PUNKY is out?!?! It will go great with my "Whats happening" ones!  I bought Murphy Brown season one, I never really watched it when it was out because of my work schedule, I am finding it surprisingly funnier than I expected.

That it does. I'll probably watch the first hour most frequently; that segment of the film was exceptional. :wavey:

I caught a few Anime, but sadly don't have a place to see it on TV. I thought the movie Akira was well done. (I know noob anime, but I don't have access to much - it's here just don't know what is good.)

MURPHY BROWN IS THE BEST SITCOM EVER. That is all. :D

Seriously, I adore that show. Every, and I mean every, season was hilarious. The early days with Elton and Phil were my fave, though. My favorite episode from the first season is the one with Robin Strassar as the Russian newswoman. Candice kills me when she says "I can't take you seriously with that accent! You sound like you should be mkaing big trouble for Moose and Squirrel!" And the Quayle jokes are still hilarious. Murphy had the best ensemble cast in histroy, in my opinion, and the writing was just remarkable.

I *liked* the first hour, even if I couldn't stand DiCaprio. It's only in the second half where it completely falls apart for me. Blanchett was fabulous, though her accent wasn't very authentic. But I won't rain on your parade. :D

I definately will complete the set on this one! So many inside jokes in it also. (So THATS why that painter guy was always in her house!...) I finally can see them in some sort of order. Funny, Funny stuff. I completed my Xena, working on MASH as they come out, and a few - okay many - others.

Johnny Stew 05-24-2005 11:35 PM

I got the 'Scrubs' first season set last week. I love that show. :D

Next up for me will be the third and final season of 'Wonder Woman,' which comes out on the 7th of June. :blob1:

anime for over 30 years, And probably always will.

The best place to watch some anime is on cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" which currently has 2 of the best (IMO) anime's:

Inu Yasha (Which I am currently watching)
Full Metal Alchemist

Of the newer ones Samaurai Champloo is great...And hip as hell

The one anime I recommend to everyone is "Witch Hunter Robin", If ya like the X-Files then this is a perfect show to watch.

"She thinks Camus is a soap."

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Boy, you've got me cracking up remembering lines from Murphy Brown.

I'm waiting for Maude on DVD, too. My mother is a big MASH fan, so she has all the ones so far.

I appreciate the gesture.

I love Blanchett -- a fine actress and gorgeous to boot. Without her, I probably wouldn't have liked the film at all.

My recently purchased or ordered DVDs...

"Grey Gardens"
"Once Upon A Time In The West"
"Strangers With Candy: Season 3"
"Amadeus"
"Ab Fab Seasons 1-3"
"Stevie: Live at Red Rock"
"Classic Albums: Rumours"

It had a bit of an odd history.... pilot movie on ABC in the fall of '75, two hour-long "specials" in the spring of '76, a handful of episodes aired here and there (still on ABC) over the '76-'77 season, and then two full-length seasons on CBS, from '77 to '79.

The ABC episodes that aired erratically, are considered to be the first season.

Moony 05-25-2005 12:32 AM

Leon: The Professional
Garden State
I Heart Huckabees

...I've been lagging :(
There are soooo many TV shows I want to get still. Alas, I am broke.

Miss Vicky 05-25-2005 12:50 AM

Most recent -

Hotel Rwanda (didn't think it was possible to make Joaquin Phoenix look like sh*t, was proved wrong with this one)
Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate Events (good movie but not pleased to discover Jude Law was part of the cast)
Night Court - Season One (all hail Dan Fielding!!)
The Incredibles (Jack-Jack Attack is ssoo cute, but "Boundin'" is just disturbing)
Married with Children - Season Three
Queer as Folk - Season Four (Gale Harold and Hal Sparks are too yummy for words!)

Was going to pick up The Aviator today but ran out of time. Will have to buy it later this week.

All he does is narrate it. But I love him, so I don't care. I was surprised how much I liked it because I loathe Jim Carrey with a passion. What an untalented hack he is. Meryl Streep was a real hoot. "Don't stand in front of the fridge, it might fall and crush you flat." Good movie.

hayley 05-25-2005 09:34 AM

I don't think I've bought all these, some are promos (woot!), but this is all in the pile of crap to be ingested:

Gilmore Girls- Season 3
Miracles- Complete Series
Undeclared- Complete Series
Scrubs- Season 1
Home Movies- Season 2

I've been watching the Scrubs DVDs every night. I kinda want to marry Dr. Cox and make like a thousand mean little babies.

DrummerDeanna 05-25-2005 09:44 AM

Golden Girls - Season 2 :blob1: :blob2:
What Dreams May Come

Gee - I think those are the only one's I've bought recently....I don't usually buy more than one at a time - and I've been saving $$ for my trip to NM next week :D

skcin 05-25-2005 09:58 AM

I stopped buying tons of DVDs cuz I rarely take the time to watch them. I am planning on getting the following soon:

Dave Chappelle Season 2 (the Muppet-like skit for the "VD Gang" is worth the price alone)

Gilmore Girls Seasons 2 & 3

If China Beach is ever released on DVD, I'm on it.

Only seasons 1 and 2 have been released to far - season three is following soon.

The bonuses?? Suck!

Seaon 1 has this lame-ass fashion commentary with Joan and Melissa Rivers..

Season 2 only has this dumb quiz...

I got them for the episodes - not the bonuses...because there is a definite lack of bonuses!

all the same 05-25-2005 10:28 AM

Team America "F*ck yeah!"
Seinfeld Season 4
Golden Girls Season 2
The Larry Sanders Show Season 1
Six Feet Undahhhhhh Season 3

Good to know. I was going to jump for joy if there were good bonuses...it sounds like there aren't any but I'm still excited. I think I'll have to buy these anyway! Thanks for the info! :wavey:
