What are Stevie's bodyguards' first names?
 

Hey everyone,

I know Stevie has at least two bodyguards, one who walks w/ her during Edge and another who basically accompanies her when she's out and about and who hangs out on the side of the stage during her concerts. I'm just wondering what their first names are, because I've heard the big guy (not the Edge walk guy) referred to as both Marcus and Raul. I heard Raul first and that's why I called him that in my review, but now I think I may have misidentified him. Can someone set me straight?

Marcus seems to be the main guy...he is the one I see around her the most. He is huge, bald, tan and extremely sweet when he likes you. He stands down in the crowd in front of Stevie during the Edge walk and Marty Hom is behind her. She has another guy that could be Raul that has a tatto like Nick Lachey's around his bicep. I dont see him as much with Stevie. Marcus is the guy who came into the audience at last nights show in AC and tossed the guy out of the show. He wears an earpiece and is quite intimidating size wise.

She had Raul standing guard outside of a shop in Philly - and at first I was REALLY intimidated and then I was like "I'm just watching Stevie thru the window shop - what the hell can he do to me for that" - after awhile he was smirking at me. He's a big dude!!

Anyone know who the guy was in my Edge Rush video from Pittsburgh? I know it's not Marcus - is that Raul?

So Marty Hom is the man who walks beside her, I believe he's oriental? Is he managing this tour also?

Ok, so Marty Hom is the Asian-looking guy who accompanies her during her Edge walk. And Marcus is probably the guy who went ballistic at the Detroit show when someone accidentally pulled on Stevie at the beginning of the show? The big bald guy?

I don't think I've ever seen Raul then. Crap, I think I misidentified Marcus in my Grand Rapids review and called him Raul. Time for an edit!

I believe Marty (the Oriental guy) is actually a tour manager (didn't he also work for Bette Midler)...but during the edge walk he stands in as security and holds Stevie by the rear..what a nice job

I know he managed the Fleetwood Mac Tour in 2003, but left in October of 03 "TO GO WORK FOR BETTE MIDLER!!!!!!!!!" as Stevie said in Vegas 03..lol

So I'm assuming he's back managing Stevie's tour now.

I have no idea who Stevie's people are, but I saw Liam (huge, bald, Australian guy) on the floor during the Edge Walk at the Don/Stevie shows. He's done security for the Eagles for the last couple of years.

Yes Chris, Marty Hom is back. He was in Vegas as well. He is the tour manager but during Edge he comes out and stands behind Stevie holding on to the back of her dress if need be to prevent any pulling. Marcus actually gets down into the crowd and stands behind us, following Stevie along in case someone pulls her forward I assume. He is extremely protective, as he should be, and takes no bull****. I saw him knock a venue security guy over in Philly running down to Stevie. He is sweet though once he gets familiar with you and trusts you are not some crazy stalker. He is always very friendly to Marissa. I heard he was a former cop.

I have not seen Marcus at all during this tour. I don't know who the big bald guy is maybe that is Raul. Marcus was nice and I miss him he is the one who took the photo of Lindsey and myself. ;)

Marcus is sort of lightskinned though right? Bald and tall. Raul looks Hispanic and I would describe him as "tan skinned" as well. Marcus is definately around still Pattie...he spoke to Marissa in AC.

Is this Raul in this pic? Because it is not Marcus.

It is my understanding that nobody messes with Jana the Jacker and old Knuckles Celani. :nod: :wavey:

I haven't seen Marcus either. He was Lindsey, John and Mick's bodyguard on the SYW tour. All he told us about Stevie's b/g was "Don't f*ck with Raoul." We believed him. :laugh:

Whoever they are, I sure don't wanna piss em off......... :eek:

He's a big teddy bear (unless you mess with Stevie) -- always incredibly nice. After people pushed me into the stairs in Vegas, he wanted to make sure I got a chance to shake her hand and ever since then, he's said hello to me at each concert i've gone to. Nice guy.

You were next to me, too. I bet your hand must be somewhere in that photo I posted above. :laugh: Thanks to the darn pushers and shovers I did not get a clear photo of either one of you with Stevie. :rolleyes:

Not my hands (and hey, that's a really clear picture of Alex :nod: ). My hands were at my side because I was being shoved so hard--it wasn't until she saw me standing there and I yelped (because I ended up with a fist in my back) that she started having a conversation with me and that I lifted my arms up to chest level and she grabbed them.

That is awful. I did not know that you had such a rude experience. Some people really lose their common sense at concerts.

This thread got me wondering if anyone knows what ever happened to Johnny Starbuck? Remember he was Stevie's bodyguard and boyfriend for a couple of years in the late 80's and early 90's. I got the chance to meet him a couple of times and he was a really nice guy. He use to take stuff back for Stevie to sign during the Street Angel tour when she wasn't meeting fans after the concerts. Well, if I remember correctly, Johnny started with the OSOTM tour and ended with the Street Angel tour. That would also include the BTM tour. You can find pics of him in the tourbooks too. I don't know if he was Stevie's boyfriend the whole time but I know he was early on. Bill
