Will Lindsey be there, because if so...EEEEEE!!!!!!

Just curious - where did you hear this from? :)

GardenStateGirlie 07-05-2005 12:39 PM

It's too expensive for me to fly out....$218 roundtrip. If it was cheaper and I wasn't starting school at the end of the month, I would have considered making the trek-- :distress:

jkmaletic 07-05-2005 12:43 PM

ARRGH!!!

Why does it have to be right after my 2 shows? Crap. :( Once again, I will miss this. There would be no way for me to have the funds to go to this show so soon after the other 2. Aren't tickets like $2500 each?

~Jamie

JLS 07-05-2005 12:58 PM

With my last donation to the AHI - I asked them to let me know when the next benefit concert would be. They called me.

No, the GP tix are the same as any other concert. The $2500 ones are for the meet and greet package only.

JLS 07-05-2005 01:00 PM

It is expensive - especially if you have to fly out. I've never been to one.

I went to the last two AHI benefits and you can buy regular priced tickets. They did have packages (I thought they were only $1000) where there was a meet and greet with photos. I know some on this board could probably give better info on what you got for the premium packages. It's only money Jamie! Plus, Southwest has $39 tickets each way right now from San Diego and LA.

Wow, have they gone up? I thought it was $1000.

After the last one I said that if she ever did another, I'd forego local shows and purchase a donor ticket. Can't afford it this close to the supposed show date this time though. But I do love that she does these... hopefully there's at least one more on the horizon .

jkmaletic 07-05-2005 01:56 PM

It might still just be $1000. I'm not sure. I just had $2500 in my head for some reason. Sorry guys. :)
If I ever go, it'll be for the meet-and-greet package. Maybe next year.
Thanks for the Southwest info though!! :woohoo:

That seems like a reasonable round trip price for your neck of the woods - but yeah, the timing stinks. And why is it on a Thursday?? Why not the weekend? Especially since it may end up being the last show of the tour? You'd think they schedule it on a more feasible day...depending on who the special guests are, I may blow it off this year.

I checked the America West Arena website and August 4th is the only available date around that time (assuming she continues to hold the show there).

Anyone want to venture a guess who the special guests may be? Possibly Bonnie Raitt?

Rickypt 07-05-2005 03:35 PM

Robert Plant?

TheMacAttack 07-05-2005 03:38 PM

Both Tom Petty and Chris Issak are both playing elsewhere on this date. Don is available as the Eagles dont hit the road until the 11th.

JLS 07-05-2005 04:16 PM

Sorry.....I didn't keep their name and number - but, it was a rep. from the AHI.

It was cheaper for me to fly to Vegas--I only paid $174 roundtrip and both were non-stop flights. If I wasn't going back to school, i'd cave and do it. I just think it would be awesome to see her in her city. Very odd that it is on a Thursday--more odd that it's a month away and we haven't heard anything of it as of late.

WelshWitchPMD 07-05-2005 05:13 PM

Not much time to make plans. I am going to skip the benefit this time. It would be nice to go but unless $1000.00 falls into my lap I won't be going.

HenleyFan 07-05-2005 05:18 PM

Don is actually playing August 3rd in Colorado Springs so he'll have his band together and be a doable amount of distance away. I'm betting he'll be there.

I talked to Geri at the AHI this afternoon. She has no clue at this point who the friends are. She mentioned MAYBE Henley, maybe Isaak, since he and Stevie have the same management. I, of course, asked about Lindsey. But she didn't know anything.

General tickets go on sale this Saturday. Donor packages are still $1000. There will be a meet and greet. The show will be at the Dodge Theatre this time, not the America West Arena. The Dodge seats about 5500, a MUCH smaller venue, but supposedly has a great sound system. I never have seen a show there, so I can't comment on that.

That's pretty much all I know for now. If I hear anything further, I'll let y'all know.

It's a wonderful place to see a show..very intimate and a great sound system. It's much better than America West Arena. I can see why it's there. On such short notice I don't think they'd sell out AWA, but the Dodge will be no problem.

CreepingDeath 07-05-2005 05:49 PM

I've been to several AHI benefits and have always had a great time. I might have to shell out the $$$ and get the expensive tickets.

Thanks for the info, glitter. I have heard it was a good place for a show, but I just never quite made it there. I agree she wouldn't sell out AWA, with three weeks to go from the time tickets go on sale to the show.

littlecricket2 07-05-2005 06:18 PM

OMG, what awful timing. :( It's happening THE DAY of my dreaded topology final; the very last day of the summer session at NIU. Of course, I'm still trying to figure in my mind whether it would be feasible, LOL.

If I were to fly out as soon as I was done with everything...and I gain an hour or two going to Arizona, if it were a nonstop flight...(does some math in head, LOL). Still, it's pretty pricey and I might not make it, so...it's probably a no-go. Dammit!

SweetGirl24 07-05-2005 08:53 PM

So for graduation, my dad said I could have a trip to anywhere I want. My brother went to Ireland and Scotland. Should this be my trip, with the nice ticket included? Can anyone tell me who has been if its well worth it? (I mean, I'll get to meet Stevie!!)

jkmaletic 07-05-2005 09:08 PM

Well, I HAVEN'T been, but I'm positive it would be worth it!! I have always wanted to go, it just hasn't ever fallen at a great time $$-wise for me. I will though, maybe next year. :)

You should go for it!! This may sound odd, but Scotland, Ireland and places like that are always going to be there. Stevie will not, you know?

My flight would be $203 and I live 600 miles from Phoenix.
Our airport is pretty but it sure is expensive.

catinthedark 07-05-2005 10:10 PM

:( :( $500 round trip... before tickets and hotel. :( :( And if I were doing this, I'd have to have the meet and greet package to make it worth it. So I'd be looking at close to $2000 to meet Stevie Nicks.

Hmmmm..... :o

I know - Delta - OF FUC*ING COURSE has no free seats with miles and the tickets are $490 or so in coach. No wonder they are going broke. I DESPISE them most of the time, but I live in Atlanta, so what am I to do

paperflowers 07-05-2005 10:37 PM

194.00 from Cleveland, stay here http://www.sanctuaryoncamelback.com/
total package price ................

498.00

not including concert tix

so far do-able ...hmmmm should I?

I swore no more Stevie concerts.........except VEGASif that happens

Livia 07-05-2005 10:43 PM

I may have to skip this one too - no special guests- too soon after the Texas shows - $300 airfare. Doesn't seem to be in the stars for me....

I only need 3 more rapid rewards on Southwest to get another free roundtrip, but that's not gonna happen before Aug. 4th.

golden braid 07-05-2005 10:46 PM

I totally want to go. I've wanted to go to the last two AHI benefits but didn't and I said to myself if Stevie does again, I'm going. I hope the tickets are still $1000. $2500 is a lot of money (so is $1000 but at least I was prepared for that.)

Me toooooo. I practically swore to myself I'd be at the next one. But I am so broke right now. I'd have to take out a serious loan, and I don't think I could justify that to myself.

Could I?
