam Anderson. I actually don't mind her at all.

I really hope I catch this at some point...Bea Arthur?!

Wild_Heart03 08-15-2005 12:56 AM

It's re-running for me right now, I'm about ready to wake up the others in my house from laughing so much.

ontheEdgeof17 08-15-2005 06:51 AM

We watched it at work last night while charting on our patients. It was a riot. :D

Nixxxed 08-15-2005 01:51 PM

I wasn't going to watch, but happened to surf into it, just as Jeffrey Ross was saying how weird it was that Curt Cobain at present looked *better* than Courtney Love. And I was hooked. I watched the rest of it, then watched the replay, then watched the re-re-play up until Jeffrey Came on again. Just couldn't get enough.

Courtney Love failed her drug test a day after the roast.

Courtney got ripped and ripped on the entire show. She was a good sport about everything except the Curt comment. And during the opening credits, she was listed as "Courtney Love-Cobain". Since when?

Did they record this on July 4th? Sara Silverman said "Happy Birthday America" at the mike...

I really thought she'd get her act together, but I guess not. When she failed the test, the judge said he was going to decide on whether or not to send her up the river for a year. Can't wait to hear his decision.

I don't know when they recorded it, but I have the major hots for Sarah Silverman. She is genius.

Even funnier, since she claimed several times during the show that she'd been clean for a year.

Unless, of course, she fell off the wagon that night!

She's gotten progressively less funny as the years have gone by. I used to like her quite a bit.

In fact, she was the weak spot of last night's show, IMO.
Though she wasn't totally unfunny.

maybe cause people were making fun of her? Cancers don't like that.... If it was after the show, though, that would be really sad. Well, maybe not, it doesn't mean it was in any way related to the show, I guess.
Anyway, quit taking drugs, C! :)

Really? I went and saw her show Jesus Is Magic and my whole body hurt afterwards from laughing and convulsing so much. I think she's gotten much funnier since when she was on SNL. Totally one of the best out there, imo.

Is she really boning Jimmy Kimmel? If so, I'm sure that's the reason she's lost her edge. HATE him. Talk about consuming all the beauty in a room...

She was hysterical on Celebrity Poker Showdown, though, especially when she climbed on and then dry-humped the table.

Livia 08-15-2005 04:12 PM

I used to like Sara Silverman, but didn't she kinda diss Stevie on that VH1 show? I can't remember the name of it, but 4 celebs would sit around and rate the top 10 this or that, and eliminate songs and/or bands from a list until they had a winner. Damn, what was the name of that show?

Anyway, I take it that the roast is on Comedy Central? I'll have to watch for it...

I think it was called "The List." Didn't Andy Dick host or some such nonsense? :wavey:

skcin 08-16-2005 09:55 AM

Saw the roast last night. Funniest sh*t I've seen in a long time. Pam was a great sport. I really could have done without the 500 "Tommy has a huge d*ck" jokes though. He does, we know, we've all seen it. Let's move on - to Pam's tits, that is.

Courtney was a mess, though, and that makes me sad. No, wait, it makes me mad. She's throwing it all away. Again. Poor Bean.

I just posted a thread with pics of Love at the event - enter at your own risk

Livia 08-16-2005 10:26 AM

I watched it - hucking filarious!!! That last lady, omg, potty-mouth! Well, everyone was....That Nick DiPaolo (sp?) guy was one of my faves...I'll have to watch it again, I was away from the TV during Bea Arthur's part.

I love when LOVE literally stumbled and practically fell walking up to hug PA at the end

All I'm gonna tell you is that Bea reads passages from Pam's "novel" - the parts about anal sex.

And the potty mouth? OMFG. I was dying. "I've had more black d*cks in me than a urinal at the Appollo!"

I was shocked at the stuff that made it on. Mark kept looking at me & asking "they can say THAT on TV?" Wait until you hear all the Andy Dick jokes.

Sara Silverman was OK, but her bit about her grandmother's house is priceless.

I never heard her say anything about Stevie on there, but she absolutely embarrassed herself when she kept RAVING about Aimee Mann's then-new album, while calling it "Mangolia" every. single. time.

My comments about it being bawdy and vicious and having a hysterical appearance by BEA ARTHUR weren't incentive enough?!

I always brake for Bea Arthur, but that one quote Paula posted had me gasping for air. The funny thing is that I saw a few minutes of "Showtime at the Apollo" yesterday afternoon.
