Your favorite performance of the Two Voices/Gold Dust Tour
I thought it would be interesting to see which song you enjoyed seeing Stevie perform most over the last few months (including Vegas). I know some of you still have some dates (I have one more tonight and you guys can post after your shows) but for those of you who have seen her let's hear!
I have 3...the first one is How Still My Love from Saturday night in Vegas (my first time seeing Stevie solo). I had always loved this live on the boots I have and had no idea she was going to be doing this. Well when the song came on that was the time they let us rush the stage and I made it up directly in front of Stevie for this song! You can imagine what a moment that was for me to be standing in front of her singing my favorite live song and it was a total surprise. And who couldn't love how she sexed it up ;). The second one is BATB Vegas. Do I even need to explain? The third one is Circle Dance from last Saturday in San Diego. When I first heard she was doing this I was not excited at all. A Bonnie Raitt cover? Why not Rooms on Fire or Bella Donna? Then I heard a boot and fell in love with the song but I can't say I was totally excited about hearing it live. Well shockingly it turned out to be the highlight of the night for me. I got really emotional and my eyes welted up. It was such a special moment. I think it was also the novelty of having Stevie sing something I've never heard her sing live before combined with the tenderness and emotion behind the song and seeing her connect so deeply to it. Hopefully I'll have another one from tonight! |
I would have to say If Anyone Falls because ive wanted her to do that one for a while now. Before the tour even started I was hoping that she would bring it back and she did.
As far as HSML and CD, I really didnt care for them. I think she is doing a great job with Stand Back and Enchanted especially at my show. |
In no particular order:
Hotel California Rock and Roll at Red Rocks EO17 at Red Rocks Friday night in Vegas-BATB - cuz it was the first time I saw it, had no idea she was doin' it, and bawled like a baby... Rhiannon in Houston - just something about it GDW in Houston because it was unique - the only "non-singing-head-holding" ending instead of "baby, baby, baby" ending... Stand Back in Houston - also unique - the chicken dance during "I need a little sympathy..." |
I would have to say it's "New York Minute" at Holmdel, NJ. I think she should have gone on to cover this song solo on the Gold Dust Tour. The way she delivers the lines "If you find someone to love in this world, you better hang on tooth and nail; the wolf is always at your door" always gives me chills.

batb in vegas and red rocks priceless!

Tuesday's Beauty and the Beast in Vegas - it still gives me chills...

I agree with this one. She delivers that line with such conviction. She really means it. Favorite moments for Kelly. Sorcerer...Wednesday in Vegas. Sexiest Stevie ever. :p Philly...when she walked out for Hotel California. The place erupted, it was a bit sad for Don but it gave me chills. Stevie got a huge grin, like "I know I am cute". BatB in Vegas, both nights but especially Tuesday. Bawled like a baby of course. God it was amazing. |
For some reason, Sorcerer really got to me in Charlotte. I think Stevie was really getting into it and it sounded awesome!
That....and Rock and Roll. Of course. |

Beauty & the Beast - first night in vegas
there's a reason why everyone makes note of this performance. |
My favorite performance of the Two Voices/Gold Dust Tour, all of them. hahaha.
lol , Leather and Lace, my first time hearing it with Don.Golddust woman with Don. of course Standback at both tours was awesome as always.Stevie teaming up on Don's tunes especially Hotel California .Beauty and the Beast I love that number.Circle Dance was good, but I would prefer have her sing 100 different other covers , the same thing goes to Zeps Rock and Roll . I like to hear her sing Stairway to Heaven instead. Stevie's Choreographed dancing, Twirling and hand movements are awesome as she sends her message across to her audience. P.S. I hit my 69 post as a Leggie lol. |

I am loving the "Gold Dust Woman" from this recent tour....especially in Ft Lauderdale, where she REALLY got into it... "You can't save me now....you can't do it now....wish you could see me now..."
|
for me, it was would be "Beauty And The Beast", "New York Minute", and "Outside The Rain".... all 3 for most of the shows were performed perfectly...

Well, sadly, I was only able to see her once this summer (unless you come back to Toronto, Stevie... I'm just saying...) - and that was in Detroit. But it was the best Stevie performance I've ever seen. I kept realizing during the show that I was holding my breath; I just couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing. I had to force myself to breathe. And I wanted it to never end.
Highlights, highlights: 1 - Even though I knew it was coming, I literally was about to leap out of my skin in anticipation of her coming out during Hotel California. And it was just indescribable. I don't think I've ever screamed so loud at a show. Poor little Bree beside me may have had her eardrums blown out. Though, she was screaming just as loudly. :xoxo: Total shivers when the place erupted. I'm so glad. Stevie deserved all that love. 2 - Listening to Sevie sing the line, "She has a lot of pretty pretty boys... that she calls friends." Made me giggle. 3 - Beauty and the Beast. The angst-filled scream. Enough said. |

