movies they should make

do you guys ever think about movies they should make?

movie about moronic psychopaths:

Dahm & Dahmer

trackaghost 07-28-2005 05:39 PM

I think they should make a movie about Steve Earle. The guy has had an interesting life, plus the soundtrack would rock.

Oh and one about a talking pig. Preferably one who wants to be a sheep dog. That would be super cool.

ShangriLaTroubl 07-28-2005 05:55 PM

Movie about the story of Rhiannon myths..lol

Yeah, it's just too bad he's such a whiney asshole.

I think a movie should be based on Alan Moore's graphic novel of the "Watchmen."

I think they should remake "The NeverEnding Story" as a 3 hr movie and try and make it more like the book. So much juicy stuff in that novel was left out in the original movie.

I was going to say "Chronicles of Narnia" but I just found out they ARE making those!

Peter Jackson should return to do "The Hobbit."

I've been waiting for years for "Ghostbusters III." Dont think we'll see that one...

The BBC made a bunch of them back in the eighties that were incredibly faithful to the books.

Serrart 07-28-2005 06:49 PM

1) the biography of the Russian poet Osip Mandel Stam.

2) a comedy from Deborah Moggach's book "These Foolish Things"

3) Another Tempest version with Tony Hopkins

4) A movie from Captain Harlock and Galaxy Express 999 anime.

Terry Gilliam was going to do it a while back, but I don't know what's happening to it now.

I like a lot of his music, but gawd, he comes off as a whiney little bitch otherwise.

He was on Air America a lot last year and he drove me nucking futs.

You know, I don't think I've ever heard him talk but a lot of his music is great and his life is pretty interesting - I've always thought they should make a movie of it. And you know me, I'm a sucker for whiny assholes, it's why I like indie music so much.

i saw an add for this like almost two years ago in the NY times... so very excited. i've been rereading the series. i'm up to chapter 15 in 'the Silver Chair'... we were force-fed TLTWTW back in elementary (christian school) and i liked it, but now i love it.

also: i would love to see Ethan Hawke's "The Hottest State" made into a movie. don't bash because he wrote it, it's actually quite great.

I definitely agree with that.

I'm also really looking forward to Chronicles of Narnia.

A flim biography of Leni Riefenstahl the German director of the Third Reich propaganda film Triumph of the Will.It may be controversial and not really politically correct but she had such a uniquely 20th century life and was an incredibly interesting character it could be a riveting film.I 'd like to see Cate Blanchett or Jodie Foster in the role.

David 07-29-2005 01:07 AM

Now I hear they're also doing "The Night Stalker" for ABC. They haven't even released the original GOOD series on DVD yet. What ****tards.

Mari 07-29-2005 03:17 AM

a Star Trek Voyager movie where Captain Janeway (drool) and Seven finally get it on.

I agree. The end of that series made me weep. They didn't show you anything at all after they got home!

And Kate & Seven never got it on. ;)

Mari 07-29-2005 06:25 AM

^ Not on screen, maybe! But in cyberworld...

You're right. I should search for some fan fiction...

Maybe they should have made Janeway and Seven have a relationship on the show. After all, if B'Elanna Torres and Tom Paris can have a relationship (and what a heinous couple they made) and Harry Kim (twit) and even the hologram doctor can have relationships, why not the captain and her Borg? :p

NaiveMelody23 07-29-2005 08:04 AM

I'd like to see a faithful movie version of Shirley Jackson's "We Have Always Lived In The Castle." I beleive if someone didi it right and made it faithful to the book; it would be amazing, but if someone did it horrible it would be on Lifetime

Actually as far as I know there's some buzz about it, and someone is writing a script. We'll see. :)

Yeah but its kinda like Terminator 3 in a sense. As cool as the idea of it was, and as long as the wait from T2 built up the anticipation...and then the movie totally sucked, and it ruined the "legacy" of the first two. So I'm afraid of what they would do with Ghostbusters III, as much as I would like to see it. I think it should have been done in 1994-1996...to pull it back now would probably mean Columbia is merely looking for a cash cow. Although if Akroyd, Murray, Ramis, and Hudson were all back and they had a hand in the script....it could be something.

I agree, sequels (and prequels) most of the time are a waste of time, with some exceptions, like Godfather 2, that for me is better than the original. About Ghostbusters, I could be wrong but I think Ramis and Aykroyd are directly involved in the project. I 'm not sure if Murray, now that he is an auteurs'muse, would like to return to Ghostbusters. But he has a great sense of self-orony, so who knows?

Roger Zelazny's Chronicles of Amber would make a GREAT movie.

I remember Darin McGavin in the original series, that was AWESOME, WAY before the x-files or Millenium or anything...

I'd never heard of it, but my mom like Zelazny a lot. I looked it up on Amazon. Apparently I will want to read it. :)

"For the love of god, if you have not read Amber then do so. It is, without a doubt, the greatest series ever written. Once read, it is impossible to forget Amber [ sorry, can't help myself.] - the one true city. Its characters and the plot are mesmerizing. I find myself thinking about Amber so often [teehee] I re-read the book about once a year. I won't go into the plot, as I'm sure other reviews will have this. The only thing I wish to convey is that if you are a fan of literature or if you like fantasy, this book is a must have. Anyone who likes to read will fall in love with this book."

SteveMacD 07-30-2005 11:18 PM

The movie I'd like to see would be the Gram Parsons' story.

irishgrl 07-30-2005 11:23 PM

I would also like to see Neil Gaiman's Sandman Series.
and anything by Tanis Lee.

a quick overview: Each member of the Royal House of Amber carries around a deck of cards (the deck has each family member portrayed on a card) that they use to communicate between each other (to talk to a particular family member, they get out that person's card and concentrate on the image until they "feel" that person is "there") they can also teleport between places using the cards as portals. its a great series and is told from the viewpoint of the family "black sheep" but in reality, its true hero.

Coooooool....I tried to read some Zelazny when I was younger, but couldn't get into it. I think I will "do" this one, though, it sounds really good. Thanks!
