Dedication

Recently I asked about favorite album dedications.
This time I'm asking, if you could write the dedication (anonymously) for Stevie's next album, what would it say? To whom (in Stevie's life) would you deicate the album?

- Jake

GardenStateGirlie 07-18-2005 11:38 PM

Not sure what it would say but I think it would be dedicated to her father or Lindsey. I think they are the two men in her life that have known the real Stevie (besides you, of course  ).

Dreammms 07-18-2005 11:40 PM

Either a dedication to Lindsey or Sharon. Not sure what I would say. I guess something about them always being there all these years.

Hard to imagine something to Sharon and not Lori. I always thought the three of them could do an album called Yellow, Black, And Red.

Those blue eyes of yours are captivating, Jake. Like Stevie, I will never forget the first time I saw you -- you reminded me of blue denim  ;)

Her father. I couldn't imagine what she'd say. Maybe "This is for you daddy..."

Well, Sharon has been on every album and tour with her. So I just think a dedication to her would be nice. Stevie, Sharon and Lori can pull a Destiny's Child and have every member sing a part of the song.

Up until a few years ago I wanted brown contacts. I'd have them except I wear hard lenses & I won't go to soft ones. My friend Jen always screamed at me "You idiot! Every normal person gets blue contacts, & you want to get brown to cover your blue eyes up!" My eyes are such an odd dark blue shade (and I like light blue eyes, like most folks) and I refer to them as smurf**** blue.

This album is dedicated to ledge. Without you I would not have realized the importance of changing my dress every decade or so. That made me stronger, it made me hold on to me. xoxox

Simple and sweet. I think she'd be too emotional to write more than that.
I hope she knows what a fine daughter she is. Her parents just beam with pride, and you can see her devotion when she's with them or speaking of them.

I love the calling back & forth on All The Beautiful Worlds. :blob2:
Not the solos you speak of, but good enough for me!

I love that song too! On Desert Angel it also sounds like Sharon and Lori have their own part singing Faces Of You.

Please, she's saving that dedication for the album of songs we wrote on the subject. ;)

Yeah, it comes up on a few, but I love it most, I think, on All The Beautiful Worlds & Love Is Like A River. Both songs have that back and forth punch from the beginning.

:xoxo: Don't you dare! I'm with Jen -- dark hair, blue eyes? You're a rarity. DON'T, YOU IDIOT! Smurf**** blue -- lovely. How in the hell do you get hard contacts into (and out of) your eyes and why in the world do you prefer them? :distress:

I always think it's striking when darker folks have light eyes, so I'm having trouble picturing it as a bad thing.

i do too... but they looked weird on him for some reason... like they were fake or something... the brown eyes looked more natural for him... when he didnt have them in, he looked as if he was wearing blue contacts... and he looked stoned...

My hair isn't that dark. Not compared to my parents' and brother's. In my mind I'm still the little kid with blond hair, Charlie in the candy factory.
I've worn hard lenses (well, gas perm these days - I miss the old glass ones they don't make anymore) for almost 33 years. They were a bar mitzvah gift when I was twelve. I wore a temporary soft one for a week a few years ago and HATED it. The bending, the fragility, the huge lens going into the eye. Yuck.

I still think it's hysterical that you were blond while the rest of your family has darker hair.

Congrats on the bar mitzvah -- here's some contacts, kid  Don't your eyes get dry with them in? I wear special contacts so my eyes can take more oxygen in -- I was having some issues with lines forming. I can't imagine having something hard in my eye.

Strangers thought I was adopted. My mom got sick of it & started frosting her hair in the '70s (somehow I guess she thought it looked natural  )
and that's when my hair started getting darker. I was rebelling from the start.

You rebel, you. Well do you at least look sort of look like them now? I think I looked more like my parents when I was a child. Ask Meredith how much I look like NO ONE in my entire family. My mother has long blond hair (it's not as blond as it used to be--she frosted too), is a few inches shorter than me (i'm Sasquatch compared to her) and my dad is my height (maybe an inch taller), a little heavy with curly dark brown hair (grey as well -- and he's balding a little too).

I don't look like my parents, but I look like all four grandparents - especially both grandfathers - and none of them look anything alike.
Supposedly I look a lot like my mother's father's father, followed by my mother's father.

That's really strange -- especially if none of them look anything alike. I don't look like my grandparents either  At least not those that i've met (and I don't think I resemble the grandfather I didn't meet). I'm a mystery

Oh my! I am suddenly feeling a little flush and a rush of excitement came over me just wanting to see Jake's eyes. :o They sound stunning. Smurf****? These are for color only - would you say that Smurf**** is close to this color :distress: or this color ;) Maybe even this color :( Or perhaps this color :blob2:. Which is the closest to Smurf****?

This is the color of Smurfpee by the way  and it is close to my hair color without highlights.

Marissa was being generous. (She saw me all of five seconds.) My eyes are more of a faded dark blue - not really like any of the smilies. Somebody once called them storm blue. A little more flattering than Smurf**** blue.

Your Dad is tres cute. And your Mom? Doesnt look old enough to have a kid your age. What did Stevie just say about the new drummers mom? She must have "had him when she was seven?". That is sort of what I thought the first time I saw your Mom.

Speaking of cheetah, my mother wears reading glasses and she has a new case. She held it up to show me yesterday -- "look! it's animal print!" Yep. You guessed it.

It's leopard now. Keep up, thanks.
