dogs or cats

All this talk about cats begs me to answer the question: are you a dog or cat person?!

LiquidBlue5000 08-03-2005 12:42 AM

cat person! :wavey:

all the same 08-03-2005 12:44 AM

dogs for me. i have no time for cats. well, not all cats, but most cats. the fact that they have toxic feces and urine (so toxic that pregnant women can't change litter boxes) makes me think "Hmmm... cats are pretty lame!"

golden braid 08-03-2005 12:45 AM

Definitely a cat person.

Honey, you know what I'm all about. I. Like. Dogs.

macfanken 08-03-2005 01:17 AM

I've had both, I love dogs but cats have a special place in my heart. I had to have my kitty Luna put to sleep last year, she was only three but had been through a lot with me over those three years. One of the saddest things I've ever had to do was take her to the vet for the last time. :( Before her, I had another cat, Monkey... she literally died in my arms when she was only six. After those two experiences, I've decided that I'm done with pets. Sheesh... now I'm getting sad. It's amazing the impact a little fur ball can have on your life!

StevieNicksEO17 08-03-2005 01:43 AM

I like rabbits better, but that isn't a choice. Damn.

But, I'll go with dogs. I would have one, but my dad is allergic. :(

xdreamsunwindx 08-03-2005 01:47 AM

Pssh. Cats are so much better. <3

face of glass 08-03-2005 02:58 AM

I've had both, but cats are a bit closer to my heart these days. :)

HomerMcvie 08-03-2005 04:24 AM

Cats are fine, but dogs are like people(at least to me). :xoxo:

trackaghost 08-03-2005 04:34 AM

I'm definitely a dog person. I really miss having a dog.

xxxmx 08-03-2005 06:14 AM

i hate pet hair. i hate going to people's houses where i know i will walk out covered with full-body canine/feline lanugo. it makes me want to vomit everywhere just so i can have an excuse to go change my clothes.

that being said, i voted 'dog' but i really meant to say 'short haired non-shedding dog.' we had a poodle and he didn't shed, perfect dog.

GateandGarden 08-03-2005 06:42 AM

I've never owned either one but I love them both.

ryan8472 08-03-2005 07:22 AM

I'm a dog person.

ontheEdgeof17 08-03-2005 07:31 AM

Just Stevie Nicks...

Too busy buying plane and concerts tickets to feed another mouth around this place.

dissention 08-03-2005 07:53 AM

Dog person. Cats make me ill, I find them repellent. Something about them just...ugh, I could never own one.

Most definitely. **** and piss. The thought of it makes me ralph. Plus, I'm not a fan of cat hair and I don't like the smell of cats.

Neither could I. That's why I "released" mine into the wild (my yard) as soon as possible. We live on 4 acres and the main road is a pretty good distance from my driveway, so they're happy and safe and I'm happy. Even a litter box in the garage made me want to ralph.

That being said, I'm a cat person. This is Aubie.

Is there any question!!!!!!!

BTW - that beautimous little poop is my beloved MiMi the Sheep as a puppy.

DrummerDeanna 08-03-2005 09:21 AM

I am most definitely a dog person

I'm very allergic to cats - so I've never been able to be a cat person - though I find them very amusing.

Miss Vicky 08-03-2005 09:34 AM

Cats. There has never been a time in my life when I didn't have at least one and I hope there never will be. I have two right now and they bring me so much joy.

I don't like dogs. They jump on you, they slobber on you, and most importantly... they bite you. Or at least they like to bite me and it's never the pit bulls or rottweilers or any of the breeds that some people have been trying to get banned. A dalmation took a chunk out of my arm, a cocker spaniel chased me down the street, a maltese went for my ankle, a saint bernard tried to rip off my arm, and a golden retriever bloodied my nose.
When I tell people this, they assume that these attacks must've happened while I was at work (used to work for a vet's office) but that's not true. Only the maltese ankle-biting incident was at work. I simply passed by the dalmation and the saint bernard while they were being walked on leash (seperate incidents), the cocker spaniel was loose in my neighborhood and I was trying to get the info off of its tag, and I was petting the retriever after being told by the owner that she was friendly.

skcin 08-03-2005 09:51 AM

Both - I grew up with both & still have both. We had only dogs until I was about 9. My mom always wanted a cat but dad insisted the dogs would never tolerate it.

One day my mom got pissed at my dad & we came home with 2 cats. :D Eventually that grew to 5 cats & 2 dogs - totally out of hand. I swore I would never do that.

Fast forward 10 years - hubby wants a cat. I want a dog. We get Mrs. Bouvier (cat) from the SPCA. My brother finds 4 stray kittens (only a few days old) about a year later & begs us to take one - welcome Cosmo to our family. I still want my dog - we wait until we put up a new fence & adopt Bubba from Second Chance Boxer Rescue. That's it, that's my limit.

Dreammms 08-03-2005 10:06 AM

I love dogs. I always had a dog but a couple of years ago my german shepard husky died. I am thinking about getting a yorkie or chihuahua in a couple of months.

WildInTheWind 08-03-2005 11:10 AM

I am a cat person. Dogs annoy the **** out of me. They jump on you and chew stuff up, they are hard to train......cats you just show them the litter box and they are done. They are more independant. I am a single working mother and a dog (well, a puppy) would be like having another kid. That's the LAST thing I want right now.

Wow you have had bad luck with dogs! I don't really like them either.....but I've never been attacked by one.

markolas 08-03-2005 11:24 AM

I like them both, although I may like dogs just a little bit better. I have an aunt who once had 13 cats. She lived out in the country, so they stayed outside most of the time. Coyotes have devoured some of them, one was hit by a car, and one got into some ant poison and died. She's down to about 4 or 5 now, I think. All of them are about 20 years old and mean as hell (they take on the personality of their owner, I hear  ).

Hippocampus 08-03-2005 12:33 PM

Cats, cats & cats. So much that I can unscrew ticks & handle cat puke without the slightest discomfort.

Turn your face to the moonlight!

DrummerDeanna 08-03-2005 12:41 PM

Aww...my dog doesn't bite, slober or jump  She's a good girl. She's not "licky" either.

And cats are not without fault - they scratch, bite etc...worse than any dog I've ever had - there was this cat who once randomly jumped on my back - then realized it couldn't stay there - so it got the claws out - it was awful.

Some of the worst animal scratches/bites I've had have been from cats - not dogs.

When I read that, it's actually a point in favor of cats...

I like them both. I have cats. They are easier to take care of right now.

BUT when a person ****s in the bowl - it is immediately flushed away to another location - and there's water. It's not left to fester in a pile of smelly dirt.

Oh yeah, I love both.

I don't have much experience in handling the human version of the stuff. I'm afraid you're on your own... :D
