For those tired with Tom Cruise..
Here is a little story from last night in London for all those Ledgies that are rather tired of the Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes media coverage..
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertain...lm/4107922.stm Four members of a freelance camera crew were arrested at the War of the Worlds premiere in London after its star Tom Cruise was squirted with water. The 42-year-old actor's face and jacket were drenched with water squirted from what appeared to be a microphone. The crew was working for Channel 4, which said it hoped Cruise would see the funny side of the stunt which was for a new comedy show. The four men were arrested on suspicion of assault and later released on bail. Cruise - who attended the premiere with his new fiancee Katie Holmes - was talking to journalists in Leicester Square when he was squirted with water. The star struggled to keep his composure as he repeatedly called one of the journalists a "jerk". He said: "That's incredibly rude. I'm here giving you an interview and you do that, it's incredibly rude." The actor held the interviewer until security guards arrived and then towelled himself down before signing more autographs. You can link to a video of the incident on the webpage above. |
I thought that was appalling.
To be fair to Cruise, he's always great at premieres, spending ages talking to the press and public alike. That prank was just uncalled for. |
Nothing makes me more irate than those jerky TV shows where grown men do their best to act with less maturity than a playgroup of toddlers. There was a similar one in Britain not too long ago - some guy going around and harassing celebrities like Cruise with dumb-ass questions. Shame on the TV channels for hiring these dweebs.

He was an ass to most celebs although I do remember a couple of funny moments.. He asked a well known politician a question and instead of putting the microphone to his mouth he put it to his ass when he spoke.. The other one I remember was him running behind Barry Manilow in Hyde Park carrying a white sheet chanting "Barry, you dropped your handkerchief!" As for the Cruise thing, it was totally immature and goes to show how easy it is to attack a celebrity. Cruise is known for taking literally hours to talk to fans in Leicester Square and it would be unfortunate if he stopped doing it now, although I don't think this show of "Jackass" culture will stop him in the future.. He does give up a lot of time for the UK fans. |
Oh c'mon, it isn't that bad. It's not like he was hurt or anything.

 I'm sorry but this really makes me giggle. Quote:

I think anytime anyone throws anything at anyone else in that setting - it is just uncalled for. I mean who would like that done to them.

The only odd thing to me was Cruise's immediate reaction, he laughed and then he got serious right after which was a bit odd.. |

As much as the whole Tom and Katie thing turns my stomach, I think the stunt was rude and the guy deserved to be arrested.
There's a little group of a$$holes in this country who go around throwing pies in the faces of unsuspecting politicians. The first few leaders who got hit - and it is always a surprise - were very good sports about it, and laughed it off. But then one of them pressed assault charges, as did the next. And eventually, the idiots were convicted. It may sound like a harmless prank, but the reality is, who knows what someone might be hiding something in the tin plate full of cream? One minute you're shaking a hand, the next you are blind-sided and hit in the face? I think it's ludicrous. |

I don't like Cruise at all, but I still think it was out of order. Plus, I hate that kind of humour that attempts to get laughs by embarrassing or humiliating people. I think it's kind of pathetic. At least with Jackass, they're taking the piss out of themselves. |

I don't have the time to devote to a cat right now so I don't have a proper pet anymore, although I have about 30 or so fish outside in the pond.. |

Kind of ironic how this happened just after my beloved Nicole was excoriated by the paparazzi at the Bewitched premiere. |

You have a fish pond that you stock? Get 2 cats that way they have each other when you are not around. Unless it is for days on end or something. |

It's the whole scenario that makes this particular incident funny not the fact that T.C. got sprayed with water. Actually, that on its own is not even really funny, it's really more the fact that this was a lame joke concocted by some jackass who thought that it would be the height of hilarity to spray Tom Cruise with a microphone that spews water , THEN said jackass gets arrested for it. I'm sorry, but that is a total hoot in my book. Tom is really only incidental here. And the mental image I conjured when I first read the story was pretty funny. So sue me, I contend that it was a harmless reflex ! |

But it also stops any local herons from getting their dinner from my pond.. Plus it also stops the fish from dying if they jump out of the pond when they get frisky. It's a shame, I would rather have no net but it's better for the fish.. |

So here's what I'm hearing about that relationship. A source VERY close to the deal is saying there's a contract. It's worth $5 million. It's for five years. There will be no sex. The deal was sealed June 7. That's what I'm hearing. |
I agree that the reporter was a jackass. That being said I am tired of Tom being such a baby about everything. I mean he got sprayed with water at his movie premier, get the f*ck over it, go back to your mansion and shut it.

And I just read that Batman only made $46 million. I bet TomKat had something to do with such poor returns, which sucks and it doesn't bode well for War of the Worlds... |

I am sad, too, that he is acting kind of like a tard right now. I'm also very suprised. I guess, and I'm sad again for the fact that you can only keep that kind of thing under wraps for so long. I truly hope that soon, because of the different climate, he will feel he can be more honest with the world. I hope he's smart enough to avoid a giant stupid scandal in favor of revealing the truth. But, I kind of doubt it. Just thinking about the nature of the career he has built has me shuddering, so I'm sure he's shaking in his boots. But, if he did have the courage, I think - it would be a huge boon to....I dunno. This might sound dumb, but I think he's kind of the Rock Hudson of now. Like, people who don't know would never be able to imagine him in certain ways. You know, all his roles are so...Manly/Sporty. But, if they could, wouldn't that be wonderful? To conclude, I think he is somewhat insecure, but mainly because, in a way, he has had to be. Also I think he is basically pretty decent. okay, Rant Over. :sorry: Oh, and P.S. - I think it's a given that TC has put all his stock into his career. Everything he has. So. And he has had an exceptional career. |

At this point, if he wants to come out, more power to him. But I truly believe that he's making it worse for himself when the day finally comes that he's "outed" by doing all this stuff. |
I find it all rather disturbing that there "seem" to be some willing participants in all this contract business(if indeed this is whats happening) Dosn't say much about their (Nicole, Katie) morals at all.Would you "marry" for money, notariaty,( no sex/ sex with TC....I imagine, this could appeal... ;) ) a movie career..all at the expence of self worth, I dunno, I couldn't.All the pretence would drive me nuts.

