'Breakfast Club' Crew to Reunite on MTV

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/breakfast...VjBHNlYwNtcA--

NEW YORK - Don't you forget about "The Breakfast Club." At the 2005 MTV Movie Awards, to air June 9, the network plans to reunite the cast of the classic '80s movie, the cable channel said Friday.

Though Emilio Estevez, who played Andrew Clark, isn't confirmed, in attendance will be Molly Ringwald (Claire Standish), Ally Sheedy (Allison Reynolds), Anthony Michael Hall (Brian Johnson) and Judd Nelson (John Bender).

The 1985 film was directed by John Hughes, who had a string of hit films starring young people during the decade, among them "Sixteen Candles," "Weird Science," "Pretty in Pink" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."

Yellowcard will perform the film's theme song, "Don't You Forget About Me," from the 1985 film. The song was originally recorded by Simple Minds.

This year's awards will be hosted by Jimmy Fallon. To be taped June 4 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, the show's scheduled performers include Mariah Carey and Eminem.

Yay. I <3 The Breakfast Club.

That's really cool, but I was just reading that, and, uh...off topic, did you see the pic of Victoria Beckam, aka, Halle Barry? WTF is up with that tan? Geez!!!
Oh, I heart breakfast club, too...

GardenStateGirlie 05-28-2005 10:55 PM

I read this earlier and i'm totally stoked. It'll probably be my only reason for tuning in

Not to discount that Diss may be too good to be for real, but do you know anyone who doesn't love that movie?

I wanted to marry Emilio Estevez's character, but have an affair with Judd Nelson's when E.E. was out of the house. And I totally dug Ally Sheedy in that movie. Even Molly Ringwald was tolerable.

Sweets, you couldn't ignore me if you tried. So...so. Are you guys like boyfriend-girlfriend? Steady dates, lovers? Come on, sporto, level with me! Do you slip her the hot beef injection?

Gawd, I know that movie by heart.

I always giggle every time I see Viggo Mortensen run in the LOTR movies because he runs just like Judd Nelson does when he's drawing the principal away from the others and dragging his hands along the lockers. Kills me every time. And then I think, God, what a geek!

This will be the only reason I'll watch the MTV awards. I absolutely love this movie! My husband hates the fact that I watch it everytime it comes on cable.

Well, at least it's not Ocean Avenue. That song blows. But I hate to hear a fine 80s jam ruined by whiney Blink 182 rip offs.

Or, good gawd, Good Charlotte. I'd vomit profusely and then promptly die.

I liked Viggo in 28 Days; don't much care for his oeuvre other than that. And I liked the first one pretty well; I'll watch Sean Bean in anything. The last two were watchable only for David Wenham; the rest was choppy and incoherent.

I only saw part of the first one and fell asleep when I went to see the third. Whenever I watch Viggo, I can't help but have my eyes drawn that ass on his face that he calls a chin. It drives me nuts.

And, for some strange reason, I get a real kick out of the fact that he starred in Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3.

But then I lose all that hotness for being a Star Wars fan, right?

LOTR is totally blergh. Just fech.

The third one was unbearable. I wish I could have fallen asleep. And I don't like him because he reminds me of a kind of amalgam of various people I dislike. And his chin is ridiculous. He also has an overhanging brow, which annoys me more.

I don't even know what the movies are about, to be honest. But that chin, oy. The cleft in it has to be as deep as the Grand Canyon. I could hop into it and be swallowed whole.

But I will admit that his new movie with David Cronenberg looks pretty fantastic.

Only if Hayden is in them.

Some of those Star Wars fans freak my ass out big time. I saw Episode I when it first came out and wanted to beat some of the people senseless with those friggin' plastic lightsabers they were swirling around. Or those people that actually camp out to get tickets? Crikey.

I wonder if they have to pay Billy Ray Cyrus royalties for some of those hairdos.
