Filet Mingon or Prime Rib

Ok, its goofy time. first of all, let me apologize in advance those ledgies who arent carnivores. For me it;s no contest. I hate all the fat on Prie Rib, Filet Mingon all the way here. that is, on those occasions that I can actually afford it... otherwise its fliet mingon flavored ramen....... :p

GypsySorcerer 08-13-2005 11:44 PM

I don't eat steak unless forced. If I must, it's filet mignon.

gldstwmn 08-13-2005 11:46 PM

Filet, medium rare. :)

Non-carnivore ledgie here. :wavey:

Can't say I miss the taste of either.

Only things I miss are fried chicken, clam chowder, and tuna sandwiches (with pickles on top...mmmm).

amber 08-13-2005 11:52 PM

whichever is the thinnest and has the least fat. well done. maybe medium well.

Krista - like your sig pic. I loved that photoshoot, what a great series. She suddenly looked really different, though. You know, older, and happier....thinner...just different.

That photo shoot remains one of my favorites, as are most of the photos taken shortly before her death. She does look very different. I think it's a very natural look -- older, but more real, you know? :)

yeah, exactly. They are stunning, to me. although I don't love the orange lips. anyways....no, wait - I didn't love the white eyeshadow. hehehe. Still, though, really beautiful.

GateandGarden 08-13-2005 11:58 PM

Ewwww.....meat!

Okay, I do eat meat occasionally, but not steak. Yuck. I can deal with white meat only, and in small portions.

Anyway, yeah, that is a beautiful picture, Krista.

Yeah. The white eye shadow is so early 60s. Not good.

Have you seen that pic of her posing as Theda Bara? Awesome.

diamondsnake 08-14-2005 12:00 AM

Prime rib!!!

I like my steaks well marbled. If they are too lean, they don't have enough flavor, if you ask me. So, filets don't do it for me. They are great, but not as good as a prime rib. Ribeyes may be my favorite though.

Oh my God, my mouth is watering!!!

Filet mignon is nice for a little Frenchified dish with all the delicate little continental trimmings, like carrots julienne or little puff pastries of potato mush -- for those who like that sort of thing.

But I really prefer my filet on the bone -- in the form of a porterhouse steak.

I'm sure I have, but probably about 16 years ago, so I don't remember it offhand. Do you have it?

I just saw it for the first time about a year ago. According to this, it was 1958. :)

I've become a steak snob. The only kind I'll eat is filet mignon, medium. Tenderize it with a meat hammer, throw a little Steak Dust on it, grill it, and it's mouth watering. One of my favorite meals. Just had it last night, as a matter of fact!

Filet Mignon all the way

cooked medium to perfection..mmm....

Lexington. I lived in Western KY for five years, though.

HomerMcvie 08-14-2005 11:38 AM

Filet MiGNon, although I'm with Christopher, RIB-EYE is the best. I think it's the most tender, and has the best flavor. And, a steak CANNOT be too rare!

I hate it when the waitress feels that she must explain to me that RARE will be red on the inside, and possibly cool. I usually tell her I just want it slapped onto the grill, give it a quick suntan, and that IT! It's ready.

yes...a good vet should be able to get it back on it's feet in ten minutes. I once had a waitress deliver a DONE steak, I sent it back for a MEDIUM..it came back WELL done....still with the original cut I had made into it*LOL* idiots...

Well, it's a good little drive from your area. Personally, I think it's a very pretty town. :) Interestingly, I hated UK baseketball growing up. I've been converted since moving here. :D

So true. I probably would have been killed had I become a Louisville fan.

I've never had prime rib - and I've had filet mignon - so I'll choose that by default :p

Better him than me. I would love to go to a UK/UofL game, but the tickets are almost impossible to get. Maybe I could get some off ebay.

Yummm, Deanna. I love the gooey pancake batter, as it mixes & swirls with maple syrup.

But I generally do prefer cake, brownie & pie mixes & batters to the finished, baked product.

Give me cookie dough over a cookie anyday.

I agree with all that, except I do like my pancakes cooked well. Brownie batter and cookie dough are especially yummy.

Well I agree about the cookie dough and brownies - but I do like my pancakes to be finished

I made some cookies last night - I always pull them out early so they're this great combo of dough and cookie...I do that with brownies too...mmmm SO good.