I am not a fan of his, but I just never understood how all these accusation got started in the first place. He does not seem gay at all to me. He does not seem the least bit effeminate to me either, does he to you? (I know that that is not a prerequisite) Have I missed something? Has he been linked to male lovers? Are people just assuming? What is the basis of these claims that he is gay? Why would Nichole play along with this, what would be in it for her? She is gorgeous and could probably get any man she wanted, why would she want to be in that situation? Thanks for any insight you can share with me on this one. This has always baffled me. There has to be more to the story that I am not aware of. |

In any event, rumours of Cruise being gay have been around since the eighties, it's nothing new. What would be in it for Nicole and Katie to play his beard? Money and good movie parts for one. On another note, this is how ridiculous TomKat has become: four bloody articles on them in one morning on the Internet Movie Database. http://imdb.com/news/wenn/2005-06-21/ Cruise "Tried To Convert Johansson" Scarlett Johansson pulled out of appearing in the second Mission: Impossible sequel after Tom Cruise tried to convert her to scientology, according to reports. Cruise, who produces the action adventures, met with Johansson ahead of casting for the upcoming Mission: Impossible 3 and took her to one of the controversial religion's headquarters, claims Radarmagazine.Com. A source tells the website, "After two hours of proselytizing, Cruise opened a door to reveal a second room full of upper-level Scientologists who had been waiting to dine with the pair, at which point the cool-headed ingénue politely excused herself." Officially Johansson quit the film because of scheduling conflicts after the film was delayed so Cruise could make War Of The Worlds. Spielberg Defends Cruise's Love Declarations Movie-maker Steven Spielberg has leapt to the defense of newly-engaged superstar Tom Cruise, after weeks of media and public criticism of the actor's over-enthusiastic declarations of love for fiancee Katie Holmes. The 42-year-old film hunk shocked America when he punched the air repeatedly and jumped on Oprah Winfrey's famous sofa, while laughing manically as he shouted, "I'm in love" on the May 23 episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show. Nearly two weeks later he repeated his couch-surfing antics on Jay Leno's Tonight Show, saying, "When I start to think about her, things happen. So, cease talking." Subsequent polls in People and Us Weekly show a majority of readers believe the couple's romance is a publicity stunt to promote their latest films - Cruise's War Of The Worlds and Holmes' Batman Begins. But in an interview with Newsweek magazine, director Spielberg lashed out at claims he and Paramount Pictures were concerned Cruise's public displays of affection would negatively affect the sci-fi epic. Spielberg says, "I was a little upset. I was a little upset (at the media attention). Not at Tom, but at the press for making such a big deal out of a kind of small thing. Tom lost his cool because he was deliriously happy, and now he was being punished for his public display of happiness. What Tom did on Oprah was exactly what Tom did with me when he first told me about Katie Holmes. But the press didn't like the way Tom bared his soul." Cruise proposed to Holmes in the early hours of Friday morning at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. Cruise Pranksters Released on Bail The four practical jokers arrested for squirting Tom Cruise with water at the London premiere of War Of The Worlds were released on police bail yesterday. The film crew, who performed the prank for an upcoming comedy show to be broadcast by British TV network Channel 4, have been ordered to report back to police on July 4 and could be charged with assault if Cruise decides to take the matter further. The 42-year-old was giving interviews to journalists attending the celebrity screen at Leicester Square's Odeon cinema when he was soaked with water squirted from a bogus microphone. According to British newspaper the Daily Mirror, rock matriarch Sharon Osbourne was treated to a similar soaking at a film premiere in London last month - but she decided to take the law into her own hands and threw a bucket of water over the lead practical joker. ( I love that broad.) Holmes Dropped from 'Batman' Sequel Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman have signed to star in a second Batman movie, but love interest Katie Holmes has been dropped. Movie bosses are thrilled with the response to Batman Begins - it took $46.9 million in its first weekend at the US box office - and have snapped up the film's stars for a sequel. Bale as Batman was the first to put pen to paper, followed by Caine as butler Alfred and Freeman as Bruce Wayne's business associate Lucius Fox. But Holmes won't reprise her role as district attorney Rachel Dawes - reportedly because Warner Bros is angry her engagement to Tom Cruise has stolen media attention away from the movie. A source tells Pagesix.Com, "Everyone is in agreement that the movie's strength is with Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman." Adding of Holmes, "She won't be in the sequel... the next romantic interest will be a much stronger actress. Warner is happy that people are now focusing on who'll be playing the Joker rather than Katie and Tom." (And may I suggest Mark Hamill for The Joker?) |

I do think, however, that War of the Worlds will be a huge opener assuming nothing else huge is opening that weekend. I mean that has Summer blockbuster written all over it  |
