The most ridiculous song you like(d) as an adult

Okay, I'm ashamed of this, but my song would have to be Brand New Key by Melanie. I think it's one of those songs that's so cheesy that it makes me crack up. What's worse is that I bought a cheapo CD just for THAT song.

dissention 06-04-2005 11:55 PM

What You Waiting For by Gwen Stefani. What a heinous song, but I love it.

GateandGarden 06-05-2005 12:00 AM

Destiny's Child's "Bills, Bills, Bills"

It came out when I was still a kid, technically, but I still like it now. :o

The whole "Can you pay my telephone bills? Can you pay my automo bills?" is so bad.

dudden22 06-05-2005 12:32 AM

I still LOVE "We Are Family"

CreepingDeath 06-05-2005 12:42 AM

Milkshake- Kelis

Hollaback Girl- Gwen Stefani

Father Figure- George Michael

Everything She Wants- Wham

Those are just bad.

 I'll admit, when Milkshake came out, it was catchy.

I liked that song by Dynamite Hack...Boyz In The Hood. Anyone remember that?

gldstwmn 06-05-2005 01:28 AM

Ashlee Simpson. :o I don't know the name of the song because I listen to the CD as I drive. Please chalk it up as a side effect to all the good drugs I did in the 80's.

GypsySorcerer 06-05-2005 01:32 AM

"She Bangs" by Ricky Martin.

I purchased the CD when it came out. As studio-produced as it is, I still listen to it and it is still addicting. Autobiography?

You know what I think it is? I think I'm a John Shanks fan and that's what appeals to me about this.

Yep  He and his sidekick did a really great job producing her album.

I do like Autobiography. I like to sing Pieces Of Me to my daughter in this whack falsetto voice.
I also LOL when she makes the wounded dog sound in Love Me For Me. I can't explain it. :o

No doubt. They produced and wrote it. I can definitely see why Stevie wanted him to work on TISL, although others feel the need to excoriate him.

I know exactly what part you're talking about and it bugs the hell out of me because it has no place in the song

He's an incredibly good producer--he and Sheryl made that album into the success it was. Stevie had amazing material and they worked their magic. He knows his stuff and he has a great ear.

I think this takes the cake:
I like that old Precious Moments song, which sounds like Sable And Blonde minus any rasp or soul.

Funny story about this song for me. I still haven't heard it, but I've certainly had a lot of fun with it. I am a season ticket holder for the Dayton Bombers hockey team, and my section is the obnoxious section. Anyway, there is this one lady in our section who has two daugthers, and she enjoys embarrassing the hell out of them. This lady got all of the guys in the section to yell "milkshake" REALLY loud throughout the season because it made her 13 year old daughter freak out. Hey, the team sucked, so we had to make our own entertainment.

I actually own two cd's by Kelis. I suppose that's über-embarrassing, then.
it's produced by those NERD guys, I think it's quite good  (as long as you don't listen to the lyrics too well  )

You really aren't missing much in having not heard the song.

Jake, does your mikshake bring all the boys to the yard?

I love Father Figure too. Actually, I'm kind of the queen of embarrassing music. The kind you jam in your car, then turn down when you get to a stop light so no one can hear you jamming to it. I love almost ALL Madonna music :o And I liked that song Toxic (Britney!) I will NEVER admit that, though!!!!!!!

skcin 06-05-2005 07:29 PM

I like that Ashlee, I don't care if she can't sing a note live!

I did like Hit Me Baby One More Time when it first came out & before Britney became a pig & I started f*cking hating her.

There.

That's embarassment enough for one day. :o

This is almost too embarassing....I used to love this song, now I wonder what drugs I was taking. I guess it was fun to dance to?

Crucified by Army Of Lovers. What an awful, AWFUL band.

Remember the movie- To Live and Die In LA?
The soundtrack was by the Wayne Chung--- and it was excellent--
and car chases were by William Friedken and they were excellent!

Chung is the same guy that did- "Dance Hall Days"....Take your baby by the hand...
I think, anyway,???? I still love that tune...
Silly, I know, but it always makes me smile !! That and Little Feat's Live version of "Dixie Chicken"

We still sing this in our house.

The other day one of our cats drags in a garter snake and my husband and I start with, "SNAKE...it's a SNAKE...oooohhhh it's a SNNNNAAAAAKE!"

I like "Girls, Girls, Girls" by Motley Crue. And I largely think anything after the first album is schlock, but I like this song for some reason.
