Live vs. Album

I noticed a lot of us were metioning our picks in the "album battles" would be different if we were talking about live versions. I am not going to list every single tune that she's ever done live (solo tours only, btw), but I've picked several to see what people prefer.

Do you prefer the album version of the following songs, or live (whether it be from an official release or a boot or hearing it at a show.)

Outside the Rain

Sorcerer
How Still My Love
Talk To Me

I was not a fan of Fall From Grace until I downloaded her performance of it on the Blockbuster awards. I was an instant convert.
Gypsy is strange because it is one of my favorites, but the magic can never be reproduced live.
Alice has that lovely twinkly intro in live versions.

B&TB - I really like the Vegas live version
If Anyone Falls - again, I like the Vegas live version
Rhiannon - live, definitely
Landslide - live, on The Dance
GDW - live
Gypsy - album, although I liked the LIB version
Dreams - live
Sara - album

Outside the Rain - album and some live versions (depends on the version, heard it so many time live, so, you know...gets old, could use a change and see some other song done live after all these years)

SDMHA - album for sure, I'm bored with it live, only time I really liked it live was on the HBO Bella Donna concert video, that was awesome. Otherwise, I prefer the album version and would rather see something else done live

Edge of 17 - album and live

Stand Back - album and live (love the long drum intro and bongos!)

Blue Denim - album and live

Sorcerer - the demo with Fleetwood Mac, Idon't like the album version or her live version that much, although the one for this past Vegas show seems better than it was on the TISL tour... I was hoping to hear it with Fleetwood Mac on the SYW tour, done their way, not the TISL way...bummer... :(

How Still My Love - I have heard one or two awesome live versions

Talk To Me - album - doesn't seem to do as well live

Leather & Lace - album, and love the live version with Sharon and Lori up at the mike with her

Rooms on Fire - album

Alice - album

Fall From Grace - album and live! love it!

HAEWAFY - album and live

B&tB - album, and some live versions, usually pretty good live, but wouldn't mind a new ballad live, like reviving Bella Donna - I *LOVE* that live on the HBO concert - the one they played on the radio in full, not the video (which didn't include the song Bella Donna, total bummer, same with the other songs it didn't include... :( )

If Anyone Falls - a favorite song of mine and not played often live, so I love live anytime I can get it live, and love it on the album too

Rhiannon - album and live

Landslide - am sick of it, sick of it on album, on the radio, on the tv, live, and cover versions - sick, sick, sick of it, sad to say because it's a beautiful song

GDW - album and demos

Gypsy - album, and since not played often live it's fun to hear live

Dreams - album. okay live too, but it's *always played* whether she tours solo or with Mac, so, whatever... would love to see some other song live instead now at this point, when she's solo

Sara - album, for sure, demos for sure, and live too

What other songs would everyone love to see her do live??

For me it would be Bella Donna like how she did it during the Bella Donna tour live.

Wild Heart - I wonder how that would be live? I *love* that song
Kind of Woman
Nightbird - I loved seeing that live on some of the 80's clips, especially if Lori came back on tour with her!
I Can't Wait
No Spoken Word - I always liked that
Kick It
Just Like a Woman
Long Distance Winner
Thousand Days - would that not be wild? Well, for those of us who love that song and just like variety with live songs
Violet and Blue
Blue Lamp in a fast, rockin version
Reconsider Me
Sorcerer like the old demo with Mac
I Miss You
Love Is - like the demo with her and the piano (before Sarah McL and her bubby worked on it) - that could be an awesome closing ballad, I think...I would love that...
Crystal - like how she re-did it around the If You Ever Did Believe time
oh- If You Ever Did Believe live - !
Storms
Sisters of the Moon - live again - I miss that
Angel - love how they did that during the Bella Donna era
Smile At You - like the demo, how cool that would be live, I like the SYW version too
Everybody Finds Out
Stand By Me
Frozen Love - live with Lindsey, and/or Mac

okay...I rambled on long enough....time to log off and go make dinner... :)

B&tB - vegas baby, vegas... though Red Rocks was great as well

If Anyone Falls - album, but the live harmonies are fabulous

Rhiannon - i actually love the Dance version?

Landslide - this song is tragic w/o lindsey, so any version with him

GDW - album

Gypsy - album is best, then the Dance because she goes high, then the AHI acoustic version... wouldn't that be fabulous for the FM shows? they can do gypsy, crystal, and say goodbye... hott.

Dreams - i never want to hear this song again, but should i have to, album

Sara - in my dreams there is a 74 hours long version of Sara (minus the annoying ooh-aahs), otherwise, album version is best, followed by the september 2004 borgata show - if only for the reason that i was ten feet away from her in tears because i never ever thought that i would see her sing it.
