OMG. I just heard the version of EO17 where she says this line right before the "wail" and she also throws in some Nightbird lyrics in there. It is astounding to me. Anyone know where this is from?

I don't know. Hee.

Yeah, it's definitely RAL-era since it contains Nightmare and Nightbird lyrics.

ELIUD 06-14-2005 06:08 PM

I've never heard this, where did you find it? And "Just like the white-winged dove" is a lyric in the album version of Nightbird.

Greg, "This is not the world, not the real world" was a lyric on The Nightmare so maybe you're right about it being on the RAL tour.

Yeah I'm guessing either this was tweaked to make it sound faster, or she really sang it this fast...

here's a tip for a good listening experience:

If you go to windows media player, you can change the speed of the song you're playing, and the wail sounds even better with it being a little slower

You can find this option under View -> Enhancements -> Play Speed Settings
then move the bar over to 0.9...if you are having a hard time getting it to move over, uncheck the "snap slider to common speeds" and it'll let you set it anywhere

Glad you liked it, it's a personal fave in my archives

Dude that friggin rocks! Thanks so much for bringingup the topic and to Krrby for posting it. What a fierce version of Edge...in fact it is my new favorite.

Wowzers. I am blown away.

sparky 06-15-2005 08:10 AM

Lori is kicking ASS all over this song. :blob2:

Is that Lori or Sharon with the stonger backing vocal? Whoever it is, (I thought Sharon had the more "leadish" back-up on Edge) is really belting it out. Thanks for sharing this!

skcin 06-15-2005 09:09 AM

I downloaded it before I left for work but had to leave. I'm so anxious to hear it!

I was wondering if it had been speeded up - or whether Stevie was just speeded up herself! But thanks for bringing our attention to this version - I'd never heard it either! It's very cool.

GardenStateGirlie 06-15-2005 10:42 AM

I finally downloaded and listened. Holy ****...the whole performance...even Lori and Sharon...totally fierce

No, the sound file is a half-step higher than it should be. The band actually played it in E in real life & this audio file is in F.

Hey, thanks! I didn't know anything about that little feature. It's kinda cool!

I just love all the 1986 Seventeens. They're my favorite. But some fans are kind of scared of them.

I know there were other shows where Stevie sang "Will you walk gently through my shadow/When I call you?" -- will you guys dig through your old tapes to compile a list? These shows would all be '86, probably August & Sept.

I think I have one or two where she sings that...Can't remember specifically which concerts it was (as I'm working on my trading list as we speak)

I'm really confused with one show because I downloaded it as saying "Chicago" show but then when I went down to throwndown.net it's listed as "Live & Unapproved in Australia" but the EO17 is different from the one I posted. So I'm confuzzled

krrrby 06-15-2005 03:50 PM

Ok I went through all my RAL edge of 17's and the one I have posted, and the one from the "Live & Unapproved" has the Nightbird lyrics in them...that's all I could find

WizNicks 06-16-2005 08:35 AM

Sorry! I didn't hear one of these version (I prefer the 3 minute songs), but maybe I can help firguring out what is from where! (P.S. I like your new site krrrby! :wavey: )

Now I'm not sure what you have, but I have a CD called "Stevie Nicks: Unauthorised Live Vol. 1" from Joker Productions in South Australia.

It has nine tracks from the 1991 Whiskey show in L.A. even though the front of the CD says it's from "Chicago 1986."

The Chicago 1986 show would be the Poplar Creek June 21 -- booted as "Cloaks & Daggers" but also circulating in a pre-"Cloaks & Daggers" complete, uncut recording taped by Jeff Samuels on a digital recording.

Now that you say that I think it is cloaks and daggers
but someone had this "Live & Unapproved Show" in australia that sounds exactly like cloaks and daggers...

either way, the so-called "live and unapproved" show I have sounds better than this chicago show so I'm gonna delete it

that solves my confusion
