What's the last CD you purchased?

I just ordered Harmonium. Can't get some of those "tunes" out of my head.

mylittledemon 08-10-2005 08:21 PM

i got Richard Thompson's 'Front Parlour Ballads'....Dredg's 'Catch without Arms'...and the new Nickel Creek album. All three were pretty solid.

dissention 08-10-2005 08:27 PM

Carly Simon's Moonlight Serenade. I love Carly, but wasn't sure I would like it. However...I think it's fantastic.

GateandGarden 08-10-2005 08:46 PM

I might have to check out Josh's Carly pick.

Last one I bought was Lindsey's OOTC.

golden braid 08-10-2005 08:52 PM

System of a Down's Mezmerize.

estranged4life 08-10-2005 08:54 PM

That would be...

"W.A.R.P.E.D." by Chris Caffery, Ordered it directly from his official website http://www.chriscaffery.com and it was personally autographed to me for no extra charge...Gonna be ordering the Doctor Butcher (His side group with Savatage singer/keyboardist Jon Oliva) discs next from his website, If the reviews are any indication that should be one helluva heavy disc.

wondergirl9847 08-10-2005 10:16 PM

Dang..

I really can't remember. I think it was Be Here by Keith Urban. I've bought songs on iTunes since then, but that was probably the last CD I got.

David 08-10-2005 10:21 PM

A CD of klezmer music

JazmenFlowers 08-10-2005 10:39 PM

I bought Toni Braxton: The Remix Collection and Tori Amos: The Beekeeper on the same day a few weeks back. Toni's is ok, but Tori's rocks.

ha - I just noticed the similarity there...Toni and Tori. oh, well, it takes little to humor me...

Dark Angel 08-10-2005 11:58 PM

"Astronaut" (the CD/DVD set) - Duran Duran
Getting ready to buy the remasters of DD, Rio, Seven & The Ragged Tiger, and Arena.
:woohoo:

xdreamsunwindx 08-11-2005 01:18 AM

X - Los Angeles remaster. MmmMMMmMMmm.

Is this a new one?

eclipse 08-11-2005 06:03 AM

newest CD's

Went to Amazon.com and bought both Anna Nalick, and Madeline Peyroux

Anna is OK I like maybe 3 songs... Breathe 2:00-Wrwck of the day ,and ?

Peyroux is different-like a mellow Billie Holiday. It's basically an album of Covers done in a jazzy, blues effort- (Covers Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, etc)
Different...but I like it

As usual my musical tastes run the gauntlet..

Tori Amos' The Beekeeper--special edition w/ the DVD. :)

face of glass 08-11-2005 06:54 AM

The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac, to fill in a gap in the collection.

If we're talking about LPs, then Bob Welch's Eye Contact.

DrummerDeanna 08-11-2005 09:22 AM

Gosh - I can't even remember :distress: I think the last cd I bought was Loretta Lynn's 22 greatest hits.

Yeah, it's her newest. I just saw an ad for it on TV. She's singing standards on it.

I so didn't think I would like it, but I do. The title track and "How Long Has This Been Going On" are particularly good. Her voice is incredibly warm and sensuous on it, it's great. She's been talking about doing a tour and if she does, I can't wait to see her.

I love Carly-
She has a great voice for singing those old lush standards, I am glad that you like it- I think that on your recommendation, I shall pick it up-Thanks

And I am glad someone else has heard of Medeline Peyroux ;)
and she is just so listenable.... (is that a word??)

Hee hee. I love Kelly Clarkson. Breakaway will in fact be my next CD purchase, later today. I've bought half the tracks from Puretracks already; I'm just gonna cave and get the whole damn thing.

Last CD I did buy: Coldplay X and Y. As Paula said, "bite me."

It's actually pretty good, although I like the 3 singles best right now (which are the first 3 tracks - that annoys me for some reason.) Gone and Beautiful Disaster are very good too.

Lee 08-11-2005 10:58 AM

Oh, I love Kelly's new CD though I don't have her first one. Maybe someday I'll get it.

The last CD I got, no kidding, is Stevie's The Wild Heart. I really love it. I'm slowly building my Stevie collection as well as my Mac collection. When I saw the video of when Stevie was first in Vegas singing Beauty & the Beast, I found out what CD it was on & bought it. I know this sounds corny, but everytime I hear this song, it gives me chills. Great song. And there isn't a song on this CD that stinks, not a one.

Lee :)

trackaghost 08-11-2005 10:59 AM

A Mark Olson CD.

I don't think there are many Jayhawks fans in here sadly...

WELSH WITCH 08-11-2005 11:34 AM

Last CD, let me think....

That has to be the promo cd for the 2 voices 1 guitar tour by Mark Lennon and John Vester.

DrummerDeanna 08-11-2005 11:36 AM

OK - I just bought a couple of cds on my lunch break...

Live- Birds of Pray
Sarah McLachlan - Fumbling Towards Exstacy...

Sarah's best, IMO. I just caught her concert on Logo last night & was inspired to bring that CD to work today. I think I'll put it in right now...

chiliD 08-11-2005 01:11 PM

Ringo Starr's Choose Love & Ringo Rama.

I have been meaning FOR YEARS to get her earlier stuff - today I finally acted on it - mostly because the cd was only $5 :D

Good Enough and Ice Cream are two of my favorites on that CD.

SapphireSister 08-11-2005 02:09 PM

Def Leopard Rock of Ages (2-disk greatest hits collection)

"When you make love, do you look in the mirror? Who do you think of...does he look like me?". Doesn't get much better than that!

I rarely buy cd's. It's all about digital downloads.

skcin 08-11-2005 02:21 PM

^ "I don't wanna touch you too much baby, cuz making love to you might drive me crazy..."

macmar71 08-14-2005 04:00 PM

An 80's compilation called Heard it on the radio volume 5 and it has Sandy Stewart's Saddest Victoy on it as well as some other cool things.

vermicious knid 08-14-2005 05:58 PM

I just ordered "Coat of Many Colors" by Dolly Parton and "Rufusized" by Rufus. I already have a few things by Dolly, but it will be my first Rufus album. Just have to wait until they arrive.

DrummerDeanna 08-14-2005 05:59 PM

I just bought Carbon Leaf- Indian Summer...great album!!!

Admiral freebee-songs
arcade fire-funeral

I had to rearrange my whole collection two times in one week. It's in alphabetical order in segments of 25 cd's each. So two "A's" costed time...

Surprise!!!! ;)

I got a little less interested when Mark quit but I still bought every jayhawks album ever since (maybe missed one). But I miss his voice and songwriting on it. How's he doing solo?

Oh And I ADORE the Golden Smog-albums. Know them? Bet you do.
