Chris Nicks: The New Tour Books
Chris Nicks was in his RV working fastidiously on the new tour book yesterday before the show. :wavey:
"....Well I tried and I came bearing gifts. I guess I should not try again, huh?..." . |
Hmm...good to know there's gonna be a tour book; not as good to know who's behind it, but hopefully it'll be a good one! Thanks for the heads-up!
|
Hopefully it's out before the end of the tour...I feel like we waited forever for the SYW tourbook too
|
Well maybe Chris can surprise us this tour and be something good...just like everything else on this tour has seemed surreal :)

I talked to Chris after the Detroit Stevie/Don show and he said that every time he gets the tour book almost done, they give him more pictures to add.

But why do these tourbooks keep arriving so late -- well into the tour or even after it? That's a ridiculous situation that has no good excuse, occurring as it does time after time. |

However, shortly after becoming the official site and before artist direct, the nicksfix had a store, and that store did sell tourbooks (rock a little, timespace, and enchanted, I believe this was prior to TISL) and tour merchandise. So now that Stevie doesn't do artist direct, maybe they can/will bring it back briefly. |

tour books
Well hopefully they will be ready for the Atlantic City show! I don't think they could possibly be printed and ready to go for Cinci...
 |

Man, I hope that they do sell the tourbooks. It does not look like I'm going to be able to make it to a show and I really, really want to buy some tour merchandise!

[QUOTE=thepoetinmyhear]Actually before it became the official site, it was THE site to go to for news and photos and info. During that period the nicksfix actuallly became my homepage because of all the good info Mr. Kinney used to be allowed to provide. Then he became the official site and we all were psyched because he (like the penguin) had earned that right to be recognized as the official site. Sadly though, this stopped him from being able to post rumors and show spoilers and photos and... quickly the Nicksfix fell from being the best fansite to being a slightly better than most official site.
However, shortly after becoming the official site and before artist direct, the nicksfix had a store, and that store did sell tourbooks (rock a little, timespace, and enchanted, I believe this was prior to TISL) and tour merchandise. I would personally prefer an unofficial site. u get more info that way it seems. But I think John does a good job with what he has |

I would assume he is using pictures that were taken opening night in Grand Rapids. |
OK, that Cruise/Winfrey thing made me piddle a liddle.... With the caption about psychiatry - just perfect!

So I think what happened is since nicksfix became official, John is no longer able to post any information unless it comes from the camp. And it seems the camp in some ways is not too organized when it comes to things like keeping the website updated and merchandising. Wonder if those are Chris's areas of responsibility.. LOL!!! :sorry: :D I still love the nicksfix because you do get things like Q&As, random handwritten notes and journal entries and the occassional rarely seen hi-res photo. Laura |

Hope you're right, but with the level of organization and commitment this clown has shown towards getting things done on time, I expect we'll be lucky if it includes photos of her from the SA era... |
Selling the tourbooks only to people who attended the Two Voices/Gold Dust concerts is just plain stupid, I'm not saying he didn't say it or suggest it - I'm just saying it's not very business savy. Why wouldn't they want to sell to anybody who would buy one? And like someone just said, how the hell would they know you didn't go?
:ring ring: asshole selling books: hello? eager young fan: Yes I'd like to order a tourbook please! asb: Did you attend any of the shows during the Two Voices/God Dust tour? eyf: No, but I went to see her in Vegas, gambled, lost all my money, my home, and my job but was able to save enough cash for the tourbook. I love Stevie very much and... asb: sorry, you can't have one. :click: :ring ring: asb: hello? bootlegger/scalper dude: Hi, I attended a show on the Gold Dust tour and would love to order a tourbook to sell on ebay for a billion dollars. asb: prove it. b/sd: I can send you a copy of the show I bootlegged and receipts of all the money I made selling them to fans! asb: how many tourbooks would you like? |

  :p Bravo!! |
Guess not...
I guess the tour books weren't ready for Cinci.... :distress: ...maybe by Atlantic City? Tampa? West Coast?
|
Does anybody besides me worry that there won't be a tourbook?

I'm sure there will be one--I just doubt we'll see it until mid July, IMO. |
When I talked to Chris in Detroit, he said he was working hard on getting them done...I mean, how long does it take though?? I have to take into consideration though, that he did say he was the only one working on them, and he had no help...
