I know nobody can replace stevie but when i saw this pic it made me think
that maybe this is how stevie might have looked when she was 20.

Stevie would never combine her signature clothing with bitchface.

She looks like an Olsen twin in auditions for Interview With The Vampire. :distress:
And when was the last time you could see all the way up Stevie's thighs through her dress?

trackaghost 07-13-2005 02:29 PM

God, that girl needs to put on some weight. Scary.

Mokona 07-13-2005 02:32 PM

Ugh, no. :distress: I'm saying this in my best Ralph Wiggum impression - "Avril's scary!"

What would you do if you were in a dark alley with this pair? Stevie looks infinitely warmer and softer than Avril. Lindsey much more than Deryck Whibley too.

Dear God--I hate Avril with a passion.

Yuck.

CreepingDeath 07-13-2005 04:01 PM

Oy, that broad makes me ill.

I'm still not over the fact that she mispronounced David Bowie's name during the Grammy nominations. WTF?

GypsyBoy87 07-13-2005 10:09 PM

give her a break..

i personaly like avril, i used to HATE her, untill i realised there wasnt a song of hers i didnt like...as a person i dont agree with alot of the things she does, and her voice is ok, live i hear its not very good, but please at least admit she is a good song writer, and i also like the fact that she doesnt show off her body as a selling point ( very simmilar to stevie)

Jessica Leigh 07-13-2005 11:10 PM

i have to say, after being dragged to an avril concert last year by a teenage coworker of mine (when a friend of mine found out that i had gone to the avril show he asked if i was babysitting  ) that little girl really is talented. she played acoustic, electric, drums, piano, and organ. she had so much energy and really knew how to connect with an audience (and no, not every person in the audience was an adolescent... there were plenty of ppl in their 20s and 30s there) i used to make fun of her and call her a wannabe... but she changed my mind- i really really think she's going to be around in this business as long as she wants to be.

Um, Avril sweetie, that hairdo...... no. Just no.

xxxmx 07-14-2005 12:59 AM

a) i can't stand avril

b) at least you didn't post a picture of an olsen or of britney spears' pregnant gut

c) i caught her on some new years' eve show and she actually impressed me, very clear voice and non-completely-sucky lyrics

d) i still can't stand her and homegirl needs to eat

e) and not part her hair in the middle - makes her look like she's about to unzip her face like an alien

f) jennifer tilly sported the same dress for a photo series a while back - jennifer = bangable, avril = bitchface (i so love that)

Thank you, I agree, I think Avril is talented and has a good voice. :)

Phew. I'm glad someone posted this. I'm not a huge Avril fan, but Avril's not your run-of-the-mill talentless hack. At least she and her management were smart enough to get Butch Walker to produce her last album. ;) Also, the legs thing, in that first photograph: Yes, you can see the shape of her legs in that outfit, but you can't actually see her flesh--maybe she's got leggings or opaque tights on. I don't see what the big deal is.

Those are really her legs showing? I thought it was draped fabric. If those are her legs showing through, she looks like a midget or something. Are you sure those are legs?? Doesn't look right to me....

I only have heard a few of her songs, and I think she's very talented. I like how she writes her own songs and dresses in her own way. I may no longer be a rebel teen, but I can remember back then in my life. I prefer that look of hers to blatant sex, showing off your body just to get fans and publicity. It's funny to me how some will hide behind their baring it all. Funny, huh?

I'd rather see my daughter (well, she's only five, so too young right now) to be blaring Avril or dressing like her than Britney or others like that.

I think we just need to remember her age. She's not thirty-something. She's a teen (well, not sure how old she is now...has she turned 20 or 21 yet - even still, that's "youth", young-adult).

If she mispronounced David Bowie's name, oh well. She's younger and may not have heard of him much. Some people call her April.... I think we can be forgiving enough for little oopsies, no?

Maybe she just pronounced it with an accent. She is Canadian, after all. ;)

Avril, no matter what she ever says, will always be the world's biggest poser. Plain n' simple. She can't match Stevie on any level. Having said that, my sister sure likes her. And I'm sure she's said the same thing about Stevie before.

How did she pronounce it exactly?
I know us Brits say it different to Americans.
We say bow-ee as in bow wow or take a bow
Whereas most Americans I've heard say bo-ee, as in a bow on a present or a cross-bow.
And old Dave says he doesn't mind which way people say it since it's not his real name - that's Jones.

That's how she did it. bow wow ee. only, bow ee. Ha! My like for April is vindicated - she was just being British with it!!! oops, Avril. hehe.

wondergirl9847 07-14-2005 06:20 PM

Sharon...

She said David Bow-ee (as in take a bow and eeee). Like ya'll do.

David Jones...yep, he changed it because of Davy Jones from The Monkees.

And Canadians pronounce some things differently too, so maybe most Canadians says Bow-wow-ee (hee! - now everytime I see David B. I'll be thinking of him as Mr. Bow-wow-ie!)

I think she's pretty darn good for kids her age (kids - listen to me! Am I that old already?!) Atleast she writes her own songs and has her own style and doesn't rely on showing her bod just to get fans and media attention. What's so bad about that? I actually think some of her looks (I've not seen much) are rather cute. I'd love for my daughter to get into her instead of sleazey so-called-'sexy' tramps.
