Favorite "and" song

Stevie is very productive, and sometimes she can't limit herself to one subject per song. So, she will occasionally give us not one, but two people, places, or things per song. How generous! (She hates to leave us without a variety of things to enjoy) To do this she uses the conjunction "and". Which one is your favorite?

VIOLET AND BLUE....

....hence my sig. ;)

I love the bridge...gives me chills

CreepingDeath 06-27-2005 09:56 PM

Violet and Blue. Just delish.

SapphireSister 06-27-2005 09:57 PM

There is NO possible way I can pick between BATB and OMBTRARS! It would simply kill me so I'm voting for both.

Oh that was harsh :distress: I love everyone of those songs, so I ended up just voting for Beauty and the Beast because it was first on the list

Me too! But you left off:

waaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH YEAH!!!

:D

And I've always loved the demo version that was used in Against All Odds. The director also talks about it briefly in the commentary track.

We would be too fabulous at a Stevie show together. Or scary.

Hawkeye 06-27-2005 10:12 PM

I voed for the amazing Gold and Braid, although Violet and Blue is a VERY close second.

GypsySorcerer 06-27-2005 10:40 PM

Beauty and the Beast, Violet and Blue, and Gold and Braid are all right there for me.......I went for B&TB though.

SapphireSister 06-27-2005 10:52 PM

Go Beauty, go Beauty, it's your birthday (kick some G&B ass!!)

I voted for Beauty out of this selection. Storms will always be my favorite lyrically though.

I thought the same thing.

My vote goes to G & B, but only the HBO concert one, not the Enchanted Tour one.

how is Beauty and the Beast tied for first here. It really doesnt compare to Gold and Braid or Voilet and Blue. Maybe Im still just pissed that I really didnt like BATB live Saturday much at all.

GypsyNomad 06-28-2005 12:32 AM

Gold and Braid baby! :blob1:

The first time I ever heard this song was when I was a kid.... I watched the 'Stevie Nicks In Concert' video and when CRAZY :] !
I used to stand in front of the tv and imitate her dancing with the tambourine..... only I didn't have a tambourine, so I used my sister's hot pink frisbee! I also would take my mom's lace table cover right off the coffee table and use it as a shawl (and later a cape for 'Rhiannon') My mom would come home from work, and all my grandpop would say is, "You have a very strange child...."

I know! When I was little, all the kids on my block thought I was sooo weird  ! I never ever wanted to play stick ball or any game that involved getting my teeth knocked out! I liked being in my own world.... I'd pretend our backyard was like the 'Gypsy' video, and twirl around in my mom's cool old 70s hippy clothes :D .... but I got in trouble alot for that :(

GarboSpeaks! 06-28-2005 01:08 AM

I chose Violet & Blue, cause I think it's just a major kicks ass song. Such fire!
No other reason why I adore it really. :)

Yeah....I was probably one of those kids. :sorry: I just liked to play outside, rough like.
But still, I admire your...otherstevieness.

I guess being the neighborhood runt didn't help either.... its pretty bad when your "little" sister is actually bigger than you are :o

I think I just did more "stupid" things that I got hurt from.... like climbing on the roof, and scaling fences..... I was also probably more of a prankster ~ me & my sis would super glue change to the sidewalk, and watch people try to pick it up  The look on their faces was priceless!

I want to try that right now! I never even thought of that!
yeah...good times....I never got hurt doing anything. I only have one small "let's light a fire in our dry pine needle tree fort!" tiny scar...
I can't believe you did that... that's awesome...

Oh, that's not even the worst! We also tied a dollar to fishing line, and yanked it from across the street when someone bent down to pick it up! One old man passing by could not stop laughing  ! Then there was the time I spray-snipered my great-grandmother with the hose because I said something smart-ass to her and she tried to biff me! We had to jump the fence, and run down the street and hide in an empty lot til my mom came home from work.... Man, were we retarded or what?

Causing chaos and destruction of course :D

Seriously, no sane, respectable person would dare babysit for us girls.... That's where good ol' grandpop comes in.... we truly did our worst to him too ;) This includes letting us give him a makeover, lipstick and all.... I bet he really appreciated the neighbors telling him how "pretty" he looked

TheBlueLamp 06-28-2005 03:58 AM

Hmm for me that was a tough choice between Beauty And The Beast, Gold And Braid, and Gate And Garden. I chose Gate And Garden. It's a beautiful song, even if I'm not exactly sure about what the hell she's talking about.

sarah-louise 06-28-2005 04:57 AM

Violet and Blue. Love the "with a touch of your hand, it starts again...waaaaaaah, yeah!" line so much. I always wonder exactly where she was touched with that hand :p

Continuing the theme of being weird kids, I was an obsessive Kate Bush fan as a kid. i would watch her greatest hits video all the time, and I can still enact the entire "Wuthering Heights" dance routine given enough floorspace :) Everyone thought I was nuts.

My mother hated FM so Stevie was not a part of my childhood, but I am sure that if I had seen her on tv as a kid I'd have been grabbing the nearest tablecloth and twirling about. Hell, that happens now sometimes and I'm 22!

golddustwoman77 06-28-2005 09:20 AM

I chose "Gold and Braid," because it is just sooo damn caughty! After this tour though, "Beauty and the Beast" has become a very close second. Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

golden braid 06-28-2005 10:13 AM

I chose Violet and Blue cause it rocks! I would love to hear it in concert. I also really like the HBO version of Gold and Braid but the demo versions don't really do much for me.

If I ever have a little girl my closet will be open season for her. My Mom didn't have anything like that but I so wanted to be that gypsy in the video too. I could not act that out in my house though, everyone was far too critical so all of my acting out and such was in my head or behind closed doors in my room. Here's to being a strange little girl!

DrummerDeanna 06-28-2005 10:25 AM

My vote goes to Gold and Braid - LOVE that song  It just makes me happy! :]
