It seems too short to be his finger and looks more like a pencil. But, it is HYSTERICAL nonetheless  Thanks for posting

Hmmm... but he has those stubby little monkey fingers! Ok, maybe it's a pencil... I can't really tell. Here's a link to the video. http://onegoodmove.org/1gm/1gmarchiv...61.html#002261

Well, there's the ears and the fact that he has no transposable thumbs

In that site - it does appear to be "the bird" - and this from the leader with the moral character

I agree now - but when I first saw it on this old monitor, I thought he was thrusting his first in the air and had a pencil in it. It is easier to see on my monitor when I went to the site Ken (THANK YOU KEN) linked.

BTW isn't it funny how there is no rectangular box under the back of his jacket in this pic

Remember when he called that reporter a "major asshole" when he didn't think his microphone was on? I expect nothing less from that piece of **** and am so overjoyed that he did this. The floodgates of bad press will now open. :D

Maybe someone said something negative about his lying cheerleader Judy Miller and it pushed him over the edge.

Did you hear where La Miller is sleeping on a mattress on the floor in jail and plans to stay there until Oct. when the GJ expires only to be reconvened.

Her husband, BTW and in the meantime - is on a pleasure cruise and had no comment

DrummerDeanna 07-28-2005 12:56 PM

The reason she's staying put is because she is the source. I hope she has a miserable time in jail, that lying piece of garbage.

Don't even get me started on Frank Rich, either. What an odious windbag. The day I feel sorry for Judith Miller is the day winged monkeys fly out of me arse and carry me to Oz.

Did you read that wretched piece Rich wrote a few days ago about Miller and the whole scandal? I needed every ounce of strength that I had to stop from ralphing.

Yea - it was pretty much crap. I mean the law has been for a long time that a reporter has no right to a confidential source when it impedes a criminal matter. I get all the arguments against that, but as a lawyer, I can tell you it is hard enough to put criminals away without that BS and it is BS because though the reporter may actually have some altuistic intent, they are mostly making a name for themselves to broaden the appeal of their by line. how's that for cynical

Yeah, if his thumb is growing out of the top of his hand... between his fingers!

Here's Scotty's response today:

Q Scott, last night on the Tonight Show, Jay Leno, who apparently is subbing for Johnnie, displayed a video of the President at the Capitol yesterday. In that video, the President walking away from the press lifts his hand and raises a finger. Mr. Leno interpreted it as, shall we say, a finger of hostility. Each of our fingers has a special purpose and meaning in life. (Laughter.) Can you tell us what finger it was he held up?

MR. McCLELLAN: Ken, I'm not even going to dignify that with much of a response. But if someone is misportraying something, that's unfortunate.

Q Well, it was not a finger of hostility?

MR. McCLELLAN: Ken, I was there with him, and I'm just not going to -- I'm not going to dignify that with a response. I mean, I haven't seen the video that you're talking about, but I know the way the President acts. And if someone is misportraying it, that's unfortunate.

Ok, hasn't this guy gotten the word that 1) Johnny Carson RETIRED 15 years ago and was PERMANENTLY replaced by Jay Leno and 2) Johnny DIED 4 months ago?

Those reporters don't get out of the briefing room very often. Look at Helen Thomas, she's been stuck in that room for 60 years!!

OK... I assume the reporter was trying to be funny... although probably in bad taste since Carson is dead!

Reason #104976049 why people who aren't funny should not try to be. :distress:

Puffy McMoonface should have set the record straight. Since he didn't, I retract my theory of the thumb and submit that I too believe Bush was flipping off the press.

Just in case you have any doubts... here's a close up. Definitely not a thumb.

Remember when she got into a huge blow-up with Ari Fleischer?

"Why does he want to drop bombs on innocent Iraqis?"

"Helen, the question is how to protect Americans."

"They're not attacking you."

"You must have forgotten about the Americans who were killed in the first Gulf War."

"So, is this revenge, 11 years of revenge?"

Man, that was priceless. She's got balls.

He's doing a thumbs up, actually. If you watch the video, you can see how his hand moves, creating the thumbs up motion.

Also, if he were flipping them off, you would see the bent (or folded over) pointer with the thumb on the side. If you look at the picture, it's obviously his fist running perpendicular to the floor and his thumb is up.

I hate Dubya, but he's not flipping anyone off.
