IMMUNITY QUESTION

1. In June 1970, BBC's "Top of the Pops" asked Christine McVie/Perfect to appear on the show in order to perform the song "When You Say." She turned down the offer, & instead took off on vacation with her husband. Where did Chris & John go?

2. Stevie, Lindsey & Mick were guests for the halftime show at the USC-ASU game at the Los Angeles Coliseum on Oct. 4, 1980. Immediately before the three Macsters went out on the field to celebrate with the Trojan Marching Band for a rousing performance of "Tusk," what Fleetwood Mac song did the Trojans play?

3. At the same halftime show (Oct. 4, 1980), what name was spelled out by the marching band members on the field -- & how was it spelled?

Greece. Immunity to Mr. McVie.

Don't Stop

Immunity To Welch.

SteveMacD 07-21-2005 03:13 PM

So, now do we have a three-way tie?

David 07-21-2005 08:53 PM

Round 14 Results: Welch Scotched!!

What we have here is a very weird situation. It figures.

We don't have a three-way tie, but we do have immunity for Green & McVie. Since Green & McVie are immune this round, that means that Welch is automatically out. (The song the Trojans played was "Go Your Own Way.")

So ... ROUND 15 IS HERE!!!

Two players left:
Peter Green
John McVie

I couldn't be more thrilled with the results thus far. Who would have thought that either Peter or John would make it to the very final round? It's high time those two tasted the joy of victory!

Let the voting commence!

P.S. No immunity this time. It's a duel to the bloody finish.

Last Round Peter Green

John for the win!

Well now wait a sec....isn't them the rules?

How do you play this game?

If Green & McVie are both immune, what do you do? Do the round over again with all three?

Welch has gotta take the fall, man. There's no one else!

jwd 07-21-2005 09:11 PM

Stevie Nicks

Stevie for the win. **** THE RULES! :woohoo:  :wavey:

I don't watch all this reality survivor crap, so I'm not sure about the rules, either. I don't "think" double immunity is an option. Hell, I don't know.
Who watches this crap?

SteveMacD 07-21-2005 09:19 PM

This guy for the win!

I certainly don't. But, if Stevie got the boot because of my granting Billy immunity, then it stands to reason that Welch would get the boot if I granted immunity to Peter and John. :sorry:

Excellent point, homie!!!!

Green's immunity was FIRST ... so Green is the only one of the three who is immune.

LET THE PREVIOUS ROUND CONTINUE, BY PROCLAMATION!!!!

But I guess we'll need another immunity question:

Which of the following FM songs contain no minor chord? (Choose three)

1. You Make Loving Fun
2. Blue Letter
3. Angel
4. Songbird
5. I Don't Want to Know
6. Bella Donna
7. The Wild Heart

Upon further review, I think this is a loaded question.

Well, 6 & 7 aren't Fleetwood Mac songs, so those can automatically be thrown out. :D

From experience, YMLF and "Songbird" both have minor chords. However, I've seen IDWTK and "Blue Letter" both written with minor chords, though in my "Fleetwood Mac Anthology" book, IDWTK does not appear to have any minor chords, but those books aren't always reliable. Hence why I chose "Angel," which I've NEVER seen transcribed with a minor chord. However, I'm only assuming that David's referring to the Stevie Nicks song, not the Bob Welch song, as he listed only "Rumours" era songs. So I could be wrong, since the Welch song probably has a minor chord in it.

DAMN YOU OBERMAN AND ALL OF YOUR CONFUSING IMMUNITY QUESTIONS!!! http://www.addis-welt.de/smilie/smilie/boese/wife.gif

I Don't Want To Know
Angel

At least according to all my songbooks, there are no three, and two songs are Stevie solo, not FM.

Anyway, if correct, immunity to Bob Welch.

GypsySorcerer 07-22-2005 01:10 AM

Let's just crown Dave Mason the winner already! :woohoo:

The gray anthology book? I've got that one, although I've not seen it for years. It's in a closet....somewhere here.
I'm doing all these from memory, but I'm 99% sure I'm correct!
IDWTK-All B,F#,and E
Angel- all D,C,G
Wild Heart- hell, I've not listened to it for sooooo long, I can't remember the chords, BUT, you are correct that YMLF and Songbird both have minor chords. Bella Donna does too-G minor on the "no speed limit". And, Blue Letter goes from A to B minor, so that's out, too. So the third song has to be, by default, The Wild Heart.
How lazy am I, that I don't go into the next room, dig it out, and listen to it?

Which isn't a Fleetwood Mac song. The way the question was phrased, it was "Which FM song..." So, that would be disqualified.

Let's get Greenie outta here this round!

Oh, that was a typo. I just meant pick all the songs on that list that had no minor chords. You guys are so literal-minded!

If you've seen IDWTK written with minor chords, it was written incorrectly!

As it so happens, pal, Bob's "Angel" is one of my favorites, although I totally wasn't thinking about it when I threw in "Angel."

It's chock-a-block full of minor 7ths.

I have just totally (inadvertently) screwed up this game! I feel like such a clown! :] :]

So David, what you're saying is that you meant for us to pick all the songs with no minor chords, correct? Like I did, correct? I'm a good boy, and answered your question correctly then, correct? :wavey:

Howzabout we start back at Round 13? No more immunities, or ONE immunity that only has ONE answer? It would be easier.

Didn't I answer his question correctly, even IF he counts Stevie songs as FM songs? I've been playing the chords to these damn songs MY WHOLE LIFE! I need to get some pay back for that! ;)

Please, YOU only answered IDWTK originally. You went back and changed after I posted "Angel." At least when I modified my response, I didn't go and add to my answer! Damnit, I want my guy to win, too, but let's play fair!

I changed it because I didn't see the words "pick three" in my rush to post! After I read my post, I THEN saw "pick three".

Well no one is playing but you and me anyway, and there have NEVER been any clear rules anyway. Because obviously, the rules from the other Survivors haven't counted, for the most part, in this game anyway. So no one's guessed immunity then, or what? See, the correct answers are in my post, so..............................................this game sucks. :sorry: Enough with this Survivor ****.

Round 14 Results: No One Kicked Out!!!

SteveMacD answered "TUSC" & gave immunity to GREEN.
SteveMacD answered "Greece" & gave immunity to MCVIE.
HomerMcvie answered "IDWTK/Angel/Wild Heart" & gave immunity to WELCH.

So all three were immunized for Round 14!!! What an unprecedented display of loyalty & support for these aging Macsters!!!

Round 15 commences now! In play are:

ROBERT WELCH
JOHN MCVIE
PETER GREENBAUM

No immunity questions any more (notice how I spell "any more" as two words). It's too confusing for my quivering little organ upstairs.
