What's up?

What's shakin', Chris McVie fans?

Just popped in to say hello.

GateandGarden 05-26-2005 10:54 AM

I'm playing and singing "You Make Lovin' Fun" and trying to sound right when I hit the notes on "I never did beliiieeeevvveeeeeevvvee." (Not sure if I wrote that out right. Is there a right way?

I loved the way Erica wrote "Illume" on her list of Stevie songs she didn't like. She spelled it something like "Eeeloomay."

[/end pointless post]

Make sure you have the chords right on that chorus. Do you? To sing it right, you need the right chords.

Well, you do know that when I say "playing," I mean playing it in my stereo, not actually playing it on an instrument, right? :o  There are definitely limits to what I can do!

Once Les gets settled, she'll get the staff notation up on Madness Fades (www.madnessfades.net). In the meantime (pun intended), try this. The chords in parens are alternative:

Verse:
Gm (Gm7)
F (F7)
Eb (Eb6)

Chorus:
Bbadd9 (Bbadd9/4)
Bb9/Ab (Bb11/Ab)
Gm11
F6add4
Ebadd9

Tag out:
Bb
Gm11 (Eb/G)
F6
Eb

When we get it uploaded in PDF, I'll post here.

I taught myself keyboards AFTER learning guitar, so everything I do is based on a guitarist's mindset. I'm sure that would drive David nuts!
Oddly, I think in the same manner about both. And I'll prefer playing one for a couple of months, then I flip-flop to the other. I play both every weekend in my band, though.

It's essentially an octave rocking pattern in eighth notes. Les will post the part as soon as I get it PDF'd & sent to her.