For the Detroit show........definitely Hotel California!!
For the Grand Rapids show....... Circle Dance and Sorcerer :) |
From the Don/Stevie shows:
I agree: Hotel California in Philly was awesome. It was just not the song you'd expect her to come out on. And it was funny--because there was a definite "theme" to Don's first three songs--Genie, I Put a Spell on You and Witchy Woman--which should have been BIG clues but when a friend of mine grabbed my arm and pointed and I saw Stevie making her way out on stage as Hotel California started--it was amazing. And then of course she sang NY Minute and Last Worthless Evening--which are big favorites of mine...so, I was one happy camper. I didn't particularly like Rock and Roll Star the first time I heard it because I thought it was kind of a flat, odd way to end the show--but I really loved it the second time around. And I also was a big fan of the "baby, babys" from GDW and wish she wouldn't have dumped them for the Borgata shows (I hear they are back, though, which makes me happy). Stevie's Gold Dust tour--well, one of the biggest highlights was being there when she put on The Hat for the first time for her little Rock and Roll encore. She just looked awesome and had the full-out Rock Goddess attitude going for her. But, the absolute highlight of this tour, for me, has been the Circle Dance. I liked it with Stevie and Don and remember thinking that I shouldn't, probably, listen too closely to the words because they might get to me. When she sang it solo, though--I listened. And the second night at the Borgata--I actually cried a little. I've gotten misty before but this was a bit more than that;-) It was such a weird thing because while I automatically thought of my dad (who has been gone for 9 years now), the lyrics really didn't reflect the type of relationship I had with him but there is just something about the song and the honest way she sings it that just tugs your heartstrings and releases these emotions that you weren't even sure were still there. And...cue Lindsey's cycle speech--but it's very odd because I came to love Stevie/Lindsey/FM because of the way I was living my life after my dad died. Kind of not living--not making waves--just hoping nothing bad would ever happen to my family again. Their music, in a way, helped me break out of that mode and that's why I love them all so much--and here Stevie was--singing about it almost directly. I know she didn't write the song but I will never forget that performance. It touched my heart and I just remember thinking that it was a magical little gift she gave us that evening that I will hold with me for many, many years to come. |

Oh, someone put her on ice....and the table...and the shower...and the floor....and the couch...and the balconey....and the pool. : > ) |

You were there too? And here I thought I was the only lucky one. |

My cheeks still get red thinking about it. Total Hotness. |

I'm not picking on you. I'm guilty as charged. :wavey: |
New favorite moment - Stand Back in Los Angeles. The crowd went insane, especially for a west coast crowd. I've seriously never seen her perform this with more energy and vigor I NEVER get sick of seeing it. It's so adorable when she twirls she picks a spot and looks straight ahead which you are suppose to do when you twirl so you don't get dizzy and fall lol.
Side note - I always do the back arch move she does in the video when she sings "Like a willow, I can bend" being the big dork that I am. |

ahhhh, so that's her secret ;) now i know what to do from now on  :p |

Mine would have to be each of the Don Henley songs she dueted on with him.
I mean, who would have ever though that I'd get to hear Stevie sing with Don on Hotel California?! New York Minute...the whole tooth and nail verse rocked! The Last Worthless Evening...when she sung, "And it just breaks my heart..." oh it gave me chills. Just the way she sings the word heart...gets me every time. Circle Dance was also a highlight...wish I could have seen one of the solo shows...and GDW was my favorite out of her own songs, just for the "baby baby baby" ending. Just love it! |
Does anybody have a copy of Stevie doing Circle Dance solo or know where one is posted for download? If so PLEASE pm me. I must have it! I have one of her and Don but it's just not the same...
|
My favorite is Landslide from the 7/6/05 Minneapolis show. She dedicated the song to Kim Anderson (her ex-husband), adding "I know you're out there baby, and this is for you." Oh, and her moves during "Sorceror" were pretty awesome too.
I guess that whole night was my favorite, because she was in front of me. No downloading, no DVD's or Torrent. It was her and me, and for a few hours I was having the time of my life. |
Has anyone else (besides Stevie) fallen in love with Circle Dance as much as I have? I've had it in my head all day. What a beautiful song! I'd love to hear the Bonnie Raitt version to although I'm sure it won't compare to Stevie doing it live.

For Old Times Sake...BUMP
I was going through old threads I started and came upon this one. I had totally forgotten about the details of this tour, what great memories! The Ledge has been like a diary of my Stevie affair. Too bad I took a break from 2006-2009 lol. I can't believe this was 6 years ago and I'm still saying the same things lol!
No response needed, just thought I'd share! |
if anybody has any good videos of this tour please post them.
|
Sure. Here ya go.
